My point is: it's a 50-50 toss-up on whether or not a cast member or favorite host is going to reprise s popular character they did. Be happy that Lorne decided to do it for Tom Hanks.

When I first watched this live, I cheered so hard! By the way, I love Tom’s enthusiasm in this one. And this timing could not have been more perfect. I’m dressing as David Pumpkins again this year like I did a couple years ago.

PUMPKIN AND HIS CREW OF SKELETONS (the girl dressed as David P - the guys dressed as the skellys) lmao!!! I mean, love it or hate it.. this character has become iconic. I love it, always have.
5:36 I like the subtle detail of Andrew being expressive with his hands. He's clearly motioning them like "WTF was that?" before David scares him. That's good acting for ya.
Manny Moe and Jack? The Three Stooges? The Three Amigos? Three Men and a Baby? Not to diminish this at all... but three are lots of trios more legendary since this is the first time I've ever even heard of David Pumpkins and it's a 6-year old thing! I went and watched the first one. I like this one better, actually.
And now the cameos make sense! Honestly a great sequel- It was funny on its own- but was a nice update. The fact they not only brought back DP, but Bobby and Keenan is still running the elevator- soooo good!
Just think, when Mikey leaves, one day HE'LL do a guest appearance, and then we'll see Bobby as Drunk Uncle, and people will put it all together when they see Tom in the studio, and they'll know they're in for David S Pumpkins III.

I just did a dress up party at work on Friday and my friends and i did David S Pumpkins and the two B-Boy skeletons. Most people didn't get it so we introduced a whole new wave of people to this glorious Halloween legend, and it seems it was just in time to become slightly more culturally relevant then we expected!! Haha
The first time i watched the original one was a few days after it came out when someone showed it to me saying they didn't get why it was funny and like other people were either immediately on board or didn't get it/hated it. So we watched it and i was like helplessly crying with laughter

I appreciate that Tom Hanks goes 100% on this skit, when he has admitted he does not think it is funny. This is why he so beloved and may be the last true movie superstar.

I just did a dress up party at work on Friday and my friends and i did David S Pumpkins and the two B-Boy skeletons. Most people didn't get it so we introduced a whole new wave of people to this glorious Halloween legend, and it seems it was just in time to become slightly more culturally relevant then we expected!! Haha

I have a David S Pumpkins suit. About one in ten gets it.
The first time i watched the original one was a few days after it came out when someone showed it to me saying they didn't get why it was funny and like other people were either immediately on board or didn't get it/hated it. So we watched it and i was like helplessly crying with laughter
No one got it because nobody has watched SNL since Will Ferrell left back in 2004.
Someone at work dressed up as him a year or two ago (sadly no skeletons) and that's how I got introduced. 😂
So funny, right before the show aired, I told my daughter that SNL doesn't seem to do Halloween skits anymore because how can you top David Pumpkins, and then David Pumpkins was back!!!!

It's absurdism at its finest! It's mainly using the irony of literalism; you don't expect such a pointless and obvious response as "before!" Haha. It's just so dumb and unexpected, which makes it hilarious. I love it.

@@bluerider9204 it’s good but you not liking it is ok. Not everyone has good taste. This is anti comedy and anti comedy takes refinement to truly appreciate. Give it some time. Maybe expose yourself to new ideas. Get some life experience under your belt. I’m not talking doing the same thing every day in your home and never leaving. Real life experience, expose yourself to some different cultures etc, you know that kind of thing. Maybe after that you can come back and try it out again.
