I'd like to add a list that I have done, but it wasn't a piece of cake. It's called "Two under 1000 feet closest to my house done once." 😂 😂 There was a third, but the guy wouldn't let me hike up his driveway to bag it. Frustrating! Thanks, Taylor, we all look forward to your checking off those peaks on your list and taking us. 🎥
I knew about some of these lists, but some were off my radar screen. Thanks for bringing them to my attention! You mentioned that you are currently "terrified" of Huntington Ravine. I can tell you from personal experience that you can work your way up to doing those kinds of trails over time. I used to have a fear of heights but got talked into doing a Via Ferrata (long story as to why I "had" to do it). To prep for this, I had to overcome my fear, so I took a basic belaying course at a climbing gym. The first time I was 15 feet off the ground my adrenaline was off the charts. But I kept at it, signed up for the gym, and within a couple of months the fear was gone...plus I picked up a completely new set of skills. Now a climb like Huntington Ravine has become fun rather than terrifying. For someone as outdoorsy as you, it would seem like a shame not to push yourself to that next level. Oh, and I started all this at age 56...so for sure you can do it too!
NH is similar to the Adirondacks. The Adirondacks has list of 4,000 footers, combinded with the NH 48, plus 17 NE 4,000, you can get the collective challenge of the NE 111. The Adirondacks also have a fire tower challenge, as well.
When I did the AT I bought an AMC book in New Hampshire called Nature Guide to the Northern Forest, it really opened my eyes to explaining the whole world in front of my eyes that I wasn't seeing because I thought "it's all rocks and trees until you get to the top". If anyone's into that kind of stuff I'd recommend it, you could even check off all the animals, plants and features you've seen as an extra list!
This is super cool. I am working on my state’s (Minnesota) hiking club trails. There are 68 in the state parks & recreation areas. There is a password on a sign you have to find. We get patches every 25 miles with a total of 175. I also love doing fire towers (we have no real mountains here). Really enjoy your vids and am strongly considering coming out to NH to do some hiking next summer if possible.
I love love love this video! It’s perfect! I’ve hiked the New England 67. That list actually just started with the NH 48 but then learned about the 5 in VT and the 14 in Maine so I eventually completed all of the NE 4000 footers. I am currently into the 52 WAV and the T25. I’m about 1/3 of the way done with those 2 list. I post my adventures on Facebook all the time and I get people asking me is there anything you haven’t hiked and I just think to myself OMG there are endless hikes. There isn’t enough time and money to do them all, lol. Now I can just post your video and maybe, just maybe it will help them understand, hahaha. Some of the list you mentioned I haven’t heard of either, so thanks for enlightening me 😃 Oh on a side note I’m a 2 hour drive from Monadnock, since January 2016 I’ve hiked that mountain at least 1 time every month of each year. It’s just an excuse to make sure I hike at least once a month, hahaha. I have actually fallen in love with the mountain over this time too. There is so much history on this mountain. For example the 3 hidden secrets, The Pumpelly Cave, Eagles Nest and the IMP Face are not marked on the map so it’s up to you to find them, really cool to do. There are also an incredible amount of different routes to take too. I can always find a way to avoid the crowds, lol. I’ve almost completed the redlining of it. It was the first mountain my now wife and I had ever climbed up and down. That was 2013. We also got married there in 2017. That was amazing day! We had hiked up Washington once a couple of years earlier but took a ride down the Auto Road do to lack of sunlight. We had no business hiking that mountain back then. I have since hiked it in winter which was pretty incredible to say the least. Oh yeah, don’t sweat Huntington, it’s really not bad. Just maybe avoid it when wet. I am glad I came upon this video. I am in the process of setting up my next set of hikes and being a White Mountain guy my mind gets stuck on 4,000 footers and I am not really in the mood to start those again, yet. Thank you for explaining the requirements for a mountain to be on the NH 48. I hear too many people that think that there are only 48 mountains over 4,000 feet. I am planning on doing a couple of playlists for some of the lists. Though I finished my 48 in 2017, I am considering re-doing it so I can record them to share on my channel. I so want to do the Winter 48 but doing Washington and the higher summits in the Winter scares the daylights out of me. I so want to see what Mt. Washington is like with few to know tourists. I love your videos as it keeps me motivated to get back out there. Where'd you get the poster of the 48 with the pictures representing the summits? It's great.
I know this is New Hampshire-centric but adding NewYork to your scope adds the Adirondack 46 list (peaks originally found to be over 4000’, though now 42 are measured as above 4K); the Catskill 35 over 3500’; and the Northeast 111: all 4000’ peaks in New England (67) and New York (44).
i would love to have lists like those for close to where i live! i would be totally into checking them off. but where i live (berlin, germany) there is really nothing. not even one real mountain. time to move. ps: youtube sent me to your channel because i love watching gear videos. i like the way you are organized and plan stuff, so i try to catch up now. :)

You can come out to Colorado and start on your 14er list. We have 58 of them you can work on. Or try the 13ers, we have 637 to choose from. Plenty of options.

These are great lists! I hate the ladders that are just rungs embedded in rock. I would get to the top, turn around to see where I came from and it would freak me out. The question I get most often about NH: “What happened to The Old Man Of The Mountain?” Some people insist that it was human evildoers but they’ve never experienced a New England freeze/thaw season. 🤣 My scariest moments in NH have all been on the Attitash Mountain slide. Coming around the corner and finding someone stopped cold, and the time I was going WAY too fast and flipped the little cart you ride in. Keep up the good work. You’ve obviously spent a lot of time compiling these lists, 🤗
Thare are 2 kearsarge MT hikes there one in Conway and in central N.H. there kearsarge MT in Warner and Wilmot with acctule 4. Trails the short trail is .half mile or you can park at the bottom and walk up the mountain witch is 5 miles a nice walk. Or you can go to Wilmot and you can hike up one of two trails a little harder to hike.
Taylor: Would you consider hiking at the Henry Laramie Wildlife Management Area Fish and Game land. I still have my testimony supporting a bill to rename the Enfield WMA the Henry Laramie WMA. Maybe read it along the way. Learn about the people who had the forethought to preserve these areas. Something very different to add to your channel.

...I thought REDLINING was around 1,400 miles, curious as to where you got your info... (*I've logged almost 43% of the "30th edition" AMC guide, which put me just over 600 miles) Funny though, I didn't realize there were that many lists for NH! And, is that the same bear from the video you filmed your reaction to seeing a bear? I am taking 1-10 October off, staying in a cabin in Bartlett and hiking everyday. We're looking to complete the Central White Mountains/Crawford Notch and the Southern New Hampshire 52WAV mountains as well as the Mt. Morgan/Mt. Percival loop and Arethusa Falls/Frankenstein Cliffs loop. The 1st of October can't arrive fast enough! Congrats on almost finishing up the Castle in the Clouds list! Which two do you have left?

Taylor the Nahamsha Hiker No kidding. There are 14ers in Colorado you gain less than 3k of elevation and some you gain upwards of 5k. Same as the Whites. We start at 1500 feet, they start at 10k feet....
Taylor the Nahamsha Hiker He’s never hiked in Northeast. He has no idea. I’ve hiked plenty in the West and it’s awesome and challenging, but so are the Whites.

There are a lot of lists! I have completed done the winter single season 48 ! 2 times! I have also completed the winter 67 !
I also get a lot of my motivation from completing & connecting trails & marking them on my map!

Have you ever thought about hiking the tallest peaks in all 50 states? I am currently working on the east coast state peaks still.
