I bought the album in 1976 when I was 14 years old and it changed my life completely. It wasn't until decades later that that was not backup singers behind Brad, that was him laying down four, five or even six layers of these amazing harmonies. To me he is the greatest rock and roll singer of all time and will always. Long live Bradley Delp and his awesome singing.
This track is simply amazing! I, too, loved Boston as a teenager, and I love them even now, as a 66 year old lady! Brad Delp had such range and power in his voice. It's so sad that he lost the fight with his inner demons! RIP Brad Delp!
Boston was in my top 5 favorite bands of all times. It was impossible to turn them up loud enough. I actually went deaf for a few days at a time listening to them so loud in my car. Crazy teen in the early 80s.....

No autotune, as it wasn't even invented yet. No vocal doubling. No nothing. Just one of the best voices in Rock history. After listening to this, then go and listen to the full song production. One of the best ballads in Rock.
@@guitwin Using compression and eq and a bit of reverb is not, I repeat, NOT the use of computer enhancement or auto tune. Compression and eq has been around since the 50’s. I used to a studio in Manhattan called SOS. And we recorded a number of well known recording artists. So, I’ve used many outboard hardware pieces. Fairchild pre’s, NEVE eq, Lexicon reverb and such. But that’s normal for recording. Remember, a great voice is a great voice and needs nothing more than the basic recording engineering.
He overdubbed with several layers of harmonies, he didn't just do the lazy thing like John Lennon and double track. There's a difference between over dubbing 4 or 6 layers of harmonies, and just double tracking.

Yes--Doubling, Overdubs, Compression. No one's perfect. You'd have to be an Opera singer to handle this live ...
