Gill, you are clearly the best educator on TH-cam. Everything is so well explained and presented! Absolutely love Gill and her informative lessons. We are so fortunate to have unlimited access to this lovely lady, teaching us in the comfort of our own homes, a blessing that hopefully everyone appreciates! May God bless you always Gill 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Good morning Gill, how wonderful to be with this lesson and take note of where the stress of the word is. Thank you so much for your lessons. Stay safe Gill 😊
Thank you Gill! Another great lesson. Here's a little tip from ne: -ation, -ity and some other prefixes affect the place of the syllable stress in the same manner in all words. -a- is stressed in all -ation words. -ity draws the stress before itself: inFINity, ceLEBrity, comparaBILity... Learning such suffixes will help us determine where the stress moves. 🎉
Thanks,Ma'am Gill for the wonderful lesson on Stressed Syllables ! Yes, sometimes, we are confused where to give proper emphasis on certain words. This lesson was quite helpful !
Respectd dear Madam as I inform you that I've been watching your videos for a long time and learn a lot new things of every coming videos. Thank you for your concern.
Hi Jane you teach really in a very nice way. Your accent is clearly understandable. I have a suggestion for you please start a podcast to talk on the general topics as well people would love to hear you just because of your clear accent. Thank you.❤
Thank you dear teacher GillI am from Algeria we've been taught that marking the stress on a specific syllable goes according to some rules.ex: in two syllable verbs ,stress is on the second syllble and also in words ending with suffix ity ,stress falls on the ante-penultimate syllable.....etc from other rules.I need if you don't mind approving or diapporoving. Thanks in advance.❤
Not as clear as it could have been because you didn't talk about a global way to understand it. Nuns, stress on the first, verbs on the second....it can help to put words in groups, the end of the word ( ty, tion, able, etc....) There are global rules to know that help a lot. I ve just discovered your channel and already subscribed cause I like it. Thanks for your help
Para nós brasileiros que falamos o português, língua de origem latina, essas palavras soam bastante fáceis. No português as palavras geralmente são grandes como anticonstitucionalmente. .
Dear Ma'am Gill, I would request you to come up with the explanation of the notable lines of the eminent novelists like Jane Austen and many others as they are quite relevant even in these present times. Thanks !😊
I'm a professional translator and I speak english since I was 5 years old, but I had never realised about this sort of pattern. I blame ot on being a man.
How do we know which syllable to stress ? If we have already know how to read the words the right way, it’s easy to find which syllable to stress . But if it’s a new word , how do we know which syllable to stress ?
Thank you so much for watching! For more of my pronunciation videos, see this playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLjvCo2ax1ZUeo8MifSBdvIF6eWa1efPdr.html
