Imagine when this first came out in the manga. Blackbeard had just achieved the impossible. He stole the current strongest DF in the verse, he already had the Yami fruit, he was fighting Sengoku and tearing Marineford to shreds, and despite all of this - he said to Shanks "we're not ready for you yet." I was like WTF how strong is Shanks lmao. Like Teach looked unstoppable, absolutely unbeatable for a time. A short time of course, he did run from Akainu. Which...well, now seeing how powerful Kuzan is, its understandable to run from Akainu.
I just want to bring into focus the forces that was present in this war. For navy every single important person was present. Considering that there is about to be a full scale war in egghead with only one admiral onboard, it shows the level whitebeard was in.
I just thought of something. The day is coming where Luffy and his crew will get the same reaction!!!

When ruff senpai said that sengoku and shanks maybe has something going on between them, it puts a new view on shanks meeting the gorosei. I always thought that sengoku was just scared of shanks here. Maybe they do have something going on between them
Shanks has to have some connection up there. This scene and the goorosei for me imply, that they kinda "trust" him and view him different than all the other Pirates. Maybe he has some higher relative or knowledge that he can use.

The only thing we know about xebec is who was in his crew and that he lost to roger and garp, while him being a celestial dragon would make more sense because its heavily implied he has connections with the world government, although it's possible that he could be Xebecs son it would make more sense for him to be a celestial dragon

WB would never insult Roger, and since not many people could scar WB apart from a few big names, the only answer is he's referring to Xebec. Shanks was 1 year old when Xebec was defeated, it begs the question of why would Roger raise a celestial dragon?
Here's the problem with what you're saying. Shanks being Rocks son and having that relation with the Gorosei could be explained, but how would you explain what WB told Shanks about the scar and Roger raising a CD if what you're saying is true?
