      Better check what kind of bike and the shape it's in. Most new people to the e-bike craze don't realize the kind of torque those motors are putting on the bike frame. If the frame looks weak, it IS. That's why the good conversations are working good with mountain bikes. They are designed to take a better beating as they were designed for off-road and the mounting on the frame for the wheels are already reinforced for those jumps and crazy riding people will do off road. It's a healthy plus BUT still even mountain bikes are not designed for the torque a 1000 wat motor can and will put out once you open the throttle all the way. So even on that note, please buy parts that reinforce the e-motor by locking it in by NOT allowing the torque of the motor to twist itself out of the mount on the frame. Take note, there are FLAT sides to the bolt that barely fits the mount. This is to keep the bolt from rotating as the motor pulls the bike forward. The mounts were never designed to take that sort of toque, especially the front wheels of any bike! Even the rear tire, with the bike chain the wheel is PULLED FORWARDS, NOT the twisting torque a motor will put out! So don't be surprised if you start to see the mount warp and the forks? Groove start to space out. It's a dangerous sign you wheel is about to twist out and literally fall off. Imagine a wheel flying off doing 20 mph. You are gonna get hurt is putting it mildly and a good chance it WILL kill you. So take it with a grain of salt, your doing something new? Learn what can go wrong and try to correct it BEFORE you learn the hard way. Bikes were never designed to go 20 plus all the time, e-bike motors make it easy to hit thirty?!? Hummm. Use some common sense and better yet search on what can go wrong. Least I pointed out the BIG ones. What you don't know here can and will kill yeah.

    Also on that bottom bracket nut the big one you banged on with a hammer and flat head on the crank bottom bracket you really want to torque that properly because it's easy to grind out that area (I run mid drive motors instead of hub so for me it's really super important but still even on hub motors it should be properly torqued) just want to try to save you from having to trash the frame or buy new parts to fix anything. I'm looking to get one on my bike for transportation to work, my only worry is the battery I've heard stories of a cheap battery catching on fire and burning down homes, im wondering if it would be worth it for long term use or should i spend more towards 2-300$ for a solid reliable battery, also the one you have here doesn't look to be water proof i know there would be days where it gets wet i wouldn't want that to be a problem

      @@zincyellowmach1523 Ah I see it's cool. I mean even it it's not totally proper I can still learn a bit from just getting up and close with the parts. I'm fluent in building computers not totally fluent on maintaing my bicycle. Even just being introduced to some of the parts and what the proper names are I'm learning. Also we all make mistakes I mean I'm no way perfect in building pc's even I mess up for time to time. I could still show someone how things work or name parts.

      @@agentskazzers3482 yeah I hear ya. He probably damaged the parts though and with a little research and a couple inexpensive tools he could have done it the right way. I'm not trying to be hard on him but if you're going to do an "instructional video" you should know what you're doing because people will follow your instructions and that could be bad. Especially on something where you are going 30mph on a public road and could really get injured if it breaks. There are a few books on bike repair that could really help out if you're interested in learning to repair your own bike. Best wishes

      @@agentskazzers3482 I would recommend the Park Bbb-4 book, the bicycling magazine repair book, or Barnett's. Barnett's is a little dated but still good info. Park tools can't be beat as well, it's worth the extra money unless you're only using it once. Some cone wrenches, good quality metric hex tools, a crank puller, and a good spoke wrench are a good starting point for tools. A stand, although expensive, will REALLY make a huge difference as well. Learn the fine art of wheel truing and derailleur adjusting and you will be really happy you did, makes your bike so much nicer to ride. 👍

  • @mot3139

    Inspired by this video I went out and purchased this kit ,(already had mb) and a 20 ah battery. It does work however my range was only 10 miles. I also notice that the bike will power on without the battery being connected for a short bit of time. I do not know who actually makes this ebike kit , voilamart is a retailer looks like. I have a spark whenever i hook up my battery charger to the battery and thought for a long time i got a bad bm battery or something but it looks like something is going on with the ebike part kit. What would cause a spark to discharge from an ebike kit and maybe shortening the range of my battery. ?

    • @GoldGuyRides
      @GoldGuyRides  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the spark is normal, mine has done that before too and my range is way more than 10 miles. Maybe you just got a bad battery, I would try to return it and get a better one.

  • @SpreadingKnowledgeVlogs

    I was going to say get a crank puller and while your at it get a spoke tension gauge but I already see a ton of people commented on the crank puller already but it's worth mentioning they are pretty necessary when pulling cranks, you very rarely find cranks that won't benefit from a good crank puller.

    The bag could have been used for the wiring, just cut a slit in each end and then once everything was buttoned up put all the wiring inside if it's big enough. Very informative vid I want to do this to my old schwinn with ape hangers.
