You’re giving Anne too much credit. She threw away her kids because they’re not hers biologically. She treated them as an extension of her son to be ex rather than individual people with their own wants and needs. Anne is literally the only mother they know, and now they’re being abandoned by her and their father. Frankly she makes Karen look like a good mom. At least she didn’t abandon her kids.
