Hi Gerry, before flying, make sure that your home point is updated (it should verbally tell you this from the controller) and also, in the return to home settings, you can set your hight of what you want when doing that, it seems that when you did this it automatically went higher and then in doing so it caught more cross wind which made it drift.
Glad you got it back. You're required to have a visual line of sight (VLOS) at all times. ALL incidents are to be reported to the IAA. Set your return to home height at 40m and also it should automatically return at low battery.
I’ve a mavic drone myself. Trying to figure out why it flew away on you. It’s my worst nightmare Had you got it doing one of its fly away as it records you features when it was Ment to come back it self at the end? If you were. Could be when battery went low while doing it, it got confused some how. Another thing you should do calibrate the drone every few flights. They fly a lot more stable when you do. It’s a simple process. All videos on line showing how. Just make sure you have no phone or keys on you when you do and keep away from phone/ ESB lines, steel structures. Enjoy the vlogs. Keep up the good work 👍
@@gerry6420 I think I rushed the last flight from home without letting the home point update. Then when it was in flight and battery level dropped to a certain point it tried to head home, but to the previous home point that it logged. Which was in the bog beside the village, not to my home where I’d taken off from.
Ha)) Thats a very good idea. Imagine putting the willys up people when they think you know about laws. Probably be able to get into concerts etc free))))
🤣 I think maybe your hoodie with Terry Gorry Solicitor may have sharpened his focus in regard to arguing the toss with ye on it. Maybe an ordinary pleb like me wouldn't have had such an easy ride.
Was looking at getting a dji mini drone, more tough regs brought in this year now compared to many years ago with clowns flying near airport, have to register as drone operator 38 euros for 2 years , and list of where you can't fly . I'm at 2 minds about getting drone but would come in handy to save on climbing roofs etc
Don’t know why you had to harp on about being “chatted up to” by a garda. drones can be dangerous. you admitted to crashing them. It is normal and reasonable for people to feel uncomfortable being in close proximity to a drone because they require dexterity and skill to operate and even then they can malfunction. in my locality a teenager was killed when the drone he operated crashed into him and severed a neck artery. Sure the law may be in your favor but common sense would dictate that you don’t operate drones above private citizens whether they are walking on the street or driving in their car. you then used the incident as a cheap segue into the issue of the lack of garda patrolling that area. the whole encounter was redolent of the lack of respect shown to garda in ireland.
I wonder, maybe someone called in and he was doing a welfare check sort of thing, man on a bridge early Sunday morning, someone in a car might not have seen the drone but you facing out to traffic sort of thing.

What is the point of flying a drone??? Is there a monitor that you can see where the drone is flying?
Yes, there is a monitor on your phone or iPad to control it.
@stephaniesamra7960 because it is a challenge...?? maybe even, fun..???
I know youre not snooping Terry but i think some users,of drones thats exactly what they re doing
