Yep, someone is paying, just not Tommy. I hope he thanks the taxpayers in the US and the state of Colorado for hooking him up. That being said, I don’t blame him for taking advantage of the offer though……. And 4 hours in a dealership doing paperwork is f’ing ridiculous!

No, they’re not if they are only shipping a few hundred to dealers. Once they hit whatever their minimum compliance numbers are, they will stop shipping them.
@Tractshun demand will dictate otherwise. If it's still a profitable sale, I would bet they up production. Will will cause all kinds of crazy issues on the used market, but that's a later problem.
@@roguedogx It’s not profitable though. Compliance cars are not profitable. They only build them to satisfy mandates. They have no reason to build more than the minimum required by the mandates to offset their gas guzzling trucks.

Four hours because the kid has no car credit and had to get a co-signer. lol. You people act like he should, with no credit, be able to walk in and walk out with a new car and nothing but his word. And 30 mins before they close is a huge as$hole thing to do. We have families too
@@easis4u It wouldn't have to be that way if the dealers didn't string you along for half the day before even seeing the F&I guy. It's an industry problem that makes the Tesla experience so pleasurable.
It doesn't take rocket science to figure out this deal. The Fed EV rebate and the State EV rebate combined = $15000 which covers the 27 monthly lease payments. Not sure why it would take a dealer 4 hours to get this deal done, but if your credit is strong enough, you could probably do the deal over the phone/internet. Wait for the dealer to get all of the needed approvals and then come in to sign the papers and pay the sales tax and be in and out in 30 minutes. Now $15000 divided by 27 payments would normally come out to $555.56/month so that's a hell of a savings. The car itself sells for $34095...that's why they need the buyer to have a credit score over 700. It's not like the car has no value. They want to make sure the buyer is responsible so they get the car back in one piece at the end of the lease term.
It's not the way the dealership works. The finance manager is not going to miss the opportunity to go through his sales pitch for every profit opportunity and explain to you how stupid you are to pass up that "deal" at only $25 more per month.
@@foxtrotwolf6081 This depends on how intelligent the customer is. I tell the sales consultant while on the phone that I do not want ANY additional add-ons and I list the products and services that I know they are going to try to offer. I then repeat, "do you understand". They now know they are dealing with a seasoned buyer and they won't waste my time or theirs. My record is 20 minutes in and out with the car keys. The dealership was one of the largest dealers for the autos that they sell and I was a repeat buyer so they knew the procedure very well. When I showed up, they had all of the papers that I needed to sign layed out on the desk in an organized fashion. Signing took 15 minutes.
Everyone is blaming EV credits and talking about taxes, but my takeaway is that this shows how corrupt and nonsensical dealer networks and dealer protections truly are. If the dealer didn't have the incentive to get more allocations, they would never make this deal. If Stellantis wanted to move these cars without dealers, they would have to create similar incentives nationwide without abusing EV tax credits
@nunyabidness3075 because dealers are legally mandated middle men. Auto makers shouldn't have to bribe dealers to sell the cars they make. Naturally dealers just want to sell the most profitable cars, which drives prices up. So these kinds of games are required to keep cheap cars rolling off dealer lots
Tax payers funding this worthless mess is infuriating. If Colorado taxpayers want to fund it for their residents, fine, but don't use my Federal taxes to fund it. A lot of this mess is going to change in 2025.
They will never sell 800000 Charger Daytona’s they are more expense than a Model Y performance or a Lucid Gravity so why would you buy a 70000 base charger.
The factory in Italy where the 500es are made ist closed until February due to low demand. This might be another reason. As it seems in the US there are lots of them on the lots as well.
pretty sure if in Italy, you could drive away with a similar deal, they couldn't keep up with demand. Or, even if they would just sell it at a reasonable price rather than the overinflated one they are asking.
@ The previous combustion 500 was very successfull here in Europe although it was produced since 2007 and a little bit outdated in the last years. But it only cost about half the price they are asking for the 500e. The old 500e in the US was a converted combustion vehicle never sold in Europe (California Compliance Car)
@@USUG0It’s not a deal. The federal and state incentives for this come to $15,000, so they’re making a healthy profit considering it’s a short-term, low mileage lease.
Yeah anyone with an ounce of financial literacy knows a lease requires a credit check. It is still an asset with value. A 700 credit score is pretty minimal for a free car for a couple years.
It's really a perfect car for just about anyone (with a garage and a wall outlet) living in any urban/suburban area - I mean, how often is it that you drive more than 100 Miles a day? Not YOU you, necessarily, but... the average mileage people rack up on a car in a year is 15,000, right? 15,000/365 (every day) = *41.09 miles/day* 15,000/260 (every weekday) = *57.69 miles/day*
That would be a fantastic deal for anyone needing basic transportation in areas where public transportation is functionally nonexistent. The battery will likely still be close to its full capacity.
