But Wrestlemania 20 had the return of The undertaker, had Cena winning the US championship, had THAT match between Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero, had the Rock n Sock connection taking on Evolution where the Rock imitates ric flair, and it had arguably the greatest triple threat match between HBK, HHH and Benoit with one of the greatest endings in Wrestlemania history with Eddie and Chris hugging it out after an emotional win. Wrestlemania XX was the best pay per view in 2004.
If Eddie never died from a drug od related heart failure, Benoit would have never killed himself, people don’t understand how close Eddie and Benoit were. They were buds in real life. It took a toll on chris, I wish chris would have just checked himself into a hospital.
So when do we get the sequel: The worst PPV of each year from 1990-2020...you know so we know which ones to subject Simon to for Retro Ups and Downs? J/K
I said it before and I'll say it again, you can't just watch one Okada vs Omega match and fully comprehend it, no matter how good every single one of them are in a bubble, they form a cohesive story together and are part of a much wider story which is one entire chapter in both men's career in NJPW that goes from January 5th 2016 to June 9th 2018. It's the beauty of NJPW's way of booking which is much different than the american style of booking.
Honestly, full gear 2020 has potential to beat revolution with Kenny vs hangman, Cody vs Darby, ftr vs bucks, moxley vs Kingston, mjf vs Jericho, Hell! Even the buy in with John silver vs orange Cassidy are great matches on paper. Let’s hope that they can live up to the standard !

One of my favourite facts about SummerSlam 2002 is just how many world champs are on the card (past, present, and/or future). 18 dudes wrestled on the show and 15 of them (Angle, Mysterio, Flair, Jericho, Edge, Eddie, Christian, Booker T, RVD, Benoit, Taker, HBK, HHH, Brock, and Rock) held a WWE world title at some point in their career. And two of the three who didn't are Lance Storm and Dustin Rhodes, who are brilliant. The odd man out is Test, and even he's far from a butcher. Just an incredible assemblage of in-ring talent.

I think I'd go with No Way Out as the best PPV from 2009. It had two of the best Elimination Chamber matches in history, both of them revolving around Edge. We also had a pretty fun Shane vs Orton match and crowd-popping JBL vs HBK match.
No love for NXT Takeover New York, that card was literally perfect from start to finish. Adam Cole vs Gargano literally toppled anything else that Wrestlemania Weekend. That includes: Ibushi vs Naito, White vs Okada, Cobb vs Osprey, Kofi Vs Bryan, and even the anticipated Styles vs Orton and Lesnar vs Rollins
I got flown out to Chicago for work in February, and I was pissed because I thought I was going to miss Revolution.. ended up getting done early, bought a ticket 2 hours before showtime and went out. Met Scorpio Sky at the bar after the show and chopped it up with him for a little bit which was dope - super humble guy. But seeing that tag match live was insane!
KotR ‘93 has a nostalgic place for me. I didn’t actually see it until it came out months later on vhs, but I remember feeling sympathy for Bret just reading about the attack from Lawler in the WWF magazine. I was also a huge Taz mark, so Rumble 2000 was nostalgic for me too, really just hoping Vince didn’t diminish his badass character (which they at least waited to do until a bit later lol) Heatwave ‘98 is one of, if not the best ECW PPV’s ever, hands down
You should do a what if video on what would happen if Seth Rollins and Randy Orton joined forces. They could combine their finishers where Randy does the RKO into the curb stomp. If they could coordinate it, it would look really cool and be as devestating as the 3D

YES ROYAL RUMBLE 95' was my favorite. I had it on VHS, complete with NBA Jamz cheat codes at the end. Still my favorite PPV to date, Brett vs Diesel was a book on how to break down a big man.

Hey Simon, i'd have to disagree with toi about 2015. My personnal favorite : Wrestle Kingdom 9. It litteraly brought me back as a wrestling fan after not watching any pro wrestling for about 3 years... And still to this day, ibushi vs Nakamura is in my top 3 match ever.
2018 is All In, there is no debate it's a goddamn fact. Pro Wrestling's ultimate show. Every wrestler worth mentioning not signed to WWE on on one card. Never before, and probably never again will we ever have a show like that
Good Video just for me 1996 - Bash at the Beach. (Hogan turning heel was revolutionary) 1997 - Halloween Havoc. (Eddie vs. Mysterio, need i say more) 2000 - Backlash (still one of the most underrated shows of all time, just go watch it)
On the whole, I liked this video, however, it would be good if you still included the 80's. Furthermore, I really hope that you did not exclude ROH when making this video as they have had some incredible events over the years and that deserves to be recognised too.
Wow Revolution! And I was there! Home town Chicago! Now I am incredibly biased but I have not watched wrestling since 2005 and this was my first live show since then. It was so exciting and got me back into wrestling. So to me for a lot of sentimental reasons I agree 😁 I hope Full Gear will knock it out of the park!

