He' amazing because his writing is amazing, and he uses every bit of his vocal ability, which the song is tailored too (advantage of writing your own songs). Chris is just a much better vocalist and does everything Lewis does, but it' so much easier for him that his live performance doesn't show all the flaws Lewis does when he can't hit or hold the notes.
They couldn't give the title to him. He was going to sing with his band and he had a lawyer to fight the contract of American Idol. He has done better without winning.
You know how you can tell someone is truly talented at what they do? Listen to the audience while he sings, they are dead quiet. You have captivated everyone with your voice. True talent! I also love that he recognises this as magnificently written song.