They will figure out a way of preventing consumers from getting these cars directly. My guess is they will be sold at auction and trucked to other markets when they come off lease. Look what happened with Fisker, the supporters didn't get any of the left over cars they went to a cab company in NY.
Oh poor Kase, just got his new exciting, unique, daily driver, and just a week later the enitre TFL office and Colorado has copied him. 😄 But don't worry Kase, we'll remember who was first!!
So realistically the lease is $15k, $7.5k from federal rebates, $7.5k from Colorado state credits, and that's what covers the whole transaction, you just pay taxes on it.
Which is also a scam because you actually didn't pay anything for the vehicle yet you are paying taxes on the full price of a vehicle you paid $0.00 for....
@@wildbill23c That is incorrect because they're not paying taxes on the full vehicle price - the sales manager specifically states they're only paying a "tax on the rebates."
Just picked one up. Ben the salesman was great! He was so nice made getting it easy. My wife loves it. Will be her commuter car. Surprised how nice it drives! Fun. Luckily short 4 mile commute for her. Already tried EVgo charger at Whole Foods in Castle Rock and confirmed charging sucks!! None of the chargers worked - entire system was "off line". Will charge at home but proves Tesla is the best for charging. Would never buy an EV but for a lease like this worth the try.
Congratulations! It is a sweet deal. And yeah, these cars are more fun than people realize. The DC fast charging experience is unfortunate, but there are stations that do work. Just charge at home overnight. Public Level 2 always works and although slower, it's enough to get you around in a pinch.
I actually think this is a great idea for Stellantis to try to get people into small cars. The problem with only selling large expensive vehicles is that manufacturers are thinning out their future customer base because young people can’t afford new wheels. If only stellantis used their head and sold the Jeep Avenger and the Opel Frontera (rebadged as a Ram or dodge maybe) in the states. I can’t imagine getting type approval would be that expensive and they’d provide good small eco-friendly transport for small families.
Tommy, yes it's a $34K car but when leasing you're only paying around 50% of the car. At the end of your lease you could either return it or buy it out which should have a value of at least $10-$15K. This is probably not the residue value but more like the resell value due to it being an EV at this time.
that is what i want to know is what is the buy it now price at the lease end? i know it will vary how many miles you put on it but can someone with a 700 credit score that lives in Colorado that don't even like ev's go in bring it home for $1300 and just leave it park for the lease term and buy it out right and sell it for a profit in 2 years or whenever the lease ends? or are they placing astronomical fees on them then just to get people to turn them in? questions are just starting for me. how long do i need to live in Colorado to get this deal? question, questions and more questions.
This is why I always buy leased vehicles. You get the best of both worlds. Low miles,CPO, maintenance records, one owner cars and a hell of a discount 😅
@@Rick-vg2pzoof, solid rip - the range on these is terrible, but it's an amazing car for short trips. Basically an enclosed golf cart with some added niceties 😄
I always shopped for new cars on the last Sunday of the month in the winter. Dealers that were open frequently were willing to take less (or no) profit to get a couple extra sales to meet quotas.
Or they could lower the prices and not price gouge consumers all the time and they wouldn't have that issue at the end of the month....at least for a while until everybody in town had a new car, then they would be back to trying to make sales by the end of the month....this is what happens when dealers are often forced by the manufacturer to keep a certain number of vehicles on their lots at all times, even if they're not selling. There's millions of dollars sitting on a dealer lot, whether it be used or new, and if its new they're paying a monthly payment on all those new vehicles.
Used car dealers are usually very chill. I have not had a bad experience buying a car from a used car dealer. I only had bad experiences from used car dealers I didn't buy a car from.
It was only a matter of time that this lease deal would come around in Colorado. Most plug-in electric vehicles get a $5,000 credit in Colorado. But if the MSRP is low enough (under $35,000 excluding destination/delivery), then an additional $2,500 credit is available to the purchaser. That’s why Larry H. Miller is ordering so many 500Es of the same spec: they all have the same MSRP of $34,095. Any options or any higher a trim, and the deal loses $2,500 of Colorado state tax credit. Good for Larry H. Miller for being so on top of this strategy!
Just picked one up in Colorado Springs for the same deal at Perkin’s Motors. Total cost was $1534 including state/county/city tax, registration, 1 yr glass replacement, dent/ding/spillage coverage, and prepaid $349 end of lease disposal fee. Also getting level 2 charger as part of Fiat incentive. Didn’t even ask for a check before leaving. I got my Model 3 in 2018 and was there maybe 15 minutes. They were busier than a one armed paper hanger and just needed people to clear the lot for more arriving trucks.
I guess my main point is that a lot of dealerships can do the paperwork online and you can walk out in 30 minutes or less. I did that when I purchased an F-150. On the day we purchased it (Model Y) we actually planned on a Model 3 through Carvana, then the deal fell through (the car didn't arrive on delivery date, then pushed back a week). We went to Tesla, then did all the paperwork while we were there. It took a long time from start to finish. It may have been that particular store, not sure. We were not the only ones waiting either. Not to trash Tesla though, I still love the car.
