    There’s a variant of this I like to do, which you can pull off MOST of the time, which is: when the other person is shuffling the first time, most people show you their bottom card when they are straightening the deck. So view the key card on THEIR deck. Proceed with the trick without switching decks the first time, which makes it even more mind-blowing in the end.
    If you can’t get a glimpse of their bottom card, proceed with the trick as shown in the video.

    • @iWhacko
      @iWhacko 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's exactly what the guy did when it was his turn to try it. he didn't switch the deck because he had already seen it was the 10 of hearts.

  • @idogtv
    @idogtv 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I just had an idea for how someone who knows how this trick is done might perform a "counter-trick" for the other people around if said person has the trick being performed on them. So, assume that someone tries doing this trick to you, but you already know how it's done. If there are other people watching from your side, what I imagine you could do is first pick whatever card, say the King of Clubs. Then, subtly move the key card behind some other card in the deck (pretend you slide it behind the Seven of Diamonds, most subtle if the Seven of Diamonds is what is the previous card in the deck, but whatever you could easily get away with would work). Then, after swapping decks, go for the other card that you slid your key card behind. In this example, you would pick the Seven of Diamonds. Now, onlookers from your side think you're messing with the performer. But the performer will also go for the same "wrong" card. Thus, the outcome is that you have either made the performer seem more amazing for still picking the correct card, or you've made yourself look amazing for actually picking the performer's card. You could twist the result however you want for other people, but to be nice to the performer, you may just want to be like "wow, I tried to mess him up and he still picked the correct card" (as opposed to saying "he messed up, so I predicted which card he would erroneously pick," which makes you look like you just counter-wizard'd the performer, but is a bit mean and if you like the performer you may want to reconsider that route).
    Sorry, just rambling because the idea just crossed my mind and I think it would be a decent way to make things more interesting if someone unsuspectingly tries to fool you with this trick that you already know (but only if you have an audience behind you, of course).

    • @DerMichael
      @DerMichael 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So while pretending to pick a card, you hope for a moment the performer does not look at your deck so you can pick the bottom (key) card and put it somewhere else, maybe even cutting the whole deck as a means to "search for a card", making the former top card the designated/chosen/magic card. Should work as long as the performer doesn't realize the key card is not at the bottom anymore before cutting.

    Think it would be better to tell spectator to place portion of deck on the table, look at top card of remaining cards, and place that card on top of cards on the table. Then just place the cards on hands on top.

    Ah, I always liked doing this one because of its simplicity and how it uses one of the most basic moves for card-finding tricks but gives more "control" to the spectator. Learned this one easily over a decade ago, although the version I did was just each person getting about half of the same deck of cards. Using two full decks definitely makes for a more effective trick.

    Dear Brian the best way to do this is, pick any deck, shuffle both decks, as in for as I do, so deal all the cards face down plus the spectator following then deal them face up so when the spectator starts to deal them face up remember the second card being dealt by the spectator, when they have done this, turn the pack over so that the back's are o on top, so then get the spectator to loose the top and bottom cards anywhere in the pack along with yourself, so now you know the top card of the spectator, then do the cut deeper force, along with yourself, then shuffle both packs off cards, then swop them over o do the reveal
