Thanks a lot for the video. It was so simple and so great. I am new starting coach with very big enthusiasm. I will get certification in one month. My most favorite part of the session is Step 1. to understand client's goal.
My key takeaway is you can coach with only 4 steps and make a difference. I overthink my strategies sometimes that keep ideas just that an idea and never use it because I tell myself there needs to be more to coaching someone than just this when there might not be. Thanks for the info.
I am very grateful to have found the 4 step process and have begun utilizing this with clients.Do you have a video teaching me about the Structure to use during each session? Thanks very much!
We're so happy this video was valuable for you, Andrew! And yes, we do! There are 2 videos we recommend for you. The first one goes deep into the structure of your first coaching session to set the groundwork with a new client: th-cam.com/video/AnRAwY4GD-4/w-d-xo.html. And the second one is about the structure of a session-by-session coaching plan: th-cam.com/video/cMoUmVdmEvg/w-d-xo.html. Let us know if this helps! Thanks for sharing ❤
I appreciated the step by step process. The key takeaway for me was step 4 and working through reflecting and learning from the process the person went through with the coach. Question: if a coach had weekly meetings with a client how many meetings would you take to go through the 4 step process?
Hi Brad! It really depends on the progress of the client. It could take 1 session or 3 months of sessions. Because the goal might change at any time, the plan execution might have new challenges along the way, and it's very common to go back to other steps and start the process again, after adjusting to the new reality of the client, and other factors like those that could make the process longer or shorter. Also, keep in mind that sometimes our clients' goals might be long-term and due after the coaching sessions are done, so this process doesn't necessarily have to finish with the goal being met, but giving the client all the tools they will need to keep moving forward. We hope this brought some clarity and ideas! :)
Another great show! Thanks once again for everything you do for our community. Just bagged a copy of The Business Book of Coaching. If it's as good as The Book of Coaching it's going to be well worth it - and some awesome bonuses too! Bargain! 🤙
Thanks for the video. Two questions for the coaches: 1) What guarantees that you, as a coach, know that your coachee's actions go in the right direction when you have any expertise/experience in the field of activity of the coachee's goals ? - 2) As a coachee, in case I don't reach my goals with the 1st coaching cycle, why would I want to restart a new cycle with the same coach?
Those are great questions, Thomas! We share our thoughts on them: 1) The coaching journey is about the client, not the coach. As a coach, we can guide them but it will be a client’s decision what road they want to take and what they want to accomplish. We are just supporting their journey for them to achieve transformation. Therefore, you cannot really guarantee anything in any way, it’s the client who will do the work. And also be mindful of the fine line between coaching and consulting. 2) If the client can see progress and the coach has built good rapport with the client, and can show them the potential of their work together still, it’s highly likely a client will want to continue working together. It might also happen that the client achieves a goal they had, and still wants to resign because the coach helped them see an even greater goal they now want to pursue. It’s all about showing the possibilities and seeing if the client still wants to do the work in order to get these. We hope this helps!

Great video man. Just a quick question. How many times should you follow-up with clients? Like what would be the sweet spot for this? I am thinking of 2 times a week. I might consider increasing the frequency based on your response.
Great question, Fiyaz! It really depends on your coaching style and your client's expectations. We recommend one follow-up after a coaching session with the summary of action steps. Some coaches like sharing key takeaways from the sessions and/or extra resources. If you feel the need to do extra follow-ups, you can do so but we recommend setting the expectations with clients to avoid overwhelming them. Let us know if this answers your question.
Thank you so much for all the great info! I am just wondering, should Step 1 and 2 take place in one coaching session or should it be spread out over several sessions?
Great question, Jessica! It really depends on the client and their needs. Some steps can take a shorter or longer time for each client. It is recommended for every session to have both of those steps (so there's clarity in the goal and the action plan works as "homework" they can do before the next session). But if the goal is clear, you can quickly touch upon it and go straight to step 2, or if Step 1 takes the whole session, then you can wait until there's clarity on the goals. Ultimately, we'd say: trust your gut! ;) Hope this helps!
@@mindvalleycoach Thank you for your reply! It helps a lot. Yeah I thought it would be best to leave with some homework. And if they are unclear about the goals, I guess the homework can just be thinking time. Thanks again!

what if my client talks very less. we have established one goal that we are working towards. However in the follow up session it seems I am not adding much value. He is doing his homework and it seems what do I tell him now...
Great question, Rajesh! It'd be important to understand why you feel you are not adding value and if the client senses the same thing. Maybe the client is moving towards their desired outcome and is satisfied. You can always use powerful questions to gauge how they are doing and how you can best support them. Ask questions like, "What do you feel is holding you back from your next step?", "What can I do to support your journey?", "What else can I support you with?", "How are you feeling with this journey so far?", and so on.
