Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of the last comedies to not give a shit about anything, it will be dearly missed. And the genius of Larry David and the improvised spontaneity of everyone makes it one of a kind!
The last? Nah. It's Always Sunny just off the top of my head. And there's other comedies that are doing fine. We have to stop with this narrative that "PC culture" has ruined things. That's ridiculous. You can do anything in comedy except one thing. Hate for hate sake.
@@Magdalena8008s I said “one of the last” It’s Always Sunny, surprised how they got Cranston and Paul last season. The Nightman Cometh, A Very Sunny Christmas, some of the best episodes.
Man, I remember 20 years ago, my elder sister telling the whole family about how good this “new Seinfeld show” is. She talked about the ending to “The Doll.”
"The Nanny From Hell" is also up there for me. Susie talking so nicely to Larry and you, the viewer, is wondering, "why is she being so nice after all of this?" And then the payoff with the sponge cakes being what saved her life was just brilliant.
I am a great lover of humoUr from South East London in my 70 years and think British comedy with its wit, subtlety, dry, deadpan, satirical feel is superb but apart from a few exceptions being Sgt Bilko with Phil Silvers, Ally McBeal with Calista Flockhart, Married With Children, Groucho Marx oneliners,I have never really taken to most USA comedies and their wretched laughter tracks.. Still, then I discovered 2 magnificent Stateside Shows. First, the British influenced: VEEP with JLD which was 95/100, and "The Creme Del La Creme" DURB with the genuine comedic genius of Larry David ably supported by a wonderful cast. Truly hilarious and exceptional
I personally think the best episode is the Interior Decorator. The writing is so perfect. The way every scenario links together feels flawless. The bad finger, the holding the door at the elevator only to be blocked off in the hall by that same person. The whole mix up with the car park attendants, the fight with the interior decorator...flawless.
Man this episode pissed me off😂 , like the friend had her number and wouldn’t give it to larry 😭. I kept yelling at my tv “give the guy the darn number u heard her call his phone” 😂😂😂

I love the Rat Dog episode. The best episodes are the ones where he really brings it all together at the end and you can't see it all happening. A lot of the time it's a lot of random stuff that he's written down in his notebook but don't really amount to anything. It is an uneven show but even the worst episodes usually have something to recommend them, which is more than you can say for most TV series.
Great analysis. I think 'Beloved Aunt' from season one was the first true Curb episode when it comes to woven elements all balancing perfectly in the narrative. Season Two is no doubt the most comprehensively excellent overall for sure though.
I was hooked from Season 1 Episode 1... but my favorite episode is The Larry David Sandwich... You don't know who your parents are? I know they're not those nuts! Best line ever! 🤣🤣🤣
This final season, so far, has been the best season since like S9 in my opinion .. hope it continues to be great and goes out with a bang, because it will dearly missed and widely considered to be one of the best comedy series ever created
I agree dude. It’s been getting controversial reviews but he’s been giving us some excellent final season moments. JJ Wentworth and the fish have been amazing
I agree the final season is the best since s9, I am even watching it the second time. The previous 2 were one off watch for me, especially the last half of the previous season was straight unwatchable for me.

There’s a slight misconception about being “improvised” shows. They have scripts or at least a general layout of one. During a take, if someone says something good, the following takes will include that dialogue, and they’ll build on it. It’s not like they say something on the fly in one take, and it makes the show. They’ll rehearse it dozens of times. It’s still great, but I hate when they call shows improvs.
One of the show's original executive producers and directors (Robert D. Weide) was once asked why they decided to make the show semi-improvised. He replied that Larry simply didn't like writing dialogue.
You're missing out, Larry David's presence is all over Seinfeld. Not fan of the laugh track myself, but willing to overlook because of the shows quality
One of my favorite episodes!! The little girl’s name isn’t Sammi… it’s Tara Michaelson. She actually showed up in the series finale to testify against Larry!
Think you're pretty spot on with the best episodes of the show, however two of the newer episodes I think deserve a mention are "A Disturbance In The Kitchen" and "The Shucker".
Just started it a couple weeks ago, and while this episode killed me, I’d honestly have to say Beloved Aunt is the episode that sold me on the show in season 1. The typo in the obituary made me laugh so damn hard
The Doll is one of the best television episodes ever made in my opinion. There isn't a single plot point that isn't either a payoff to something before, or a set up to something else later.
This is really good timing since the past few seasons of the show have been less than stellar. Seasons 1-9 are the show’s best and you’re right that the Doll episode is the best.
@@t221000 It became a different show at that point. Thats ok though I have 5 seasons of incredibly great tv from Larry to enjoy. Thats enough for me. :)

I always loved this show because my parents got me into it. It’s such a shame it’s over because it’s the last of dying breed. I never watched that episode but have always seen that clip lmfaooo
By Season 2, I realised that the formula of the show was going to be the same for every episode to come. From "The Doll" onwards, Curb Your Enthusiasm writes itself, which is very useful for a series that needs more attention put to its improv than its structure.
My favs are The Therapists, The Shirt, The Sandwich, and the one when they fake they confused the party date and came in day after xd it's the same one with the black D cake and Ted showing up on the fire morning. Of the top of my head, many other fantastic eps besides these
Great video, but Sammi doesn't come into the bathroom. Sammi is Jeff and Susie's daughter. The girl who comes into the bathroom is the Michaelson daughter.
I love how complex these analysis are when in fact these shows get written buy a bunch of guys coming up with funny and outrageous situations to simply make people laugh. In this show in particular, a lot of them are improvised on the spot.
Even though it hasn’t been a show that aired every year, I still think it may be the most consistently great, for longer than any show had ever been. 25 years, since it started. 26, if one counts the special. Six year hiatus, and it still hilarious. I’m becoming a post divorce guy, after long saying pre divorce was better. 🤓
My favorite episode is the one that Larry gets in a misunderstanding with someone.
Is that the one where Susie gets mad at Jeff and Larry?
@@danmorrison8194 Yeah the one where someone violates one of Larry's arbitrary societal rules.

That really is the best line in the series. The “DECAPITATEEED” kills me every time
DEFINITELY
I liked Denise Handicap and the end when Rosie O'Donnell chases Larry up the stairs to kick his butt.
I though Wendy wheelchair was a better match
Larry and Leon took this show to another level
leon was just replacement for krazee eye killa
Leon takes the trope of weekly sage whom star consults for advice (see Mr Whoopie) and turns it on its head as Leon gives the worst advice.
Leon is good but nothing special
Leon is great, and kills it. But the show also became a lot more absurd and goofy after he joined the cast
I agree this is the moment... But just so you know, Sami is Jeff and Susie's daughter, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus is pronounced like "Louie"
Yeah the author of this work is pretty brutally unaware of just the basics.
I have never laughed so hard on a consistent episode -to-episode basis for any other TV show. Hilarity!
