Very nice!!! A need for every flute collection!
I love it. It is haunting but it's also very enchanting. Full of wonderment in disguise.
Marvelous, Nina. Great. You have done very well.
A viratual friend from Brazil.
the new flute sounds great!! :) love putting air in the cheeks ...makes a huge difference!
A very enjoyable piece... Thanks Nina
Just fucking WOW!!! Clarity, verve, fluid, stunning speeds, incredible delivery...more more more more moe more more more!
This piece does seem to have some oriental inspirations or influences, but it also breaks free from most conformities brought in by classical music. something like this played by such a talented player deserves undivided attention! I am loving this!
beautiful....I love the pauses....they really add to the piece.....you kind of, almost think it's over...and yet it's not...very cool
You have the heart of a hazan! I love the power and intensity of your singing and incantation! FABULOUS! Thank you!
This is a beautiful piece, Nina! Just what I need today!
Holy the fast tonguing in this piece is ridiculously fast! It sounds amazing when you play it! Great work!
Wonderful music. I love it. Thank you, Nina.Greetings from Germany.
I just learned of this piece this year. I heard it done at a Penn State University recital. The flutist had a really neat interpretation. I don't have the music in front of me, but on several of the long tones she let the notes go flat.. sounds very eerie.
so pretty! Blows my solo out of the water, not to mention the atmosphere...
I WOULD buy a copy, but Im afraid im not quite at that kind of playing level yet. So ill just enjoy listening to you play it.
Nina, u are amazing as usual.
Thank u for sharing your talent.I have learnt a lot from your videos ever since my first contact with your utube works. Keep on.
I love this piece :)
amazazazazazing!!!!!

Wonderful piece and your playing is amazing!
This sounds fun to play. =)
absolutely beautiful... :)
wow that's the most beautiful thing i have ever heard on the flute, u r just so amazing i have been playing for 2 years i couldn't imagine myself as great as u wow :D
I really like the interpretation.. makes mine seem pretty flat and dull haha!
This is such a wonderful piece, and there's not many great recordings of it, so thanks for sharing this one!!
WOW ! :)
Thanks, Becky!
That was really good ;P
Lovely! I'd program it in a heartbeat! For the person asking about the "intense vibrato," the piece calls for trills, tremolos, and timbral trills.
@ninaflute HAHAHA this comment made me laugh so much!!
i was hesitating on flute, clarinet, or trumpet as my next instrument, but i think its clear which one i need now :)
thank you!
amazing playing as usual
awesome stuff ive been playing for 8 years, just spent a few months on fantaisie pastorale hongroise by doppler. now i know what to work on next haha
@cozmocon Oh my, I played this piece for one week but I had played flute for over 25 years when I learned this! I didn't learn to play flute in one week!!!!
Very Native American, Nina (à la Carlos Nakai) and you sound GREAT. You really "get" this piece (and I think you tend to do well with solo flute works.) I've been practicing (I bought a new Haynes) and I want to put some vids of my playing on TH-cam. I've been told a lot that I sound just like Marion. So, good to hear you, Nina. Best, Willa
thanks Welford.
Lovely, as always. This is a piece to which I can easily create a mental motion picture that captures the essence of its title. Thank you for giving the info for the FCNY, I stopped by the site and left a comment. Is that your playing on the home page?
presiouse master Pece
Sounds really nice, relaxing. Started with very fresh sound, feel like in the calm woods and lakeside relaxing. It also has some Chinese music taste, in my opinion. Slowly the music starts to feel dull and moody, also gradually more haunting, like the haunting night in the forests or in the lonely desert atnight, and the haunting call of the sound of the bird. just curious, is it unaccompanied? it sounds really nice on its own without accompaniment.
Thanks! I appreciate it :)
@stefferrs It's actually a trill that involves the F,E,and D keys!
Semplicemente strepitosa !!!
It is from Roussel Joueurs de Flute, a lovely piece.
omg this is one of the most beautiful flute pieces ive ever heard
some arabian inspiration in the middle I think :D
I don't know if it reminded me a lot of winter though... but I guess to each their own right?
loved it.
Wow amazing piece! Your skill is incredible.
Whats a way I can improve my dynamics? I have a lot of trouble playing softly. Everything I play had to be medium or loud, or I can't get a good sound.
Amazing :O
Very nice piece indeed.
I've heard of bass and tenor flutes, though I know they are very rare, own/ever played any? It would be very interesting to see.
wow...
Wow what kind of flute do you play on? It's got amazing sound quality
Bravo bisous
Yes, it's an alteration of a trill. Instead of trilling a normal A you trill your F E and D keys, while holding the A fingering.
DAMN. O_O
2:49 was definitely a strange instance. Winter Spirits maybe?
I do enjoy this song. I think you could program this, maybe not for a very big concert, but it's nice regardless! :)
Hey Nina, what is the name of the song at the end of the video when you tell us about the real flute project? It sounds amazing, i'd love to know the name of it!
hi um i just started playing flute this year and i got bumped upi to concert in like two weeks so im playing a paice callled notturno by james C lewallen and i was wondering if you could do a vidioe of it thanks um bye.
you probably don't remember playing this too too much, but is there anything i need to really pay attention to when i perform this? (I'm doing it this year as a graded solo)
If you haven't already, You should play Syrinx by Debussy! I'm planning on doing that for a Solo/Ensemble competition in February.
I only wish I had just that much talent/skill.
Is that just an intense vibrato at 4:07 or some other effect. Fascinating sound either way!
Hi Nina. I just want to know what is the brand name of your flute? I'm planning to buy a new flute so that I can perform in public. Your flute sounds very nice. Thanks.
Ms. Perlove, what is the name of the piece that plays at the end of the video?
How Long Have You Been Playing For?
Does she play piccolo? Or any other kind of flute? I would like to hear that.
Have I missed something? i never head of that method... And i did notice nina usign it in the video...
This piece was written in 1997.
Nina: That should be: á là Carlos Nakai. Sorry for my mistake. Willa
This one, at band camp..
I can hear both in it.. but maybe it's just me???

Saying your performance was amazing just doesn't do justice!
I really love your sound! It's a beautiful piece, but it looks like you have terrible posture. Maybe you have to lean and it doesn't really affect your sound, but it would look better if you played straight. Not trying to be mean because you are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than me, but I'm just saying. Anyways... good job (:
umm you puff your cheacks to much thats not suposed to be done and in some places you breath to loud
