The climax of Senua 1, where the voices suddenly do the thing (you know it if you played it) is one of those remarkable scenes I'll remember for years, hopefully decades
You can't take a mental health day from a condition you have to live with unfortunately. Even if she's chilling at home those voices and visions will be at it. Might as well make them useful for something instead and get some exercise killing monsters!
The first Senua was one of the most unnerving experiences I've ever had in gaming. Having spent some time in the mental health sphere, it really got under my skin. Which is to say I think they did a great job. Hoping the second one does well enough that they don't get axed :x
Closing of Tango and Arkane Austin had little to do with HiFi Rush or Redfall. MS has invested heavily into Ninja Theory. Ninja Theory isn't going anywhere no matter how HB2 is received
It was indeed an amazing game. I recently tried the VR version, and I've never had schizophrenia, but I have to imagine it's about as close as you can get through media. Definitely gave me more sympathy for people that suffer from it, and I've known several people who do, so I'd like to think I already had a fair bit of empathy.
Wait a minute. Mighty Ducks 2 taught me that Greenland was covered in ICE and ICEland was very nice! Next thing you'll tell me that it's wrong to believe that Emilio Estevez actually trained kids to play hockey at an NHL level on an international tour.
Thumbs up to Oxbox - I'm not a huge Hellblade fan, but this game needs all the exposure it can get right now. For people who need context - there's been a lot of suspicion that the devs, Ninja Theory, might be next on the chopping block for Microsoft (following the way of Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks). They fit the profile - midsize studio focused on shorter story-heavy single-player games that receive major critical acclaim and sell respectably, but don't sell like COD. Exactly the profile of a studio about to be axed as part of Microsoft's post-Activision/Zenimax downsizing. What has not helped the rumors is that Hellblade 2 has received very limited marketing from Xbox. That's usually a red flag from a publisher. The game will release May 21. Xbox finally started distributing promotions for the game this month, after fans started raising a stink on social media. It's been a rough year for dev studios. Here's hoping Hellblade 2 will sell enough and get enough public visibility that Microsoft will spare these guys for now.
Oh good, lets buy all the studios and shut them down one by one. Again. It's themes touch a bit too close to home for me, but by all accounts the games look incredible. Fingers crossed for the devs, I can see how hard they have worked.
Same if it goes bad or good they gonna close the studio and ere is why the sales gonna be so poor coz of game pass and since is also on pc the ps fanboys wit buy a Xbox they get it on pc so yes Phil fck up bad this company is closing and is nothing they can do only if ppl buy the game but that won’t happen
I was in Iceland but not in Australia, so take it with a grain of salt. But I think you are correct if you add cold, strong winds all the time and the volcanoes killed most of the fauna that could kill you.
Around 1:35: Funnily enough, that's actually the reason why Greenland is called Greenland :'D According to the story of Eric the Red, he named it Greenland so people would think it's a nice place to visit
Apparently, a knarr traveled 75 miles per day through ocean. So, that's roughly a week's travel. So, it would take some time, but it's definitely doable.
It’s nearly 600 from Norway to mainland Scotland, and we know the Norse raided, by sea, far further south, including France. If your comment is to mean that it is a long distance, it was a commonly traveled distance by the people portrayed in the game
As far as I know, there won't be VR support for Hellblade 2. I really enjoyed my VR experience with the first, but I understand the demand likely isn't there for VR in general and for third-person VR in particular. I'm hoping the game is successful enough that they'll consider adding it later.
Flying to Iceland is super cheap and close on the east coast. 5hour flight from Boston for ~$300. A flight to la takes longer. I want to go back so bad
Greenland was named that before there were glaciers covering most of it during a mini-heat age that enabled the Norse to travel and spread all over the world.
Yes, it's so brave to portray mental health in a video game. It's such an important issue and a lot of gamers will be able to identify with the character.
This being announced as an Xbox exclusive was about 90% of the reason I bought a series S. The lack of marketing has been a bit concerning given that it's out in 4 days, but better late than never...
So why do you need advertising if you have both bought the console because of Hellblade, and have knowledge of the game if you haven't already been marketed too?
@kingofthebottleshooters5805 That's fair. I don't know what you watch and don't watch. I can't recall myself where they announced the release date, but I do have knowledge of it.
It has more marketing that you see. Seen some marketing during NBA game. And marketing is very expensive, you have to earn all that back before you turn a profit. The smaller games like Avowed, Hellblade 2, South of Midnight won't have the marketing budget Indiana Jones and COD will.
@@StevenAvery4Life the problem is not how much of marketing butt he type of marketing. xbox just has in general really bad marketing and most people don't even know about the games on gamepass right now.

