Price is good, weather is unsettled so grass is being tramped as well as grazed. Cash in and replace with your pick of ewes before next tupping.
100 percent, harsh shepherding but them ewes will be worth 120 at least cash in and replace there only going to eat ur grass all summer
I’d cash them in that way free up space and mayb replace with a few nice homebred lambs
I would cash the ewes in as the prices are good at the moment, it will give you more money to put back into the flock.❤
Fantastic video will,
Hard luck with the abortions,
You're a really good farmer and such a gentleman,
Wishing you well
Cash in
If the price is good and you have good replacements coming on, I recommend selling them.
Wouldn't be a question get rid of any empties when they are a good price
Great video Will I would sell them not rearing a lamb prices are good 👌
Group B lambing season is near.
Cash them in.
If you’re not getting any return from the sheep, cash in while the price is good
Cash in now
Cash them in
keep an eye on the market up here everything is at good money.
I'd get rid of them now incase the price drops in the backend
Sell them, while the orice is high
The price is good right now. Sell them.
I think you should sell half the emty ewes only keep the smart looking ones and young sheep etc as cull prices are incredibly at the minuite 😊
I'm not a farmer but the sell or keep analysis is just a cost benefit analysis. If you have space and grass then keep them. If not, sell. Good luck!
Thanks for taking the time to film for us when you are so busy.
I don’t have a clue re farming But I think I’ve watched enough from several of you on TH-cam to say-cash the empties etc in. Prices are so good at the moment which you can use to reinvest? However, if you look at the A flock ewes and spot and really good example then I’d give them a second chance!! Good luck with the b flock lambing 😊
Sell, if replacement ewes are expensive but still cheaper than feed/keep empty ewes, no brainer. Ps. I know nothing and am very ignorant about sheep farming. Lol
Cash in. Its a business
Sorry to hear there were so many aborted/lost lambs. It is frustrating but beyond your control. You take such good care of your animals. Josie is doing well. Cheers! 👍😊👍
Prices too good to miss
I think the calculations would be how much would it cost you to replace those A flock ewes next year? Or are the prices so high for good ewes that it might be worthwhile selling them?
Wishing you the best ! I enjoy your videos. You’re a man of integrity and compassion.
You choose your ewes well to improve the flock. Were these that abhorted among your top picks? With the unsettled weather this time, I would suggest keeping them. The market is good for selling, but would you get better ewes later when your buying? Just to think about.
Great video today. So glad the lost lambs found their mums.🙂🐑🐑❤
Any chance the ewes that aborted have something that carries over to next year having issues? If there is a chance, I'd cash them in.
You will find the Suffolk sired lambs a little more dopey at birth but once they get going the weight will pile on.
Dear Will, please stop bending your back! Use your thighs and knees and keep your back straight! U bend over all day and night! When getting lambs out of trailer.... Squat, not bend. Sending good back vibes! I have had multiple back surgeries... Not fun. Save your back now, it will thank u later! Brilliant work!
I actually have got back problems 🤣
Great video!!! Awesome to see you sporting the Ewetopia Farms hat!!! Stay safe!!🙏❤
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Cash them in with price good no point keeping
You always have that one that causes trouble......right Barbie! Hope your Suffolk crosses are spunky, IME the Suffolk lambs just lay there for an hour before getting up. Only did that cross once, never again.
Hi From Burgundy France, we are half way through lambing our small flock
we have Suffolk X Charolais>>>big heavy lambs, plenty of hung lambs due to the size of the lambs, but they are super lambs
hope all goes well for your lambing
Love you videos keep them up are you going to the 3 counties show
Will... Wonder why you only lift lambs out of the trailer and not add a small ramp at the front. If there is no other reason than never considering it it would save you time, your back and train the lambs to use the ramps. Just wondered.
When a lot are a day old they just won’t walk down a ramp so it’s easier and more stress free to lift. On the rare occasion we do it like this video it could be a consideration
I vote keep them
Sell them and replace with younger, higher quality, ewes/ewe lambs
Sell them
Time to go to market. Save resources for productive ewes. Sad but fact of farming life.
everyone or animal deserves a second chance
Do you cull ewes which prolapse
Yes
Sell let you down once dont want it to happen again second time
If they are young keep losing teeth cash
Will you are running a business sell those empty ewes the cull trade is flying at the moment
The aborted ewes will just get fat unless they are kept down on poor forage. Fat ewes also prone to twin lamb disease.
Keep in and let them be moms, if that can make sense for your farm. If it was disease, they should be all week for next time. Love your channel Will, so interesting🫶