Plus, electric estimated costs for the vehicle are 35% of fuel costs on a vehicle that gets 28 mpg, so those savings essentially pay for the $1,400 in taxes we have to pay. So, it literally is free to lease, not including insurance and maintenance of course.
I was at the dealership this same day, because of your previous video where you mentioned Chase has a Fiat on a cheap lease. I saw this deal and more importantly for us a $59 deal for an AWD Dodge Hornet Plug-in. First, the Hornet deal is not the same, and they didn't actually have anything at $59. Second, they said they had 30 of them, yet didn't show us a single one, and only offered the gas version for the test drive. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced at a car dealership. Our salesman had basically never even seen a Hornet and didn't know anything about them. We waited for hours. Eventually we went to Autonation and leased one for $99.
*How much is the FINAL COST* after you pay ALL taxes and other fees? Most people forget about insurance costs, the prices are outrageous today! The cost of the insurance will be far more than the price of the lease.
cant in NJ Lease deal: The 2024 Fiat 500e INSPI(RED) with package 21A is available for $179 per month for 42 months with $2,979 due at signing. The MSRP is $34,095.
Colorado offers a $7500 lease rebate to match the federal. NJ offers only $2k at lease start, but… you don’t pay a sales tax and depending on your tax situation you could get a further tax incentive of $2k. So up to $4k and no sales taxes. You also get $250 toward a level 2 charger.
It's pretty simple. Dealer is keeping the $12,500 rebate. While it's a good deal ,it's just moving numbers around. The numbers won't pencil to buy out after two years ,so the $395 is just added to dealer profit. Take the $7,500 fed credit ,add the Colorado $5,000 credit ,they are just buying down the cap cost. The residual is close to $18K . Adding 150 mile range doesn't help. If a 150 mile range tiny electric car is exactly what you want ,this is a good deal. The reason these deals are available has to do with how dead sales are for this class of vehicle. Think Nissan Leaf
But doesn’t dealer have to sell these after the lease? So, say 100 of these return back after lease termination, who in their right mind would pay the rest with cash to buy these?
@@MJ-fj9yv The manufacturer owns them. Usually the dealer has an option to buy them, bot not required to. The lease is made with the finance company ,the dealer is just the sales
@@MJ-fj9yv and to answer your question ,most of them go to auction. Other than the COVID car window where values were crazy ,about 80% of lease returns went to auction
You need a credit check because the lease is actually a car loan. Let's say the residual value of that car is 20K. They're taking the Federal credits up front and making you a 20K no payment car loan. At the end of the lease you turn in the car, and they get back the 20K they loaned you.
EV lease deals are insane right now... especially in states with tax incentives beyond the federal incentives. I'm in a state without any state tax incentives and still picked up a lease on a $57k MSRP Honda Prologue Touring AWD (24 months/12 miles,$0 down, $0 due at signing) for $340/month. Range is more than twice this 500e and it is so much better equipped. It's a full size SUV too.
If a purchaser does not pay at least $7,500 in Federal taxes throughout the year with their earned income, they will have to pay that credit back to the Government. Just as with any tax credit. The purchaser pays taxes and they then get some of it back in the form of a tax credit. I earned the money, I paid the taxes. Why shouldn't I get some of it back? A couple earning $299,000 in income might pay $60,000 in Federal taxes throughout the year. And then also owe high State and local property taxes. People who earn a lot of money, pay a lot more in taxes than the average person. Why shouldn't they get some of their hard earned money back? People who make low incomes pay low to little amounts in taxes. Why don't they work harder to make more money so that they could pay more in taxes to support the Government? Is it better that the Government gets to decide what to do with that $7,500 in taxes that I paid from my hard earned money? Should U get to decide what is done with the taxes that I paid from my hard earned income? If I didn't earn an income, or paid little to no taxes, the Government would get nothing.
Exactly. Paying tax money to subsidize about 89cents/$100 tax to oil companies is so much more effective than the tax rebate this state is offering which is getting them a small amount of sales tax. My taxes subsidizes gas in my car by 0c/ga... because gas prices are based on international gas market. At least these subsidies are end up on American hand. Welcome to the world of how you have been lied to.
A couple folks have commented about the residual value of the car. To expand on theirs, and frame it into a time value of money calculation, the term is 27 months - the rate is unknown but probably less than prime financing rates through stellantis- the present value is around $19k - the payment near $0(maybe the dealer is making the “deal” here - this makes the future value near $20k. All this means is the dealer is expecting to be able to sell the returned lease vehicles for more than $20k in 27 months and taking advantage of short term incentives from the MFG and tax credits.
I can't criticize the deal and impressed with the 20,000 mile allowance. As good as the deal is, this car at 142 mile range is basically a city car to commute and charge overnight. This is not a road trip car. Perfect for the Italian and European market where this car is ideal for their lifestyle. Does not translate well to the US market but it is a great deal.
