Some one famous on the internet calling deathstroke one of the best ninja's (apparently defined here as assassin), makes me very happy. And that means he is getting more popular. I really love that guy.
He is "vain", he can not let a fight down when challenged even if the person is clearly 20 times stronger or if the enemy is immortal. He needs to be the best, even if it can and probably will cost his life. But as long as he lives he will fight and that is the way to defeat him, a lot of fights in a small period of time, against stronger opponents. Or you could kidnap his daughter Rose and hope you do not leave an opening for him to exploit. Or send his son after him, because he can not kill his only son. Or threaten to blow up his wife's grave, to make him go berserk... So those are his flaws. Vanity, family issues and anger issues.

@@TheCh33ks Sounds like you are Butthurt because your edgy toxically masculine headcanon wasn’t real. Yeah it could have been executed better but you Star Wars fanboys are crazy.
The biggest problem for me with Naruto is how nothing changed. In the beginning we are told that children are trained to become ninja as young as 8, they are taught to never show emotion and to always be loyal to the village no matter what and if they leave they will be killed, they are thrown into life and death situations and made to kill each other during the chuunin exams, some are forced to have giant monsters put inside of them and hated by their entire villages, people are experimented on or kidnapped for their bloodline powers. Then later in the series Naruto wants to stop the cycle of hatred. He makes promises about fixing the shinobi system like ending how the Hyuuga higher ups makes the lower branch into slaves and much more but he never changed anything. Naruto once wanted to find his own ninja way but by the end the show and Naruto tell us to "endure" exploitation and being treated like trash from higher ups and not fight back, hell Naruto even agreed to never reveal the truths about how the higher ups of his Konoha killed off one of their own clans. But maybe that's to be expected because Naruto only wanted to be hokage so "The whole village will stop disrespecting me and treat me like l'm someone important" not so he can make the world a better place. Another thing that sucks is guys like Sasuke who had his entire clan murdered by Konoha is now loyal to that same place, Orochimaru who experimented on people and was responsible for attacking Konoha got away scott free and is allowed to continue his experiments, Kakashi is loyal to konoha eventhough they made his father commit suicide after he chose his friends over completing a mission and got hated by everyone in Konoha even those he saved and the weaker villages are continuously being exploited by the big 5. The good news is other shounen like One Piece, Kill la kill, Fullmetal Alchemist and others are the exact opposite of Naruto and they fight against corrupt governments and not just passively endure oppression.
What makes you think none of that was changed by the end of Naruto? Pretty sure the Hyuuga are changed. Also Full Metal Alchemist is a insultingly basic battle of good vs evil with generic “bad guys are bad” antagonists and is incredibly ham-handed, don’t get me started on that elitist Social Darwinist a-hole Oliver Armstrong (who is a walking stereotype of a “STRUNG WYMN”) who gets away with murdering tons of innocent soldiers just doing their jobs, the whole government conspiracy was really contrived.
Kill la Kill has characters like Satsuki and the elite four getting their actions whitewashed and one-dimensional cartoon antagonists like Nui and Ragyo, seriously, Satsuki’s whole “I was molested by mommy” backstory was an asspull that felt like a cheap attempt to suddenly make her sympathetic even though it isn’t really explored and shown how it affected her.
@@Zelink108 Boruto shows that nothing has changed and shinobi are still competing in the chuunin exams, they're still training children to be ninja despite all the chaos that it has shown to cause in part one, Orochimaru is free to continue his experiments and has never been punished but is just undersurvaillance which is basically of the hook from him despite all the chaos he did like attack konoha and kill the 3rd hokage yet Naruto works woh him in gaiden like he's an old friend.