WM 20 was way better than No way out... I know the Benoit incident is terrible but taking credit from the Angle vs Guerrero match and Cena winning his first belt, it was the best show of that year
2001.... man, that was some year in WWE. Royal Rumble was outstanding, No Way Out was excellent, Backlash gave us the ironman match, Invasion PPV was great too (say what you like about the overall story, the PPV's were generally pretty good overall) and we cap the year off with heel jericho as the first, UNDISPUTED champion. What a year! 2002 - It's a shame X8 had to miss out but can't really argue with SS 2002 - really was the passing of the torch in many ways but obviously Lesnar. 2004..... It's WMXX that won this for me. Regardless of what happened a few years later and, despite the best efforts of Goldberg/Lesnar, this was a HIGH quality PPV and the best of the year for me 2005 - Toss up between ECW and Wrestlemania 21 (them parody movie clips were fucking hilarious, especially Christian in Basic instinct). But yeah, kinda has to be ECW.
Only miss was summerslam 2013 (Punk/Brock, Cena/Bryan) not the deepest card but those were two MOTY candidates in 1 night. It probably deserves and honorable mention. Great work otherwise fellas! 💪🏾
In 1995 The Survivor Series is easily the ppv of what was an absolutely shite year for wwe. 3 action packed elimination matches , 1 that was ok and the best of the 3 Bret v Diesel matches with a heel turn at the end ..... I'm sorry but 95s rumble match was absolute shite
Full Gear does seem to have some matches on the card that reach the same level of importance and build as Revolution, but I just don't know if they could collectively beat out Mox getting the gold and that Kenny and Adam vs Young Bucks match.

NXT Takeover New Orleans 2018 and NXT Takeover New York 2019 are my top PPV of those years
And potentially up there for PPVs of decade.
Because both shows are so good many consider them close to WM X7 in terms of WWE shows.

I've watched Omega vs Okada at Dominion (2017-18) and I'm still trying to understand why WWE said Orton vs Edge was the greatest wrestling match ever (it was good but it's got nothing on Omega vs Okada)

It litteraly brought me back as a wrestling fan after not watching any pro wrestling for about 3 years... And still to this day, ibushi vs Nakamura is in my top 3 match ever.
2018 is All In, there is no debate it's a goddamn fact. Pro Wrestling's ultimate show. Every wrestler worth mentioning not signed to WWE on on one card. Never before, and probably never again will we ever have a show like that

2000 - Backlash (still one of the most underrated shows of all time, just go watch it)

Wow Revolution! And I was there! Home town Chicago! Now I am incredibly biased but I have not watched wrestling since 2005 and this was my first live show since then. It was so exciting and got me back into wrestling. So to me for a lot of sentimental reasons I agree 😁 I hope Full Gear will knock it out of the park!

WM 20 was way better than No way out... I know the Benoit incident is terrible but taking credit from the Angle vs Guerrero match and Cena winning his first belt, it was the best show of that year

2001.... man, that was some year in WWE. Royal Rumble was outstanding, No Way Out was excellent, Backlash gave us the ironman match, Invasion PPV was great too (say what you like about the overall story, the PPV's were generally pretty good overall) and we cap the year off with heel jericho as the first, UNDISPUTED champion. What a year!
2002 - It's a shame X8 had to miss out but can't really argue with SS 2002 - really was the passing of the torch in many ways but obviously Lesnar.
2004..... It's WMXX that won this for me. Regardless of what happened a few years later and, despite the best efforts of Goldberg/Lesnar, this was a HIGH quality PPV and the best of the year for me
2005 - Toss up between ECW and Wrestlemania 21 (them parody movie clips were fucking hilarious, especially Christian in Basic instinct). But yeah, kinda has to be ECW.
I loved Revolution 2020..but Wrestlekingdom 2020 was better..NJPW is the gold standard..great video!
Only miss was summerslam 2013 (Punk/Brock, Cena/Bryan) not the deepest card but those were two MOTY candidates in 1 night. It probably deserves and honorable mention. Great work otherwise fellas! 💪🏾

Revolution is, in my opinion, the best AEW PPV to date. It's got good competition though.

In 1995 The Survivor Series is easily the ppv of what was an absolutely shite year for wwe. 3 action packed elimination matches , 1 that was ok and the best of the 3 Bret v Diesel matches with a heel turn at the end ..... I'm sorry but 95s rumble match was absolute shite

Full Gear does seem to have some matches on the card that reach the same level of importance and build as Revolution, but I just don't know if they could collectively beat out Mox getting the gold and that Kenny and Adam vs Young Bucks match.
