Joseph, the irony is that it’s the LIV who now are “giving the money” -
Yeah, there always was “appearance” money for the very top echelon
but it seems the sports-washing Saudi’s are simply buying these players’ loyalty
with guaranteed money regardless of their performances or current standard of play.

@@carlfrye1566 it goes hand in hand though doesn't it.....without the golfers there's no pga tournaments!! Its the chicken and the egg scenario pga need players and players need a platform....all thats happened is another platform has come along for the players to play in but it has a more attractive business model. This is how is see it a restaurant isn't a restaurant without a chef, a garage isn't a garage without a mechanic, a hair salon isn't a hair salon without a barber, and a construction company can't build houses without a bricklayer the limiting factor is always the human being using the tool and a golfer is no different his clubs being his tools. I say good for them and if the pga don't like it then they need to change there business model to compete with this new platform its that simple.

It's fairly basic. If this new tour didn't have a signing bonus and paid the same prize money as the PGA tour, none of them would be there. It is all about the money. There's nothing wrong with that, but it seems that only Lee Westwood had the balls to admit it.

The relationship between the PGA and players is symbiotic in nature.
The PGA has to realise that they're not the players over lords and the players have to realise the wealth and opportunity the PGA has given them. But the truth is this, the players have the right to decide their own career paths, end of story. They're not contracted employees, they're basically a personal business and the PGA should remember that and accept progress.
