Better check what kind of bike and the shape it's in. Most new people to the e-bike craze don't realize the kind of torque those motors are putting on the bike frame. If the frame looks weak, it IS. That's why the good conversations are working good with mountain bikes. They are designed to take a better beating as they were designed for off-road and the mounting on the frame for the wheels are already reinforced for those jumps and crazy riding people will do off road. It's a healthy plus BUT still even mountain bikes are not designed for the torque a 1000 wat motor can and will put out once you open the throttle all the way. So even on that note, please buy parts that reinforce the e-motor by locking it in by NOT allowing the torque of the motor to twist itself out of the mount on the frame. Take note, there are FLAT sides to the bolt that barely fits the mount. This is to keep the bolt from rotating as the motor pulls the bike forward. The mounts were never designed to take that sort of toque, especially the front wheels of any bike! Even the rear tire, with the bike chain the wheel is PULLED FORWARDS, NOT the twisting torque a motor will put out! So don't be surprised if you start to see the mount warp and the forks? Groove start to space out. It's a dangerous sign you wheel is about to twist out and literally fall off. Imagine a wheel flying off doing 20 mph. You are gonna get hurt is putting it mildly and a good chance it WILL kill you. So take it with a grain of salt, your doing something new? Learn what can go wrong and try to correct it BEFORE you learn the hard way. Bikes were never designed to go 20 plus all the time, e-bike motors make it easy to hit thirty?!? Hummm. I did discover that it's worth buying the tools for the gear cassette and the crank though.

Inspired by this video I went out and purchased this kit ,(already had mb) and a 20 ah battery. It does work however my range was only 10 miles. I also notice that the bike will power on without the battery being connected for a short bit of time. I do not know who actually makes this ebike kit , voilamart is a retailer looks like. I have a spark whenever i hook up my battery charger to the battery and thought for a long time i got a bad bm battery or something but it looks like something is going on with the ebike part kit. What would cause a spark to discharge from an ebike kit and maybe shortening the range of my battery. ?
I think the spark is normal, mine has done that before too and my range is way more than 10 miles. Maybe you just got a bad battery, I would try to return it and get a better one.
Hey to anybody that wants to build this, I really don't recommend mounting the ESC to the suspension bracket. Instead, I recommend buying this bag by ROCKBROS and putting the ESC in it. That way all the wires are kept hidden. I also don't recommend putting the battery underneath the toptube. I recommend getting a rack and rack bag and putting the battery there. You can wire along the frame so it does not hang.
Hi gold guy, can I know the brand of your smart watch please. And can you send me the link to the ebike kit and battery, I really want to buy one. Thank you.
Have you done a build with a font hub to? If so witch do you you think is better option at the moment I have the one that you have the rest and same brand but it's pretty old and it doesn't seem to spin that nicely I was just wondering if that's normal for them wheels or what a front motor will be smoother and earliest?
BROOOO. Im literally gonna built the same thing this is amazing. QUICK QUESTION you have the 1000 watt. I see the 1200 watt kit. Im gonna use a 48v/30Ah 1000 watt battery. ( the blue one) is that gonna be good for the 1200 watt tire or will it even power it?
Whoooa that bike went under a car. Also, when you build the battery box I'd pad it with something. I found corrugated plastic at work, similar to cardboard. Just to soften sharp blows in case you tumble.

Hi, could I ask some advice? I'm looking to build an ebike but I really prefer the commuter style bikes (where you ride in an upright position). However, these don't usually have gears.. Would the lack of gears be a big problem? I would only ride on roads but we do live in a hilly area. Would the lack of gears be a very bad idea? Or would the motor help overcome that?
This should be the first video that everyone sees when building an ebike. Bravo!

8:15 why that noise? any loosen wheel spoke ? or simply sound caming from "inside" (motor) ?
I just built bike for similar cost what battery are you using? My battery went 4ish miles first ride.. more batteries or larger battery?
How long does that battery last on one charge
He says it's 20 AH, but it's really around 6 AH.
That comnector at 20:22 is the same as an rc car battery connector
Hey to anybody that wants to build this, I really don't recommend mounting the ESC to the suspension bracket. Instead, I recommend buying this bag by ROCKBROS and putting the ESC in it. That way all the wires are kept hidden. I also don't recommend putting the battery underneath the toptube. I recommend getting a rack and rack bag and putting the battery there. You can wire along the frame so it does not hang.
My way works fine too but if yours works then good for you, it's all preference.
@@GoldGuyRides Hey man! No hate! I really enjoyed your video. Liked and Subbed!
I am a 16 year old man i am thinking about buying the kit but I have one question what did you use to charge the lithium battery
A lot of those big li ion batteries come with a charger
My starter bike only has a mechanical brake in the rear (reverse the pedal only) no hand grips etc. What would I do for a read brake?
do you know were you got that adapter thing for the battery
I just found it laying around, you can use just about any connector.
Bike mechanics nightmare 8)
But kudos for not giving up and spread the fun and joy of DIY 👍
Greets from a german Bike Mechanik
How far can you go on that battery? It just doesn't seem like 20AH being that light and small.
Bike laws require the speed limiter be connected when in use on public streets. Great video !
Hi gold guy, can I know the brand of your smart watch please. And can you send me the link to the ebike kit and battery, I really want to buy one. Thank you.
Did the connector for the battery come with the kit? Or did you have to purchase it separately?
It didn't come with it, I just had one in my toolbox that worked fine.
So you gotta get the same size back wheel ? I missed that part ?
You made that look easy. Thanks. Im not ready yet but this is one step closer!
Another great vid mate, just make sure that the rear shock isnt going to hit the battery when it bottoms out
Have you done a build with a font hub to? If so witch do you you think is better option at the moment I have the one that you have the rest and same brand but it's pretty old and it doesn't seem to spin that nicely I was just wondering if that's normal for them wheels or what a front motor will be smoother and earliest?
ok Im late nice build but those brakes errr i dont know .... Have you done anything new?
Does the kit come with a tire and tube
hey how is your battery running after almost 1 and a half year
Whoooa that bike went under a car. Also, when you build the battery box I'd pad it with something. I found corrugated plastic at work, similar to cardboard. Just to soften sharp blows in case you tumble.
hey mate woudd you have a link for the battery you purchased for this kit ?
I’m 67 with 2 DRZ’s and a couple Triumphs. I’m thinking this will be a good way to supercharge my old Bianchi mountain bike so I can use it more. That’s for the inspiration young man!🚴🏼♂️
How are you going to charge the battery?
How is that battery holding up? I have seen them as cheap as $100 on eBay but I don't know if I should take a chance on them. If yours is still good can you send me a link for purchase?
Those are shit, maybe 5 ah max.
I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but the controller fits the bag, it's just tight and there's a slit in the bottom of the bag to feed the wires through.
1:13 That cash register sound effect is like 20X louder than your talking.
Great way to blow out people's ear drums (esp if they're using headphones).
Rest of the video was good though very informative.
thanks for u video but can drive 120 min ?
Hi, could I ask some advice? I'm looking to build an ebike but I really prefer the commuter style bikes (where you ride in an upright position). However, these don't usually have gears.. Would the lack of gears be a big problem? I would only ride on roads but we do live in a hilly area. Would the lack of gears be a very bad idea? Or would the motor help overcome that?
The motor would help you commute faster and get up those hills pretty easily and with speed
17:00 runing a bike that way (with no box over the battery or the speed box) could be a risk in case of rain ?
How is that battery holding up whats the mileage
How is the quality of the build will it last long ? Also how is the battery will it last ?
I want to build one of this for a daily driver ..
Too many of my "just for now" things end up being semi-permanent.
