This tune came out during the time my wife was battling cancer . She was a hot mess , both in her kidneys were damaged one was at 5% . This song gave us hope I was sure she was gonna die . She went through months of barbaric radiation and chemo treatments. Then after a scan by total miracle she was 100% cancer free not one single cancer cell.

They played live in front of 1.6 million people in 1991. PM and MGK have a bit to go to even consider them iconic musical talents that have produced quality music to the world.
I am sitting here crying to this song as it reminds me of my late brother who I lost in 2021 Metallica were one of his favourite bands. The song reminds me of the struggles he had with ill health. I know he will be listening to this up in heaven

Just love the pause which James takes during his solo's beginning at 6:14. It gave a dreamy vibe and sounded so fresh and different. It's this subtle artistry that makes a legend which this band will always be.

Technically speaking, not that great, but just passion and personality wise, he speaks to my heart more than most guitarists. Just wish he would still come up with some more worthy solos, but the latest album they are all forgettable and lame. He earned the cred for past solos.

@@quasar4601 I think it depends on the stadium where they are playing. Amsterdam is famous for its terrible acoustics. But if the concert venue in Phoenix is different, then they should sound fine.

I remember playing this song on repeat when it came out. Never was a huge Metallica fan but this is definitely was of their best songs! My favorite anyway.

So great to see James on top of his game again. I`m a Norwegian and I bicycled from Copenhagen in 2019 to see them on this arena. I slept in a tent in a small abandoned garden in the middle of town. It was just a strike of luck I found it.
The show was a bit disappointing as it was very obvious James was struggling and it inflicted the whole band. Still, I got to see them at this awesome arena in beautiful Gothenburg and it was worth every second of the ride.

I saw them at Twickenham UK in June 2019 and whilst James didn't look great his performance did not really suffer. The contrast to today is significant though. In June 2019 he looked a lot heavier and sadly he had that puffy faced look of someone drinking too much.
But total respect to him for knowing he needed professional help. He now looks seriously fit and lean with superb vocals. And critically he looks like he's enjoying every moment! :)

Awe inspiring and breathtaking, perfect, live to boot, I'm 70 years old, and never listened to metal much, saw Sabbath waay back in the 70's, this just made my day. Especially knowing James struggles of which he talked about openly (been there done that myself), and seeing him now, I wept watching this video.
