Thank you. I'm trying out a lot right now and it's fun to work with the program. 2 weeks trial time for Premium I currently have and will afford it :-)

@@ElliotMosher I am in the Discord group :-)
Sharing and asking questions via Discord is great. I think Discord is a good way to build a community anyway. Cavalry does that very well.

This is great! Would you be able to make a tutorial on boat race style bar chart animations in Cavalry? There's a template for it built in, but I have no idea where to go next to add more data etc. That would be so helpful, thanks!

ooh I didn't know they had an example of that. I'll have to look into it more to see exactly how it works. For the actual data, they are linking to a Google Sheet that has a few rows of data. The JS layer's code looks to be able to work with any amount of data rows, so most likely with that example's setup, you could just relink the sheet to your own sheet of data, and just make sure that the duplicator has the same Count as you have rows. The keyframes on the JS layer's 'blend' input is the speed that the data is changing, so you can adjust that however you like. Since the Duplicator is the main 'graphics' thing just like my tutorials, styling it should be essentially the same method. The only limitation that I'll have to look more into, is that this seems to only blend between 2 rows. I'm not sure off the top of my head how to make that be able to handle more rows, but I'm sure it's possible.

@@ElliotMosher This has already been a big help, thanks! Cavalry seems really powerful, but it's such a different way of working to AE, it's hard to get my head around it. I've found by opening up the Data Race attributes, you can choose what the first and second blends are. By setting the second to the last 'year' in a longer spreadsheet it does seem to blend across multiple columns.

@@georgerobertsvideo nice! And yeah, there's a fairly large 'mindset shift' coming from AE. I think for me it helps to keep in mind 'what if I want to change x later' when setting things up, and I typically approach things in terms of making 'systems' rather than the 'final product'. That way I really only focus on getting the animation like 70% 'right', because I know I'll be able to tweak everything to perfection once the system is built