The only reason Orochimaru hasn’t been fully punished for his actions is because they need him for the Otsutsuki threat, but that doesn’t mean his actions are glossed over, Sasuke brings it up in that tie-in novel, which was also adapted in the anime before the final wedding episodes, and it’s also brought up in Mitsuki’s arc in Boruto by Tsunade. Orochimaru is still continuing his experiments tho like that Shen guy and Mitsuki. And just because he stopped caring about konoha how do we know he isn't hurting anyone else? Also, how do we know he's helping against the ootsuski. Plus, Naruto has horrible characters like Itachi who ignore 3rd's orders for a peaceful resolution in chapter 590, foolishly brought a rogue ninja to konoha to kill innocents in their sleep which made konoha weaker as they lost man power, did nothing whilst that same rogue and Danzo harvested Uchiha eyes for their own personal vendetta, also did nothing when Danzo removed Shishui's eyes, traumatized and put his younger brother in a genjutsu that would make him loyal to konoha, told his younger brother to kill his best friend which would make him a criminal. Then he joins the equivalent of ninja ises and makes them stronger by helping them capture biju, even attacking his own home on one occasion and doing nothing to spill the beans or slow them down in any way. Itachi could have told Kakashi in that genjutsu of Akatsuki's plans but he didn't. He even left Orochimaru alive and didn't finish him off. Yet he's praised as a hero or someone who loves his brother and will do anything to protect konoha yet his actions are often contradictory to the praise he gets. You may be right about Satsuki and Armstrong but at least they learned from their mistakes. I enjoyed Naruto for a time, not as much as I used to back then as I've mostly phased out of it, but now and then I revisit for the lulz. And no, it doesn't bother me if people don't like it, after all we all have our faves and dislikes. Sage here gave a good and well-thought-out reason why he doesn't like it, and I actually agree with what he said.
Goddamnit, Great Sage; That super-retro Media Blasters logo caused a spit take on this end. Luckily I used my geek-magic to project the spit away from my monitor. I guess this teaches me not to watch Anime Abandon while sipping coffee :)
5:51 Okay...Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry was funny because boys that age really do compete over most everything. At least their personalities stayed intact! This is just pathetic.
Maybe you should consider that the way Ninjas are viewed in Japan is inherently different from how they're viewed here. Ninjas aren't exotic to them, they simply are Japan's equivalent to spies. So saying a Ninja can't work as the protagonist is like James Bond can't work as the protagonist.
17:47 was that a hint for DBZ for Toonami month sage,or am I just putting way to much thought in this. I'm probably putting way too much thought in this
+The illuminati I agree. It took over Toonami from the 2007-2008 period. Back then, the block was 1 hour Naruto and 1 hour everything else. They gave all the advertising to Naruto and acted like everything else doesn't exist. They claimed that Naruto was everybody's favorite show. They acted like the audience would cry during the commercial breaks of Naruto. They even moved Naruto out of Toonami and onto Cartoon Network. They continued Naruto on Cartoon Network after Toonami ended, even though One Piece didn't get that kind of treatment, with the show ending and episodes 170-195 only airing in Australia. All the other series continued on the Jetstream. The first half of Blue Dragon Season 2 exclusively aired on Cartoon Network Australia, and the second half only aired on Cartoon Network Pakistan. Naruto had every single one of the movies that they had access to at the time air, even though the other shows never got that luxury. They even had the Naruto Hundo, which was basically 3 days of nothing but Naruto airing. They even acted like Naruto was the best action show around, even though TOM had said that same thing about Dragon Ball Z. And then, when the filler arcs came around, the audience got bored of Naruto and because the other shows hadn't gotten any exposure, Toonami died because of that.
You know Bennett, one of these days, I'd really like to see you do like a top ten of animes you actually like, and I mean, besides the obvious ones like cowboy bebop or outlaw star
Just playing devil's advocate here. If you consider that the origin of ninja were farmers that took up arms against their samurai tyrants, Naruto's Ninja can be considered actual ninja.... If they were farmers and actually had any kind of tyrant to oppose. But you get my meaning.
I am proud to say that I like this anime and wished there had been more episodes to it. Yeah a lot of stuff makes no sense but to me it was a fun series to watch and I enjoyed the strong female characters (or two of them at least) as at the time this came to the US there wasn't that many besides Sailor Moon and Magic Knight Rayearth so it was a nice thing to see.

Why do I get the feeling that if he does get to Naruto for this Ninja Month...it's not gonna be a very long review?
When is Bennett going to do a Go Nagai month, so far he has only do 3 titles so far.
1:16 No Sage, you're wrong. That's Rikimaru.
*ding!* "IIIII'm a jackass!"
13:12 Dynamite? DYNAMITE! THEY KILL IT WITH DYNAMITE! Dynamite was invented in 1867, by Alfred Nobel! How the fuck did they get dynamite in feudal Japan!