It translates very well in the US market. Most people don't drive 142 miles daily. We have a Nissan Leaf (80 mile range) and it takes us everywhere we need to go. 60 miles round trip to work, 5 miles round trip to the store, then on the charger overnight.
The average US household drives less than 50 miles per day. Everyone has this romanticized fantasy of long road trips on a daily basis. The reality is that most people only drive back and forth to work with a few trips to the grocery store mixed in. The people that actually do drive long distances own vehicles appropriate for that task.
@@chiplangowski3298 Here is reality. A lot of people can only afford one vehicle and yes they do take vacations, and trips to Grandma and visiting at Xmas and Thanksgiving and summer vacations. You may not go anywhere but millions and millions of Americans do. Look at a BucEees, packed 24 hours a day.
After visiting several places for these specific incentives it's completely worth getting these cars on lease even if you intend to buy. The financer qualifies for 100% of all the tax credits (which not every customer does) and so you're getting up to $17,000 off the price of the car, so at the end of your lease you're a able to buy the car for about $15,000. Actually there's no early payoff penalties so you could walk in the next day and buy the Fiat for almost half the MSRP.
Maybe tax payers shouldn't have to pay for the massive subsidies that fossil fuel companies get, the damage it does to the health of the public at large and to clean up the mess that they create...
I'm moving to Colorado this summer. If I lived there right now I would instantly go to the dealer to take advantage of this deal! That's insane! Basically a free car for 27 months and then you just give it back after lol.
The credit check is to see if you’re a responsible adult. Since you’re not actually buying the car. You’re borrowing it for a fee and taxpayer subsidies
I bought the used car I currently own four years ago. I spent less than 30 minutes buying it, including the test drive. Most of the paperwork was done online. I wasn't even back in the USA when I started buying it. I had to use a mail service and a VPN to make it look like I was back here. All car buying should take less than one hour. Car dealers suck.
$180 a MONTH for insurance? For real? That's fecking obscene! We complain about high insurance in the UK, I pay £450 per YEAR (around $570) - and I drive a 3 litre Jaguar! Granted I'm a little older, 60+, which makes a big difference. But over $2000 a year for a tiny car like that is crazy.
The USA is a fraud and scam for everything today. I have a 1994 Honda Accord and I have a spotless driving record and I pay $35/mo for minimum liability only auto insurance.
Worse part is you pay all that money every month, and when you try to make a claim you have to fight and argue with the damn insurance company. I dropped full coverage off my vehicles because they are older and the insurance company wouldn't do anything other than total them if they were in an accident. So I keep the liability and towing and that's it.
thats actually really cheap ... My NJ area insurance just doubled in last 6months, $286usd per month 1 car avg full coverage... really starting to debate relocation lol
In Connecticut I pay $900 a year for a new Wrangler Rubicon 4xe. Best insurance company and full full coverage. Lease ended so I dont have it anymore but insurance depending on age, and driving record is what makes the insurance rates low to high.
Heck, it took 8+ hours to lease a Hyundai Tucson Hybrid in SLC six months ago. 0 down/0-month tax only would be a great deal for my kid needs a new car.
Basically that dealership had a brilliant idea to move the first batch of those cars; because it’s a new electric car, the first 50k sold in the US (or something like that) come with a big cash back incentive from the government, to the tune of $7500 back, which equals about $310/mo over 24 months. Now most dealers would try to make extra money on top of that 7500 in the form of monthly payments, but this dealer ingeniously decided to try and secure some future customers instead.
However long it takes it’s a draining, stressful process, though I’m sure some people handle it better than others. Either way: congratulations on the new vehicle, and I look forward to updates on the ownership experience!
I'm not an expert in the US tax system but isn't it 1200 + the fee for returning the car in Tommy's case? Colorado state (aka tax payers) gives the dealer the rebate.
In 2015-2016, VW was leasing the e-Golf for anywhere from $0-$500 down, and $30-$75/mo. I almost bit. But taxes and fees worked out to a few thousand, and I figured out the cost of insurance would roughly triple the monthly cost.
I really want to know how furious is kase right now because as you all saw and heard he was super quiet during this. The father In law was furious. As he should be. Tommy was not happy by the look on his face. 7:21 Well done kase for this moment. ❤ Also did kase not get the same deal.
Funny thing is that according to tests the "real world" range is ~120 miles. So in States or some Canadian provinces where -30 weather happens quite often, your real-world range in low temperatures would be about 60 miles. That barely covers my everyday errands. No wonder they wouldn't be able to sell those for $35k. But I'd still gladly take it for $0 and just use it whenever I can. I would have to take breaks anyway because I drive a lot more than 10k miles a year. So it would be a perfect spring/summer city car and parked for winters.
Go ASBURY AUTOMOTIVE! Great group of folks. Hundreds of dealerships all over the country, but centralized in about a dozen states, unfortunately. I’ve been with them for seven years. So far.
“Too good to be true” just means someone else is paying for it for you because no one actually wants what you are buying. The mark ups on the other vehicles at that dealership should be interesting to see

