  • Here is a full build of my latest kit, the famous Ralph McQuarrie concept Snowspeeder from The Empire Strikes Back. In a nice large 1/10 scale.
Designed to fit the Hasbro Black Series figures, it's got that 'real filming miniature" feel to it.
Fully designed in house and ready for you to have a go at building one yourself.
It's taken a long time to get this into reality, and now it is finally here to share with you good folk.
I hope you enjoy watching how this model comes together using clear acrylic sheet, carbon rod and cast details for that super smooth feel.
Thank you for checking it out.
If you would like to build one of these for yourself, kits are available from me as a very limited run (until the moulds wear out) , just drop me a line on
    andy.kites@btinternet.com
    Happy modelling everyone.

I just wanted to take a moment to express my continued admiration for your phenomenal work. Your videos never fail to inspire me, and I find myself captivated by the history and stories behind the designs you showcase on your channel.
This particular design that you featured recently sparked my imagination, and I couldn't help but envision it as a part of a breathtaking film production. What they are and the potential of your creations are truly remarkable, and I have this notion they hold a promising future in the world of filmmaking.
Watching your creative process unfold is an absolute joy. Your passion for what you do shines through in every video, and it's infectious. The way you bring these models to life is nothing short of incredible.
Thank you for continuously sharing your passion with us. Your videos have become a source of inspiration and motivation for me. From the Cape of Good Hope, I send my warmest greetings and utmost appreciation for the incredible work you do.
Keep up the amazing work, Andy!

Wow, thank you so much. If i ever get anything featured in a movie I would be honoured. Most of these recently featured models are from the brilliant concept designs for Star Wars. They never made it to the filming stage but had a very large influence on the final designs and I wanted to bring them into reality in the same way as they would have back in the 70's and 80's, hence the traditional model making process as opposed to 3D printing.
I have some great memories from the Cape, i would imagine its just a beautiful today as it was 25 years ago. Thanks again.

I like how you do the masking fluid over the edge of the tape which seems pretty obvious just not to me until now

Andy, thank you so much for this video, and well done on your fantasically well engineered kit too. This is THE video I've been waiting for from 'anyone' in the studio scale comminuty. Start to finish with all the myriad of techniques shown fully. I've been hoping for years that perhaps (for example) Mr Eaton or Mr Simmons would show such great detail and now you have created a masterful record of how it is done by a professional. You have created an amazing video here, one I will no doubt watch many times again, thank you again.

Thank you Ian. Im glad i could give a few tips on getting through the paint job. Just creep up on it until you've got your eye in, it seems to work for me. Everyone has their own feel to their paint styles which is the great thing about this kind of modelling. Im glad you like it.

Awesome work! Is gluing parts to painted surfaces ok? I've always gone to the trouble of sanding away any paint to ensure my glues are on plastic only.

    • @APmodels
      @APmodels  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yep, its definitely best to glue to a scratched surface. I inserted the tubes through the rear fins to lock the assembly together for that final belt and braces. I would advise always scratching before glueing. Having said that ive built three of these now, and had no issues whatsoever, but to be truly safe and remove any doubt, give it a scratch . Thanks for watching and the comment @FPdesignfab.

    • @APmodels

Hi Olly. All the kits i make are made on demand, so always available with a bit of a lead time as its a complex little beastie to cut, cast and collate.
