I remember when they came out. The 5300 and the 190.. they had a recall program on them. And I remember the PM5200 RMA program.. I fixed so many that I can’t even count.. back in the day..
@@3lectr1c Painting instead of retrobriting may cause it to lose originality and to sometimes chip off, but the reality is: it sheids the plastics from further UV rays decaying it and doesnt make it EVEN more brittle.
I have stacks on stacks of 5300s. A few are ce models but I'm not sure if any work now since they all tend to end up with white screens after a while, even without damaged cables. Eventually I'll see if a recap can fix one. That is, if the screens haven't developed vinegar syndrome in the meantime. Vintage computers, amirite?
How and why did you end up with stacks of these things? White screen without cable damage is a tough one - I haven’t heard of that failure before on these
Thanks! I’ve mostly moved past iOS videos as a content type for me, I’m just not that into it anymore. I do have at least one more coming up soon though.
Haven’t done it. Tubefixer might work. Just so you know by the way, I do reply to comments on my old videos so you don’t have to comment on my latest to get a reply.
Bro please help me , I have an iPhone 5 c , I want to play some game boy advanced games on it . Could you please give me ipa link for gba4ios that supports the 5c . As well as which software do I use for sideloading
I’ve never used that emulator so I don’t have a link. My second most viewed video is a side loading tutorial, so go there to get that set up. Also, just so you know, I do reply to comments on my old videos, so if you leave a comment there then I will see it 🙂
You are lucky to have a 5300ce...Its the best of the worst. Most of the models are 5300cs and 5300 and 99% of the time when I find them have nuked batteries and mobo or just play a weird and creepy chime. the 1400c/133 or the korean/japan 2400c, I must find them someday
The batteries are what kills them. The cells inside are the absolute worst in terms of leakage! I’m very happy to have a solid one. I even have a NOS battery now that still holds a charge. I’ll be rebuilding it at some point soon to increase the runtime.
@@3lectr1c and the only remaining working apple stuff I have is the iBook G4 1.2GHz and a Late '06 iMac 20". Both have vinegar syndrome and the iBooks HDD decided to quit, and taking that thing apart is a total nightmare as I first repaired it with a charge port unjamming and I bent that pesky sheiding...I also had an iBook G3 Clamshell SE gray, made 3 beeps someday, tried booting without external RAM, did the same thing and started smoking all the sudden...Dumped it unfortunately AND THE MOST INTERESTING of all...and I dumped it also. A trash picked IBM-LG (Yes LG!) ThinkPad 560x with a 133 Pentium, its an early netbook and lacked any external drives. It had a lot of parts missing like the palmrest, the display was also shattered and worse...the mobo was fully dead.
I used to have a 5400. Talk about bringing back memories. Thank you for sharing.
So awesome you got your 5300ce working again.
Thanks :)

Apple sure did make some problematic systems in that time. What were the 5200’s common faults?
Nice restore. An undamaged 5300 (and the 190) is rarer than hens teeth.
They’re getting that was aren’t they.
Now I’ve just gotta find a 190cs!
@@3lectr1c I have a 190 I use to test battery rebuilds. It’s a very temperamental machine.
like they are going to be extinct soon if the plastics decided to crumble into dust
We’ll keep ‘em intact with 3D printing and epoxy.
The temperamental 190 might need a recap of the DC section on the logic board

Can you do more Ipod touch guides and stuff?

Hello, i want to ask you something. Do have a method to fix the ios6 yotube in 2024? The tuber fixer don't work anymore

Oh, thanks
The highest-end configuration of the late 2023 MacBook Pro has beat the PowerBook 5300ce because it retails for $7,199.
Not accounting for inflation. If you’re not though, the highest end wallstreet also cracked 7 grand.