im pretty sure its one of those rare cases... I've been to different dealerships in the past few years, the quickest one I did was 30 mins top because everything was already negotiated via text/email.. u just go to dealer to sign and drive off. Other times, its at least hours if you are unsure and trying to negotiate on the spot. Best case of advice... negotiate via phone/text/.email before heading to dealers. Know what u want already and tell them straight on, no BS, no time to waste. Makes life easier.
That’s an interesting and decent opportunity for people. Though the people of Colorado are paying for it as a whole, state income tax dollars are what’s paying for it. The dealer isn’t giving it away, they are getting paid from the federal government and state of Colorado.
If it's like the regular 500, it should do very well as long as you have the right tires and press the ESC button to allow the wheels to have more free spin over loose snow.

I wish Texas had deals like that. I just need a little town run about for work. They have 14 500e's on the lot. They are marked down to 24.5k and if they charged a little faster I wouldn't mind that. Leases are 3409 down and 485 a month in centex from the dealer. The national website has 179 a month for 5k miles a year.
It's very much so possible. I leased a 2024 Genesis GV70 Electrified for a total of $20 down. We have no payment and we can put 12k miles on it in 13 months and we turn it back in. This Genesis MSRP was slightly over $75k and it's basically free.
But only 20,000 miles for the whole 27 months . Comes out to 740/month . 24miles/day. If you go over 20k miles at the end of your lease you pay extra. So???? That’s the catch too.
And with his insurance being $180/mo, assuming he doesn’t exceed 24 miles/day, that comes out to $0.25/mile for insurance alone. That’s crazy. I think it’s a cool video but tbh I wouldn’t drive one of these cars if it really was completely free.
@@SeaGrassHunter You have no concept of what needs and wants are of course. If you are like most people today, you want a Ford F-150 for $80,000, you NEED a FIAT 500E which will cost you about $5000 to drive for two years.
Side note, towards the end of the video, you drove right by my old apartment and Hampden and Dayton. How funny! If I was in the market for another car, I would consider getting this but I just don’t need it lol.
The finance company is fronting the money for several months until the rebate checks go through. While it is a virtual guarantee that the government will pay, you legally owe $15k in the event that they don't. That's why you need a credit check.
Ah, no; you need a credit check because if you do not return the vehicle at the end of the lease, you are responsible for paying for the remaining value of the vehicle. That’s how all leases work, and why they all require credit checks even if you pay the entire lease up front in cash. In Colorado, the dealer is responsible for the incentive of the tax rebate fails, NOT the buyer.
We’ve had a little 2017 500e for a few years now. It’s extremely basic, but it’s great for around town. (It’s the teenager car). No gas, no maintenance, super cheap to run!

