I love this plasma table build. Without your plans and the very inexpensive cost, I would have never even tried to purchase a table. I have done so much with this table and enjoy it so much. Thanks for keeping the price low and always being so helpful when I reach out. Looking forward to THC.

I have built this recently in the uk, the cost is alot higher now but still was worth it. main savings i made was getting the water pan folded up with a golden handshake and getting the 3d printed parts done professionally (again with a golden handshake) Unfortunately and this is no discredit to jd, but for $350 that is if you are already set up as 3d printing metal tooled wizard. It will cost you more if you are an average garage man but dont let it put you off - the plasma cutter and compressor will be your main cost.

I do mostly freehand plasma cutting for metal arts. However I do want to be able to do a few brackets and such. What really got me looking at this is the pipe notching add on. I use a lot of pipe in my studio projects and the angles and sizes are numerous. When I freehand them I end up doing a LOT of grinding. I have a Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 60i with an SL50 torch. I'm trying to figure out if I have to buy a different torch or can somehow modify this one or add a port to control the on/off. If anyone has done this I would be grateful to know. I'm not really sure where to start this portion.

@timandrew4515 thank you, I guess I don't have notifications turned on for TH-cam. Hell I would be thrilled to have even a 24x24 if just to cut link tabs. I have a mud truck I bought and it needs to be rebuild. And I made shock tabs with my plasma last year.....ugh I made one just smaller then I needed and cut 16 of them, then drilled holes, unfortunately this proved harder because I got steel from work, half of it was 1/4 AR plate. Then bolted 16 tabs together in in 1 sets of 8 and went to town with the grinder. Did this with my 1 5/8" torsion bar 16" drop arms. Needless to say if I can eliminate grinding other then grinding a spot for the ground I just may be able to get projects done.

The "filtering" you are doing for the THC... ..... thats due to high frequency start plasma cutters, right? And after you add the filtration/isolation.....does that mean a high frequency start plasma cutter will then work correctly? One more question that I came up with.... Since you are building it yourself....there is really no limit on size....you COULD theoretically build one 4 times as big.........just change all the coordinates in the software, right? (probalby have to truss the arm a bit...maybe counter balance, but still doable, right?

Despite my deepest respect for your work I will definitely encourage my fellow hobbyists to read my experience and reconsider whether this plasma build is your best way forward.
I acquired the drawings from JDG invested and everything needed and here is my learning:
Most of the stuff presented is linked to from US suppliers. Here in Northern Europe this means more than doubling the prices due to transportation and import fees. I spend a lot of hours searching for local suppliers and I only found prices far higher than suggested from JDG.
The X-axes profile is described as a 50x50x1.5mm tube, and it cannot be replaced by profile with thicker walls.
None of the European suppliers I work with does have this in stock since it is a rare size seldomly used.
Despite my OK experience with 3D printing (Ender 3) I never ended up with acceptable prints. The printed objects have thick walls and 85% infill, which is beyond my 3D printing skills. I wasted more than a kilo premium filament trying.
    Conclusion:
I found a cheap engraving machine on German EBay with almost the same work area. It took me 6 hours to change it to a plasma cutter and I spent the same amount as my JDG attempt

I bought the plans for the CNC table they are great. Easy to build. However , I just got to the point where I'm ready to make some cuts and my titanium 45 plasma cutter torch won't start off the switch relay for some reason. I check continuity on the torch trigger and on the relay. So I have the correct wires connected to the torch relay. When I fire the relay the torch won't start. But when I pull the torch trigger manually it fires no problem. Looking for any ideas that can help please?

I also have a titanium 45 and am interested in the answer to this question before I start the build.

@@SJB64 the trigger wires have to be spliced into inside the housing of the plasma cutter body. There are videos on TH-cam of how this is done. After you make the splice the trigger on the plasma cutter torch handle needs a piece of velcro around it so it can be held shut.

Has anyone been able to use this table with an older miller plasma cutter? I have an old miller 375 x-treme with the ICE-27T torch and not sure if it will work as it’s not low frequency?

Fusion 360 is still free for personal use. FreeCad also has CAM and post processors for grbl so it should work.

As much "FUN" as I am having with this project, I can't figure out how to install the post processor to Fusion 360. The vids I find talk about clouds and libraries and preferences none of which do they show how to find these things. I've watched your video, and it doesn't explain it either. I need an Idiots Guide to do this install. After 3 months doing this build that has had everything that can go wrong, go wrong I'm frustrated. After getting the wiring done, I find out the motor wires are supposed to have Drain wires. Never seen anything about that. The other thing I can' t find are the files to make the Z mounting plate or the files to make the roller if I decide to do that. Maybe I'm just stupid, or I have incomplete instructions I don't know. I am WAY over budget and still need the water pan and the slats, also no mention of slats. I seem to be the only guy having these problems. I don't have a young computer geek to turn to. I really need some clarification here.

How can it be only 350$? I made a few big heavy CNCs in last 10 years (with ESP32 and AtMega2560 electronics designed by myself, balls screws, NEMA 34 12.5Nm strong servo steppers, 2.2KW and stronger vfd water cooled spindles) so I can cut steel with these machines and OK it could be made for under 1000 euros. I made cheap 2.5" touchscreen THC. BUT!!! I spent 600 euros for 3x400V 100A plasma! It can not be found cheaper! How can you find so cheap under 350$ plasma?
