American authorities subsidized Tesla, Boeing, Apple, Semeconductors. German governments also subsidized BMW Simens Borsch Mercedes etc, France subsidized Airbus. so tell me which governments didn't subsidize their own industries?

Ten years ago, the air in China city was terrible and now it is very good. So the goal is to reduce the air pollution.

As the largest oil importer, China is determined to develop electric vehicles. Even if the West stops promoting electric cars, China will continue.
From this perspective, the development of electric vehicles in China is to change its energy structure.
In addition, many countries in the world are short of oil, and there is also a demand for electric vehicles. I just saw a news that the share of electric vehicles in new cars sold in Nepal has reached 60%.

This video makes the mistake of depicting China’s EVs as a top down decision
China’s people hate pollution and any political leader not proposing solutions is in trouble
China’s people wanted EV technology. China’s companies responded. China’s government helped

Most importantly, China depends on petroleum from other countries, by replacing petro with electricity for vehicles there's less dependence on other countries. EV vehicles are much easier and cheaper to manufacture than petro vehicles, this is why China is doing well in the global EV market.

Everyone is missing the point. Electric cars are way less complicated than gas cars. The only reason they are so expensive in the West is due mainly to coercion by the oil companies, and greed. EVs are much simpler to build.
