I think they’ll be UKs number 1 grading service due to the popularity of Randolph

I agree about the label thing!

If Randolph wasn’t involved this would just be another ‘get graded’ imo. For me new companies need sub grades to give transparency for grading as well (only PSA can get away with that one). The video had a lot of hype and a lot of things mentioned and sold as ground breaking really weren’t in comparison to what other grading companies actually offer. I’m sceptical but time will tell, I think this is more for encapsulation than the ‘grade opinion’ per se. The slabs is just like a Beckett slab which I think is better than other Uk graders although I’m a PSA man myself.Uniform labels would be much better imo. I think graded gem boys and Randolph trashing UK graders over the last 6 months won’t help their cause either.

I really like where your head is at here - if you take Randolph and the GG boys out of the equation, what are you left with? I couldn’t agree more with regards to encapsulation for over actually having the grades they provide 👍

this goes both ways imo. The fact he is involved means someone better connected to reach out to experts in grading, design and security to pair-up with the passion and collector's knowledge which is no way near enough on its own. Not a pokemon collector so will just be looking from the outside for now but this is the only new UK company I think have a genuine chance of staying power and significant traction

Your opinions are valid 😂 I believe that ace will be more of a grading company for cards that are collected and not really to sell where as psa cards look premium and people know exactly what their getting before they even arrive. I’m open for criticism tho 😂 I do believe the company will improve in many ways throughout the years to come. I am also very exited for the release date. My favourite pokemon is hariyama I’m going to get the hariyama ex from ex deoxys to get the ace label to keep.

    No half grades = pro
Fairly simple slab. Not too flash or boring = pro
3 choices of label = pro. Why? Because so much hate towards current services are always saying their label designs are outdated. Now you’ll have a choice of 3.
    Amazing security = Pro
Graded Gem working with them with years of expertise and a loyal base = Pro
A known and respected person fronting the business = pro
    Cons? New company.
Their rivals? GetGraded, Pokegrade & MCG who personally are all a joke.

I agree about the labels especially if for example I send off ten darkness ablaze they all come back different, that would be very odd.
However if I send of my WOTC Fossil Lapras (not sending to PSA due to backlog) I would like the best label due to it being my most treasured card, which would make it just stand out from the rest.
So there is potential for it to be amazing depending on obviously the standards it needs to meet for a certain label are maintained.
The biggest thing I think you failed to mention is the security element on the slab itself with the watermark and qr code etc, that is by far the best aspect for me as with scalpers and scammers the amount of fake slabs on the market is insane, if the community develops a way of showing the authenticity of the slab when selling and before it is purchased will be the best feeling knowing what you are getting is genuine and not running the risk for a fake.
PS love the video keep up the grind dude you will make it!

That’s a really good point with regards to your most treasured card - I didn’t think of it like that 👍 You are spot on with regards to the security they appear to be implementing, that is a very big point I missed out! If, like you say, collectors on the market make a clear point of the added security there will be far more confidence from a buyers stand point which should go hand in hand with value.
Thank you for the support ❤️

I think I'd just pick standard label every time 🙂

I just don’t understand why anyone would do it early. PSA will always hold 2x, 3x, 4x the value. It does for CGS…. Why will this be any different?

    • @lewishorsman2219
      @lewishorsman2219 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Because for most people they just want a collection to be proud of. Grading a card in general adds more value to it than keeping it raw as a general rule.
You could always crack the case and grade with someone else
Ace grading aren’t going to say they can compete on the aftermarket price wise as not even most PSA cards don’t sell for much. I’m sat on a bunch of 20th anniversary cards gem mint 10 and the prices are so low it’s sad.
Plus markets change by the hour so I don’t believe in markets much.
It’s a service for people to grade their cards. If you want to make money hold out for PSA and wait nearly a year and a half. That’s on you. Ace isn’t saying grading with them will make you money.

@@lewishorsman2219 difference between making money and getting the most value out of your cards. If you like something and plan to keep it, why not wait the time and get more ROI? Your statement sounds like only scalpers use PSA lol

agree 3 labels is too many, and that the card is and should always be the star. I'd have personally met in the middle and given 2 options. I think PSA labels are too dated and simple, but at the other end of the scale HGA is too colourful and eye-jarring. Ace's supposed colour-match being one plain block of colour is a good compromise imo. Any more than one colour or any patterns getting involved and it gets too messy. Same design but different colour I think can work.

So its basically the tesco value version of PSA?

In their defence, gradedgem offered pregrades, so they do have expeience of grading...don't know how accurate the was, but psa don't seem to be that accurate either
