Southern State Builders is currently building this house and Jonathan went the extra mile to run a laser across the window grids (muntins) to ensure they were directly in line with the door and continue on to the windows on the other side. These are the types of details you should be getting when you build a custom home. A lot of homes now are being called custom homes but are actually custom builder grade homes, the homeowner is paying custom prices for builder grade material.

I'd rather have a builder with OCD over a builder with IDGAF
❤️❤️❤️❤️
True That!!!
You got a serious problem. I could not hear what you said.
Lol
its because the ones who dont have schedules to get done for closing dates
That is not a problem, that is a contractor that takes pride in his work!
That's not OCD... That's a great carpenter!
It's also called higher that guy every time and tell your friends on how good it is that's not OCD that's just good craftsmanship
Yeah, can't see how this would be an indication of a mental disorder
@@rdoc422 u can't c it's not level?
And I think you fell for advertising 👍
Builder has a problem. It's called craftsmanship.
It's not called OCD. It's a rare thing these days. It's called taking pride in your work.
The guy that framed it was the same guy that set the windows. Took pride in his work. They probably shot all the studs in the basement instead of using precut studs like a lot of idiots.
I work in aluminium windows as a detailer. To have the bars/transoms at a consistent height across one or more elevations is a minimum expectation.
It’s not hard to achieve; know your lintel height, and the thickness of your transom, and work from the top down to the transom centre. Unless the builder has cocked up his lintel heights it will be perfect every time.
That, Mister, is not a problem. He’s got the eye of an architect.
That's not OCD. That's called doing your job properly. I would expect nothing less from my builder.
That’s the way it’s done, son.
Go outside and look at the siding, if there’s a full piece over the top of the windows that’s good. Sometimes the doors don’t work out that way
This is not OCD. This is a basic understanding of doing things right the first time around. This is called having an eye for perfection in design. This is called excellence in eye for detail.
He's not OCD......
HES A GOOD BUILDER.
FEEL BLESSED YOU HAVE HIM!
As an architect with OCD I vet my builders with the same perfectionist “affliction”. In this business it’s the only way to be.
Omg imagine if they didn’t line up. I’d have him redo it. It’s called doing things right the first time. Not OCD
Thats whats called a perfectionist a damn good habit in carpentry if you take pride in your work
ACROSSED is not a word folks!
It's called attention to detail. People paid me their hard earned money so it's my responsibility to do a good job. Do it right and you won't have to go back and fix things.
I don't think that is OCD. It is the sign of a quality builder. People notice things like small relative differences in the height and angle of things, especially when they don't line up. People easily notice that a picture frame hanging on the wall is slightly out of level. Do it right the first time
I design and manufacture things for a living. Correct attention to the small details is what sets an excellent product apart from a good product.

As a Master Carpenter and Joiner of 50 yrs the only problem is this dude commenting on a tradesman's quality work. Would you say the same thing if for arguments sake there is to be moulding fitted? This is how windows and doors SHOULD be fitted.
He's just someone who takes pride in their work unlike the regular cowboy builder
So what?
This is just how we do it in my world. Nothing special, just how shit gets done.
ITS CALLED PRIDE IN YOUR WORK WHICH SADLY IS GETTING RARER
Because normally you put windows all at different hights.
It’s called high expectations from a high end client and doesn’t want to have to fix it later.
Dude I would be pissed if the window lines didn’t match up
i would prefer that none of the joints line up as joint lines are cracks waiting to happen
why is that a problem?? that's THE builder I want to hire.
Problem or just doing the job correctly? What was done was what was supposed to be done.
I'd call it pride in your work.
I would not accept unaligned windows & doors when they are all matching.
That’s how I expect things to be built
It’s called proper framing? OCD has nothing to do with it, if the windows are the same size you match the heights in all openings and it will be even. I’m pretty sure 98% of windows are “lined up”
That's not OCD it's called attention to detail.
Sounds like my kind of guy. The more we build the more we tend to OCD. I’ve done stuff like that but it’s more fun to try and line stuff up old school then double check it with a laser then when it lines up it’s an awesome feeling. Oops I’m getting OCD again. My helper and I both had this problem so we OCD check each other
You'd of complained had it not been done this way.
