If you have a coord you want me to compliment, send me a picture and the name(s) of your main piece(s) to theevelingvideos@gmail.com with "gas me up" in the subject line! 😊 When I have enough I'll do a short!
An addition to the second hand section would be Poshmark. I was able to find a few JSKs there a while ago, and I often find things that may work as additions to a coord (such as blouses from Liz Lisa)
@@honeykawaii5076 Glad this could be helpful! I'm planning to make a short with a quick list of a lot of specific sites in the future if that would be a good resource as well ❤️
@@jeefjeff3640 I know Angelic Pretty and Axes Femme have locations in Shanghai, and I've heard you can find lolita at the DMC Shopping Center as well 😊
I find Lolita super cute. But I honestly have no clue how to make Lolita fashion suit me. Like I see a pretty dress that looks great on someone else. But then I am just lost to see how it would look good on me. Any recommendations for styling for Lolita?
@@yusaki8064 Part of it is definitely finding your personal style - I would never call myself a country guy, but I've found it's my favorite genre of lolita to wear 😅 Experimentation is important! Everyone has their own methods for building coords, and which options for accessories, colors, and silhouettes suit their preference...but generally I think I would advise this: ⭐ Do you have a style or colors you feel most comfortable in outside of lolita? Ex. If you wear a lot of jewel and neutral tones you may find yourself starting out classic. Of course, your range will likely expand as you experiment, but your comfort is most important - start easy and work your way up to things that are more adventurous. ⭐ Focus on two colors and a neutral, or one color and two neutrals (for example: pink/blue/white or green/white/black). As you become more comfortable, definitely try out more colors and different combos :) ⭐ Look for things you like in non-lolita garments and fabrics that you can bring into lolita - for example, certain patterns you like (maybe harlequin, or florals). Certain accessories such as waist cinchers (sometimes called corset belts) can also be used to alter the silhouette of a dress, so if you find you like a dress but aren't into, say, an empire waist, you may find a waist cincher helpful :) If you haven't seen my shorts on the substyles of lolita, maybe seeing examples of them would be helpful to examine what you might enjoy wearing! But I won't lie, I definitely jumped right into lolita fashion myself and developed my style along the way. Secondhand lolita is great for this if it's something you'd like to explore. Hope this is helpful! ❤️
@@TheEveling Very helpful! It’s generally something I’m a bit nervous about because I love the style but have problems with social anxiety and people staring at me, so I feel like I might start off with something that looks a tad less OTT than I might usually like. Maybe a more dark academia style.
@yusaki8064 Yeah, I've only recently become more comfortable with OTT even though I've always admired it 😊 It's great to have something to work toward though!
