I was having trouble finding the answer for specific bus route from nj to NYC to beat the crazy rush hour in the tunnel until I saw your video. Thank you for your upload!
so many buses niceee gotta love these coach buses.anyone who dislikes the footage of all these buses on both sides of the highway is an idiot. Those MCI coaches sound amazing.Ive never been on a commuter coach bus but it sure looks cool.ive been on MCI coaches a lot and they are some of the most comfortable coaches in my opinion
It's just a maze leading into the PA Bus Terminal. Won't know how much could be done to expand, even build a new one. There wouldn't be anywhere else to put it.
I used to hate driving that bus lane. Every time i passed an oncoming truck, I'd cringe. I remember a bus broke down right before the toll booth and i was stuck in that line for at least 2 hours
Well done and for 7177 it's actually a restroom equipped bus because it's ordered for 319 Wildwood-Atlantic City-Toms River Port Authority bus Terminal.
I miss those peaceful Gods, Witches and Vamps I used to drive from Translyvania, PA. We used to take this lane in the morning. I would have fun picking which of the 3 ways I would choose to enter the lane every morning. Haven't been out there since the Sun changed, at least behind the wheel.
I found this, and other NY State/Jersey highway footage 2 years ago. I'm a traffic nerd from Toronto, Canada, and I have watched this more than any rational person should, lol 🤎
+Timosha 21 Do you know what type of bus MCI Motorcoach that was that you where riding on in the video? Thanks for fantastic video! I hope to see more motor coach ride along videos in the future Have a great rest of your night and thank you for sharing ! -Charlie F
The 2 orange lights on the bus in front are for braking resistance. It's to show drivers who are behind the bus to show the bus is slowing down using the retarder gauge as its first application to slow the bus before coming to a complete stop..cautionary lights like hazard lights on cars and SUVs
@@davidwilliams9450 absolutely not true. If I can figure it out I’m sure New Yorkers and visitors traveling behind those buses would eventually figure out the two amber lights just like a third brake light. It’s not even complicated.
I hate riding the bus over that train before you enter the tunnel. I’m I the only one who prayed the damn bus doesn’t tip over and fall onto traffic below on the long slow steep turn?
I asked the operator that question and it would cause more congestion though he admittedly thought it was a good idea as well. Many people come into the city as much if not more than those in the morning rush. I forgot how he exactly told me but it'd cause a bigger congestion pretty much.
@@JoshuaTheTransitProdigy I used to work for TRAILWAYS in the Port Authority in the 80's...and YES back then they would shift the lanes the same for "outbound" as they did in bound"....evidently they may have changed that.
It seems like you were standing next to the door, it is good that the driver let you stay by the door. Did you buy him/her a coffee and what kind of camera were you using?
Is it just me or does the 'normal' lanes look to be moving quicker upto the tunnel toll booths. In which case, is this not just causing extra traffic? In my opinion, they need 2 'bus' lanes next to eachother to speed up buses upto the tunnel then merge it into a single lane. Surely the slow speed can't be doing passengers or the environment any good. Can the Lincoln Tunnel accommodate double decker coaches? If so, I think that will be the solution when Port Authority gets rebuilt.
Yes the normal lanes look faster, but if the busses were there it would be full, and also the busses are carrying a lot more people, I think the Lincoln tunnel can just barely fit double deckers, you can see a mega bus coming from the opposite direction
I used to drive the express bus to JFK or LGA. I just KNOW why they called the DBA VIDEO TOURS!!!!! I regrettably turned the bus in one day and resigned (still the so called fans locked me up later). I think I got locked up because I got my first apartment ALONE. You should have heard the Grimy Ass subway commuters. We had to get a NEW SUN things got so bad.
Wow - the sheer volume of buses in both directions is staggering . . .
The amount on NYC MTA busses using the Lincoln tunnel NJT back to Staten Island is amazing.
Wow I never seen that many buses like that cool video..

I agree. I have some footages of riding along the XBL myself.

This is crazy. I have never seen a bus going against traffic. New york is too crowded. Thanks, from portland oregon.
It's New York what do you expect

This is crazy! I just recorded the same thing on the Queens Midtown yesterday (QM11)!! I will upload soon.

Bus 🚌 treamanail
In this video this bus lane looks much slower than the the others normal lanes.
Yet it carries 20-40x as many people
Sooo many buses. It seems that every third vehicle is a bus. We need more of that were i live.

Train Enthusiast wow what a great idea
@@trainenthusiast0903 That would only be a heads up to other bus drivers then as most other motorists would have no idea what those lights do.
@@davidwilliams9450 sad to say but true and nowadays most if not many motorists don't seem to care..causing more accidents

What bus was you riding on?
This is like Driving In St. Louis.

How come the evening rush doesn’t do it too?

Because there is a great deal of city bound traffic in the afternoons, whereas in the AM rush there is not much NJ bound traffic.
It seems like you were standing next to the door, it is good that the driver let you stay by the door. Did you buy him/her a coffee and what kind of camera were you using?
There's actually seats almost directly next to the driver.

that lane seems rather dangerous. its a head-on waiting to happen.
Been there since 1971...
I wonder how many miles are on this bus...sounds very loose and rattly when it goes over bumps.

OK this seems very sucky and I would rather just have a train.