OCD or not. If the gentleman is helping you, why are you insulting him. If this work is fantastic why are you exposing the fault in them?
OCD is so much better in builders than DILLIGAF.........
Have expectations really dropped that far.
Its why some go into business for themselves....and will never have to look for work.
Look, this guy didn’t snort a line of coke and drink a 6 pack in the morning.
It's literally drawn in autocad that way 😅 he's just following the plans...?
I love this builder.
That’s not ocd. My home has interior molding all at the same level. Called quality and attention to detail.
Not ocd. wtf.
Looks great please give me a builder that has OCD my last builder always had a pint of vodka in his truck and was smashed by lunch time
Hate to tell you but this is normal practice
That's what I would expect.
That’s a beautiful thing to see.
It's a common problem in the trades.😂😂😂
Called doing it right the first time
Across not acrost
What’s the name of that builder?
Nothing wrong with OCD except time consuming
I’m not sure I want to see what your work looks like.
Called.. Damn Done Right
As it should be.
Or he just made the windows the same measured holes in the wall then ordered the same windows 😂 could be that too lol
That's not ocd, that's offcuts
Hitting the absolute basics of good trade practice is OCD in the US? Lol.
Only Done Correctly = OCD😍
Thats not ocd, that ABCD
Complaining about great workmanship really sad
you mean he measured? if the framing was even close to accurate, then the windows would be too....
This video sucks.
Standard prectice lol
Windows are way too low and should be half the size glass is cheap and let's the cold inside and the heat 🥵 inside Windows 🪟 have very poor insulation value
I wouldn’t call it OCD, I would call it doing it correctly.
My thoughts exactly. 👍
exactly. I'm shocked that someone would be shocked by this.
Pretty much bro
Ikr. I don't get it.
I think it’s a humble brag
It is called professionalism, understanding his craft and ensuring that the customer is happy.
Lots of middle aged men with OCD.
@eldesgraciado6690 yep. If I know a car isn't right, it doesn't leave my shop
@@FixIt1975 I'm not talking about business, I'm talking about crazy guys who do their lawn twice a week or who detail their car every other day. Something has happened and borderline autism is on the rise.
@@eldesgraciado6690neither are indicative of ocd, they are indicators of zero fulfillment and having nothing to do with your time.
@@eldesgraciado6690should change your name from eldesgraciado to lacazadoradeporongas.
That isn't OCD, that's professionalism.
Hey, you know what they say about glass houses...
It’s not clinical OCD, it’s called pride, quality skills and professionalism in his work which speaks volumes. I’d hire him any day.
You're giving way too much praise. It's called a "level."
@@angelamapes7553 you’re missing the point. Yeesh.
As a contractor, everyone wants to hire this guy but not many is willing to pay the price for this type of quality
There are lots of middle aged men with OCD now-a-days.
I have OCD diagnosed, and that is something I would want done. I don't really have the compulsion, but I am obsessed once I put my mind to it needing to be done a certain way.
I wouldn't call it OCD, I would call it competent professional work done right.
A problem? You have a problem making a video about a problem which is not a problem but craftsmanship
yea, he's emptier on the inside than that house.
Hes an influence type. A soi boy @@durere
It's click bait😊
It’s called excellent workmanship!!… hard to find these days!🤔
i hate it when people who actually care about their work and deliver a great job are also accused of OCD as if doing the job right is some sort of weird disorder
So I am diagnosed OCD and I don't see a big problem with it. Yes it downplays mental illness and yes a job should be done right regardless. But my diagnosed OCD actually benefits me in my job working in trades. As a cabinet maker my OCD raised our shops standards of operations. I don't care that they all joke about OCD this and OCD that, because OCD isn't an issue. So what if someone says someone is a little OCD for doing something to perfection, it's perfect so just let it be perfect
Well, normal definition... So yeah, dudes weird.
Just not practical if your not in it for the money, then it's a serious dissorder
Everything is done halfassed and in a hurry, these days. It’s not to get a job done. It’s to spend more time screwing off on the job, and doing less actual work. This guy in this video is ratting himself out for this.
