Myself as a public transportation user, i hope the BRT/bus lanes don't get hijacked by EV and HOV users. end up with slower bus lanes with car conjestion.
Honestly they should only have one lane be for private vehicles and the rest be for public transit. You wanna own a car and commute into NYC? Fine, but not at the expense of others who are willing to commute by transit.
When I first read the first few words, I thought you were stupid but now I realize that that’s a great idea economically, financially, and environmentally.
I agree the bus lane should be for public transportation only. The push is from the EV community to allow Tesla's and EVs in the bus lanes. Which i hope does not happen. You just defeated the point of bus lanes.
been saying for years that private vehicles shouldn't even be ALLOWED to enter Manhattan at all, save for emergency situations and things like that. once you've lived in or immediately around Manhattan in the other boroughs, you start seeing things a little differently.
For those of you wondering why MTA Buses are in New Jersey, it’s normal. They go through New Jersey without stopping there just to get to Staten Island and Manhattan.
I remember about 7 years ago I took a greyhound bus from Philadelphia to NYC . Ending up taking a bus only lane cause I left at 7am from Philadelphia on a weekday.
I’ll start to commute from NJ to Manhattan.. never on a bus before, is the traffic after 7am turning badly? I mean is the bus schedule for academy on time or always late for more than 10 min?

I see 3 lanes full of traffic back as far as the eye can see probably and there all forced into a what looks to be a toll road and then a tunnel that splits off to 2 lanes if they want to boost the economy then they needs to find a better way to keep the traffic moving
I at times ride the express bus and feel for the folks sitting in traffic as I whizzed by on the bus lol. That traffic backlog sometimes starts at the toll exit 🫣
Incredible I have gone to NYC 4 times by way of the Lincoln tunnel from now on my way I will search that bus route, thanks!

I heard that NYC wants to do a "congestion charge" like they do in London

Just toll them high enough, and use the proceeds for more buses.
When a major highway becomes a parking lot
Bus are relaxing 😊😊
And you probably end up with far more people in that one lane than in all of the adding ones!
It is pretty funny really and ironic the "FedEx Express" is stuck in a traffic jam. Not very express at the moment lol.
Photographylover it's a good bus lane

Nice, I didn't know that
I remember about 7 years ago I took a greyhound bus from Philadelphia to NYC . Ending up taking a bus only lane cause I left at 7am from Philadelphia on a weekday.
I wish I can ride in that bus to travel around on the highway
Bus lane seemed to be moving faster but more traffic in the other lanes than the other one, although ride seemed a lot bumpier
The NJ/NY Busway, the fastest way from Park & Ride to go to NYC
I would still take NJT Rail over this. Its still faster than this.
MTA forgot its 2018
Etho Smith Most Definitely Agreed. I Take The Rails Any day When Going To New York. Unless I Miss The Last Train Of The Evening. Great Video
Not if you're headed right by the Port Authority, or if you have no train stations close by.
Maybe that day but I’ve seen that bus lane at a dead stop also sometimes
I love Park & Ride
Toronto buses have a little on-board computer screen that the driver can consult along every route.
Bravo.
Where did this start at
Looks like this highway need a major overhaul.
Sorry, but that ticket machine is so dated, I still cant believe the Wayfarer 2/3's are still in service.
I only wish they could somehow figure out an afternoon XBL for bus transit commuters going home.
I never understood why people commute by car to Manhattan. (And no, chauffeured limos don’t count)
Atlanta needs more improvement for their transportation
I’ll start to commute from NJ to Manhattan.. never on a bus before, is the traffic after 7am turning badly? I mean is the bus schedule for academy on time or always late for more than 10 min?
That MCI motor coach sounds like it's about to fall apart, where is the comfort?
Is it typical NYC morning rush hour traffic?
Yep pretty much. Sometimes more.
Its like contraflow without concrete barriers, it's too dangerous for bus lines.
Yeah if I was the bus driver, I would shit my pants
New jersey transit?
Save gas, time and money
Woows. That's goods. Finally I won't have to rush for work. What route was this.

Fast forward to 2022 and everyone is now stuck in traffic…
Dang
Excelente vídeo
La ciudad de Nueva York está muy por delante de otras ciudades de Estados Unidos donde el automóvil particular es el privilegiado
Bicycle , motorcycle s Can use the bus lane?

So encouraging more bus and transit usage?
