In this video, Zach takes a closer look at two Marantz receivers: the brand new Cinema 60 and the older SR5015. They delve into the technical specifications, features, and overall performance of both models, providing a detailed comparison of each.
The Marantz Cinema 60 boasts impressive 11.2-channel processing, along with support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro-3D immersive audio formats. It also features the latest HDMI 2.1 connectivity, allowing for 8K video pass-through and advanced gaming features like Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM).
On the other hand, the SR5015 is a well-established model that has been around for a few years. It still offers excellent 7.2-channel processing and support for the same immersive audio formats as the Cinema 60, but with HDMI 2.0 connectivity instead.
Our experts provide an in-depth analysis of the performance of both receivers, exploring how they handle different types of content such as movies, music, and gaming. They also compare their build quality, design, and usability, noting any differences between the two models.

Here is a user from Spain. A month ago I bought the Sr8015 with two Dali Opticon 6 mk2 speakers. I could have gone for the cinema 40, but it has less power. What really made the difference and made me decide on the sr8015 was the TOROIDAL transformer, if you are looking for Hifi that makes the difference. The architecture of the new cinemas is monolithic, they will sound good I don't doubt it, but they lack the toroidal transformer. The sr8015 also has 8k (almost non-existent in bluray and compressed on youtube) and by comparison, the heaviest. It weighs more, in audio equipment the weight is an indication of quality. I am very happy for having chosen the se8015, it is a 2020 model (my equipment was manufactured in September 2022 compared with marantz). It cannot be considered old. I think that the cinemas are a marketing strategy and renewal of the models, they will sound good, but I doubt that better. That said, I advise you to find out about the Toroidals and their advantages. Greetings to everyone who has read it in its entirety.

Get a processor with a separate amp. Integrateds destroy sound. I have a 5015 and also use a processor and it's so much better

Did they ever solve the arc connectivity problems? On my unit I have to power it on all the time to restore connectivity. So many times the remote control doesn't turn on TV and receiver at the same time. installers just use optical to avoid all these problems. I have a Nad processor and it never has arc connectivity problems.
The Marantz it's just so damn complicated.

On the Cinema 60 are the two sub woofers out independent or just one output split.

it has.. he did not talk about the newer and more powerfull chipset and software. audyssey runs better which makes the difference. i mean, it is totaly normal that marantz is trying to use the common production lines and keep the production costs low. the technic did not change so they did not had to reassamble many parts. but things that makes difference... did change. you have to look inside for that. specially in ther bigger models with auro3d support and dirac live capabilitiy