I had a 2013 500e and I liked it. I would lease a new one except I’m a resident of Washington and they don’t have any good state incentives here. They did for people with really low income that normally don’t buy new cars, and I think the money ran out fairly quickly. When I got mine the sales lady did fit in the back seat, but I just kept the back seat down most of the time. You can fit a lot back there for such a small car
Most Nissan dealers in CO are doing $5-$19 a month lease on a Leaf S right now. $50-$70 on the Leaf SV. I was contemplating a Leaf but now I'm leaning towards a Fiat!
When you can sell ancient Chargers, Challengers, and Durangos for $100,000 you can give away cheap cars and still make record profits. Stellantis fans are absolutely insane. This is a great deal though.
All these old dudes crying about a Fiat. Its an EV. No engine for "Tony to fix again" LOL. I live in KC and my next door neighbor has one of these; he said he bought it used at 2 years old for like $10K or something and for him the small range is no issue. He said in the Missouri winters at 10 degrees it only goes like 70 miles on a charge, but again he just keeps it plugged in at home and its no biggie. I always said I'd only get an EV when they are free, and it looks like we are finally getting there...
I don't understand why people are confused by how the dealer can make money. They are getting 15k cash from the government as the owner of the vehicle, and having you drive it around for 2 years and pay the tax and all maintenance costs, while they keep their lot free for other inventory. Then once you bring it back to them, they will sell it used for $15-20k and make a little profit, or at the very least broke even in order to pump up their sales numbers with Stellantis and get all the rebates and benefits that come along with it.