This dude has a DISORDER called ENVYINISM;
he wishes it should have been his work!!
envy (n.)a feeling of discontent and resentment aroused by and in conjunction with the possessions or qualities of another.
Not ocd bud it's pride
And not mental retard pride, pride in his work, and few people still have that
@@flipperbooch2194Wtf? Reporting your comment. No need for any of that.
That's the builder I want! One who takes pride in their work!
As a window and door saleperson for 35 years, I can appreciate the time they took in getting this right! They more than likely ordered the windows and doors before any laser line was laid out
wouldnt they all be made to suit the joinery line anyway though?
If you think that level of attention to detail is a problem there is no way I'd want you anywhere near a project for me!
He was just pointing out a factual statement... I'd be surprised if he wasn't the one that done it 👍
@@jeromepayne no, because it’s NOT OCD. it’s called doing your job well.
That bothers me so much
@@Person-mh6xq Also, even _if_ it were a diagnosed disorder, it'd be OCPD.
Better open that check book . Perfection cost more 💰💰💰💰
It’s called having a good architect and a builder that can read a blueprint. Props looks good
Why are there no architects in heaven?
Because jesus was a carpenter.
That’s functional-I’d be grateful for the attention to detail communicated by using the level to line up the windows. It might even be specified in the elevation.
I wouldn’t pay a professional contractor if they weren’t lined up.
That’s not a builder with OCD, that’s what all builders should be doing 100% of the time. In fact that would be the minimum effort involved to ensure you’re doing your job correctly and not half assed with the “she’ll be right” attitude.
Yea the home buyer or whoever dude is, is an idiot
Grew up hearing "those that can't do teach" never really understood that cuz if your teaching well then you've done it lmao but those that can't do or teach are definitely on TikTok
That’s not OCD. That’s pride in his workmanship !!!
It’s no problem at all. Professional at his best. A lot of builders just throw crap together
I take it this video is tongue-in-cheek and was meant as a huge compliment to the builder. I admire a builder who takes such pride in his work.
It is incredible to me how many in this comment section didn't pick up on that. I guess not everyone is used to that kind of playful language. 🤷♂️
Exactly, but people on the internet don't always get it. Especially the fact he was complimenting the builder not insulting him/her :)
Always good to see someone that takes pride in their work.
I love seeing people who take pride in their work!!!👍👍👌
That’s not a problem that’s a serious skill of perfection.
Great problem to have for attention to details. Five Star!
He's a perfectionist and that's the only kind of person who should go into construction not just for aesthetics but longevity of the home or any building.
The attention to deal is great. I wish more people put that much effort into doing their jobs. The problem is you feeling like you have to talk crap about someone putting in extra effort.
Maybe the problem is you don't know sarcasm. Because this was obvious sarcasm to me. But then again, women generally aren't used to this kind of banter, so I understand you would take this seriously.
@@rednas2.079 thanks for coming after me because I am a women. I happen to notice you didn’t reply to the men who commented similar to me. So obviously the problem is you.
That's what u call perfection. On point when finished. Way to go. Beautiful
My OCD acts up when people say “Acrossed” 🤣😂🤣
It made the hairs in my nostrils stick out when I heard him say that.
Heard him right away. Sounds ignorant 🙄.
Exactly! When he said "acrost" I had to watch again several more times! 🙄 Someone should axe him if he knows there's no "T" in the word "across". 😁
That's what I love about great craftsmanship! It's so damn good that you don't notice things like that. Unlike the crap jobs that practically slap you in the face the moment you look at them 😒
its called taking pride in your work!
That's a problem I'd love for my builder to have 🖤
That’s no OCD, it’s common sense.
Learned that my first day of drafting homes.
I think they called that pride in your craft back in the day, I wouldn’t want anyone other than a guy like that to build my house
That's not OCD. That's experience, attention to detail, and planning the project. That's how you land high-end jobs.
How could they NOT line up?? Its almost impossible for them not line up. There would be a serious problem if they didn't.
Usually all the window headers are the same size ?
@@mcross320 you would think
That's not a problem. That's a win for the homeowner.