They are ninjas
5:55 - I'm not the only one who literally answered "No" out loud at the exact same time as Sage, am I?
That ladies hair looks like Toguro's shoulders at 120%.
2:26 If ya got the time, I'd like to hear your further thoughts on Naruto. ANd by "thoughts on", I mean "verbal evisceration of".
So, who was the guy in front of Sage's Media Blaster's title?
this review needed more fart jokes... just this one particular review. Luckily I am the master of adding my own
what anime is that at 0:08
Can't wait for the next one i love Wrath of the Ninja and all of its cheesiness
5:51 Okay...Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry was funny because boys that age really do compete over most everything. At least their personalities stayed intact! This is just pathetic.
NINO
Ninja In Name Only!
I actually own Wrath of the Ninja and it's some of the funniest shit I've ever seen and I am now dying to see him review it xD
Tenchu is the game, Rikimaru was the ninja in it.
hahaha wrath of the ninja, my first time watching that i stopped only a few minutes in and it took me another 5 years to properly finish it.
Wait.
you talked about Derek Stephan Prince, without making a Thick Hard Magnum joke?
+Pathfinder Savant I don't know what that is.
He played a role in Scryed, where he makes an infamous line about this giant gun he's using. Just do a search in TH-cam for "Scryed Magnum"
Oh. I've never seen Scryed. The art turned me of.
I've never seen it either, but its a pretty infamous scene in the history of hilariously bad dubbing.
If you allow it to be qualified as an anime, then I'd bet that Aeon Flux is the first anime put on a DVD.
11:33 Is that Asuka Langley?
I'm sorry for I'm somewhat new to BtS (and I know that this is an older opening), but what anime has the crying boy with long white hair at 0:33?
Genocyber
Thank you. I knew it looked familiar.
Had no idea that bikini.and half.butt pants were part of the.ninja uniform.
17:47 was that a hint for DBZ for Toonami month sage,or am I just putting way to much thought in this. I'm probably putting way too much thought in this
I haaaaate naruto so much
You me and both it stands even with my hate of certain Star Wars stuff.
Nostalgia Works That and Toms redesign.
Toonami needed more american shows, otherwise its the edgy teens block
Toonami is designed for anime, don't like it, don't watch it. You have the rest of adult swim for your low-brow Family Guy american shows.
You know Bennett, one of these days, I'd really like to see you do like a top ten of animes you actually like, and I mean, besides the obvious ones like cowboy bebop or outlaw star
He's made a list of his favorites, its somewhere on his channel...
Thegreatarrowguard12
Never found anything like that
try looking it up in the search bar there's a channel that has a lot of his top 10's.
What is the movie(I'm assuming it's a movie) at 13:01?
5:22 how did you not say shes mai shurinui
Oh so Kaoru's the hot guy with the sword!
lol
10:36 as opposed to mistake which is correct?
Just playing devil's advocate here. If you consider that the origin of ninja were farmers that took up arms against their samurai tyrants, Naruto's Ninja can be considered actual ninja.... If they were farmers and actually had any kind of tyrant to oppose. But you get my meaning.
Jeremy. Thats not what ninja were.... ever. Like, never ever.
Good to see all these comments are all about SAGE'S REVIEW and not his view on a completely different show that he touched upon ._.
but the ninja from Tenchu: Stealth Assassins wasn't named tenchu? his name was Rikimaru
3:56 THE. BEST. GOD. DAMM. COMPANY. INTRO. EVEEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER....
ding.
iiiiiiiimajackass!
BOOM.
Ask a Ninja is releasing new videos again, BTW.
Why in the tentacle rapping hell do old anime characters have giant chins?
Easier targets
They all want to surpass Bruce Campbell's chin.
it's the stereotypical American feature, which is why most Anime villains have big chins.
*****
But even the good guys have big chins sometimes.
;o
Hey, be fair, Sage. Ninja Cadets still tells a better story than Final fantasy XIII.
"plot cliques" yes, that comes to mind with so many anime I watch nowadays
I'm surprised you haven't reviewed Labyrinth of Flames yet. I would love to see that review lol
9:28 Holy shit, the main badguy is....Ayeka from Tenchi Muyo?!
Cool, I actually have Wrath of the Ninja on VHS. Can't wait to see it on the show.