The government creates the environment for abuse. The government is always the enemy
I really don’t get why this shows dealers are corrupted.
No, it's the EV credit BS.

Tommy, yes it's a $34K car but when leasing you're only paying around 50% of the car. At the end of your lease you could either return it or buy it out which should have a value of at least $10-$15K. This is probably not the residue value but more like the resell value due to it being an EV at this time.

Gotta do this stuff online man. Saves you tons of time
@@jmilesfox Yeah, most of the paperwork was done on the Tesla app. I only had to show up at the store to inspect and pickup the vehicle. Super easy.
So, it literally is free to lease, not including insurance and maintenance of course.
there's not much maintenance needed for just 20,000 miles either, basically some tire rotations
Makes sense as a second car for running errands even commuting depending on distance.

@@afcgeo882 is this just for electric vehicles?
@ Yes.

You need a credit check because the lease is actually a car loan. Let's say the residual value of that car is 20K. They're taking the Federal credits up front and making you a 20K no payment car loan. At the end of the lease you turn in the car, and they get back the 20K they loaned you.
I see, it completely makes sense now!
EV lease deals are insane right now... especially in states with tax incentives beyond the federal incentives.
Exactly! It’s a rip off to buy other people crappy wheels
It would work in older US Cities like Philly.
Maybe taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay for other people’s new electric cars.
Yeah let’s subsidize corporations instead….
Maybe tax payers shouldn't have to pay for the massive subsidies that fossil fuel companies get, the damage it does to the health of the public at large and to clean up the mess that they create...
@@Redhawk24 Or we could subsidize neither…
@@Redhawk24what kind of mindless lib either or world do u live in?
Maybe you can get one?
I'm moving to Colorado this summer. If I lived there right now I would instantly go to the dealer to take advantage of this deal! That's insane! Basically a free car for 27 months and then you just give it back after lol.
5,000 mile per year allowance is part of the lease deal too.
740 per month
He said 20k miles for 27 months.
Congratulations on your new leased car! Looking forward to hearing more about how you like it during the next 27 months.
The credit check is to see if you’re a responsible adult. Since you’re not actually buying the car. You’re borrowing it for a fee and taxpayer subsidies
And I thought I got a good deal when I leased a Fiat 500e for $60 a month a few years back here in California.
I remember that! They were giving them bad boys away 😂 I got some cheap ones even here in Texas thanks to that deal
@@ggolds5 Not true. Some thing else is going on in that industry. Same racket as the health insurance industry.
Heck, it took 8+ hours to lease a Hyundai Tucson Hybrid in SLC six months ago.
0 down/0-month tax only would be a great deal for my kid needs a new car.
Imagin in 27 months all these cars that never hold value with hit the used car market for cheap cheap......
Does the fed and state credits more than cover depreciation?
@@hughes3947Fiat obviously expects them to.
@@hughes3947Yeah… $15k is nothing to sneeze at for 2 years. My Rav4 hybrid lease was 3/12k and it was $11k.
Probably cheaper for the manufacturer to practically give these cars away then pay sanctions for not selling enough EVs/emissions tax.
Not giving anything away. The lease price is $15k.
I'm not an expert in the US tax system but isn't it 1200 + the fee for returning the car in Tommy's case?
Colorado state (aka tax payers) gives the dealer the rebate.
@ The $1200 was the tax he paid on the $15,000 lease cost.
Why?
Funny thing is that according to tests the "real world" range is ~120 miles. So in States or some Canadian provinces where -30 weather happens quite often, your real-world range in low temperatures would be about 60 miles. That barely covers my everyday errands. No wonder they wouldn't be able to sell those for $35k. But I'd still gladly take it for $0 and just use it whenever I can. I would have to take breaks anyway because I drive a lot more than 10k miles a year. So it would be a perfect spring/summer city car and parked for winters.
Taxpayers taking it in the rear on this one
Lol you should see where your tax money goes. This is absolutely peanuts in comparison to the bonuses the officials give themselves
@ peanuts is relativism. There could be no peanuts
The mark ups on the other vehicles at that dealership should be interesting to see
Fossil fuels like oil and natural gas , two things we need far less dependence on also receive massive subsidies. We all agree that we like breathing clean air, so we need to make strides towards that. What is a better what to do that if Evs aren’t what you think should happen. I’m genuinely interested in dialogue with you about better ideas and solutions to this issue. Looking forward to your thoughts 🙏🏾
I would like us to attempt to use facts and figures not just passion to have these discussions so we might actually come to some agreement on a better way forward. We all have to live here 😊
What are those massive subsidies EXACTLY and SPECIFICALLY for oil and diesel? Please, tell us.
Its really just a way for the dealer to move up in their corporate rankings. Dealers who sell more volume get better allocations.
Four hours at a dealership is just ridiculous just to get a car.
For free tho?
Go at night. They want to go home too.
im pretty sure its one of those rare cases... Makes life easier.
in pa was at the fiat dealer ship i saw one inside on display in rose gold so pretty just wish they had this deal here.
keep up the good content
What changed between case's car and your car money-wise?
I think he is paying $45/month and has to put down about $1,000. Approximately $100/month for the 2-year lease plus insurance
Closer to end of year, more eager to sell
That’s an interesting and decent opportunity for people. Though the people of Colorado are paying for it as a whole, state income tax dollars are what’s paying for it. The dealer isn’t giving it away, they are getting paid from the federal government and state of Colorado.
I want to see how the car handles the snow.
If it's like the regular 500, it should do very well as long as you have the right tires and press the ESC button to allow the wheels to have more free spin over loose snow.
Me: How about $42,500 for this new car Dealer: No, sorry $43,000 or nothing. Meanwhile in Colorado.. HEY here is a free car thats $34k
How fast before Kyle at out of spec copy cats this