I loved the first game so much regardless of its flaws. This sequel looks like the thing I hoped it would be , except that I possibly can’t play it on Xbox One . I’m glad Andy got to go to Iceland though…
The one thing I'm concerned about with the game is how the directors are going for a "cinematic" feel with it, which a low max framerate (on console) and a weird aspect ratio.
Genuinely surprised that this game is getting a sequel. I liked what they were trying to do with the realistic portrayal of mental illness (I legit had to stop playing at one point because one part hit too close to home) but it wasn't a great game. It will be interesting to see how it turns out

It looks cool, like something I would want to play, but at this point I think I am just going to wait for the next generation of Xbox and play it with backwards compatibility. This generation both Xbox and PlayStation promised potentially good fun games, but not enough quality has come out to merit buying either console. So far there is no State of Decay 3, Elder Scrolls, Fable, Perfect Dark, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, GTA, etc. In my opinion this has been the worst generation of released games for consoles since before the NES. Every other generation of consoles had plenty of great games by the 3 year mark.
My issues with this games is, does the gameplay actually warrant a Videogame experience or should it just be a film. it looks amazing and the story sounds compelling, but if the primary gameplay loop is anything like the first game, (e.g dull combat with damage sponge enemies in beautiful environments) why shouldn't this just be Tv series or movie?

I'm also worried about few people playing it because it is not as mainstream as God of War. It is a very niche game similar to Alan Wake 2. I hope Ninja Theory goes for something more ambitious and a bit more mainstream next time because we all know Microsoft will demand a high player base.
Only releasing digital, will hurt sales. and the fact that half of the player base from the original or more won’t have access, will only lead to it being released on Ps5 and pc within a year. Then the sales numbers will significantly increase.
I'm scared about this game coming out. I loved the first on but sequels are far too often a downgrade. Forbidden West for example wasn't anywhere near as good as zero dawn. The newer assassin's creed games are another example. I hope they don't follow the trend.
Probably going to get monstered but do we think that if we as a gaming community are serious about solving the climate crisis is it perhaps time we stop flying gaming press to remote locations to play a game that can be played anywhere?! Certainly seems to be a conversation worth having.
The aviation industry contributes less than 3 percent to global carbon total, and travel has a lot of economic, social, and psychological value. Personally I think we should focus on the big systemic climate issues first (cars, meat, coal, lack of nuclear, internet infrastructure, etc), rather than calling out individuals trying to make a living, or people trying to broaden their insular perspectives through travel. Planes have always been one of the few instances where finances have been aggressively pushing towards more fuel efficiency on its own because of how tight the margins are. Plus, from the UK, Iceland is a shockingly short flight. They aren’t going to Australia
@@Tinyvalkyrie410 You'll note that I did not call for a ban on ALL flying. I simply made the point that as Andy works in London and Ninja Theory is based in Cambridge was it really imperative that Ninja Theory people and Andy fly to Iceland for a press junket. Although I do look forward to a follow up video where Andy talks about the psychological boost he got flying to Iceland for work to play a videogame.
Lol, no, it isn't. Games journalists occasionally flying to a different location to promote a game is less than a drop in the bucket of things that are causing climate change. The practice could stop altogether and it wouldn't make a difference.
I wanted to come back and check in this “conversation” to see how it was going. Looks like not great, but you also don’t seem particularly interested in the conversation you claimed to want to have. Both you and I predicted this would be the outcome… very little positive response and a significant negative backlash. There are better ways you could have written this comment to express your climate concern, direct people to actually think about it, and not feel attacked (and therefore retaliate.) If this is a “conversation” you genuinely want to have, let me know and I can give you some tips and a place to start. Edit: sorry I’m disabled and write with voice to text so there were typos. Anyway, I want to reiterate that your fear about the climate is A VERY GOOD THING. This approach just isn’t helpful

Hellblade 2 looks great, but I think Plauge Tale Requiem looks just as good.
No it doesn't looks good but not better than this
Can’t even play on cloud 🤦🏽♂️
Microsoft is dead in the water... Billions of dollars spent on all these development studios and none of them will ever release Series X updates for previously released games.
