I remember watching this as a kid on vhs and I thought I was just too young to understand what was going on, but after seeing this I'm glade I wasn't the only one that was clueless 😂
Watched expecting good criticism of a childhood favorite. Got critique that i could expect out of someone who never watched anime before and doesn't know the definition of westernization.
To be fair, there have been a couple good video game franchises involving ninjas. Like Ninja Gaiden (despite being brutally difficult), Shinobi (I heard it was decent), and Strider.
Thanks for clearing up the fact that Ninja Assassin and the Warrior's Way were different movies. When I watched the former, I was wondering why their were no cowboys. :P
Historically Iga gave Nobunaga a lot of trouble, but a rival ninja clan sold him a map of all the secret roads and castle/mansions in Iga, thereby allowing Nobunaga to roflstomp the Iga ninja for their impertinence.

Love this movie, first anime I ever had. Got it in 98 on VHS when I was 7, had the preview for Poltergeist Report on it which I bought shortly after.

The ninja cowboy movie was awesome... and ninja Assassian was pretty sweet too
Sage needs to make a
Yet another old classic from when I was young that I was deeply found of music and all.
Also no love for the shotgun wielding demon king Nobunaga from the Sengoku Basara series?

I used to be a sad flute, but one day that all changed. I don't want to get into what happened, but I am happy to say I am now a happy tuba.