Kyle is a goof ball. He did something about the Leaf when they had a similar deal a year or so ago.
@@horseathalt7308 He's an obnoxious goof ball lol
I wish Texas had deals like that. I just need a little town run about for work. They have 14 500e's on the lot. They are marked down to 24.5k and if they charged a little faster I wouldn't mind that. Leases are 3409 down and 485 a month in centex from the dealer. The national website has 179 a month for 5k miles a year.
Federal & State subsidies for a multi-million or billion-dollar car manufacturer. Great deal Tommy.
It wasn't that long ago that Stellantis was filling out the checks to subsidize Tesla for fuel credits.
So that makes it ok.
Most people who drive around town won't exceed that. Sure, it's low, but not unreasonable.
And with his insurance being $180/mo, assuming he doesn’t exceed 24 miles/day, that comes out to $0.25/mile for insurance alone. That’s crazy. I think it’s a cool video but tbh I wouldn’t drive one of these cars if it really was completely free.
This is an AND vehicle in my world
@@SeaGrassHunter You have no concept of what needs and wants are of course.
If you are like most people today, you want a Ford F-150 for $80,000, you NEED a FIAT
500E which will cost you about $5000 to drive for two years.
I guess if you never went anywhere for 2-1/2 years you'd be ok LOL.
Imagine all those taxex colected from other people to pay for the free second or third car for other people. To save the planet! The Age of Insanity has arrived.

No kidding.. as if the son of a multimillionaire youtube influencer needed a 5th or 6th car? Bruh... you literally have half a dozen piles of 💩 already... maybe sell some of them off and just buy something with your own resources vs bragging about how everyone's tax dollars are paying for your stupid Fiat that nobody wants

Some of these ppl in the comments really need to learn how taxes and subsidiaries work. Absolute comedy in here 😂
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Probably the same people who think tariffs are paid by the company and not end consumer.
I like electric cars, but when it gets to the point where dealers are giving them away 🤔
well litterally no one in america wants a Fiat....in any form so.....

I've never been able to buy a car in less than 3 hours.
In California, the same car leases for $2999 down $299 a month and it's a ridiculous low amount of miles that you're able to put on the vehicle.

Never thought I would hear the phrase Stellantis fans.
The sales guy @4:00 said you had to pay the taxes monthly on your rebates. Did that turn out to be true?
I never knew that someone getting a free car could get ripped off... Until now
I wish we had something like this in my state of GA. The lease deal was close to $300 a month which was ridiculous.
