- The Candlelight Processional in Epcot, Walt Disney World, is the biblical telling of the Christmas Story. The live music and 50 piece orchestra surround you in the holiday spirit as the story is told by different celebrity narrators. In this video the narrator is Kurt Russel who has had a 40 year history with Disney, his most recent role starring in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. I sang in the choir for 18 years, under Derrick Johnson, the founder of the Liberty Voices. It was held in the Magic Kingdom, and had 1200 voices. We rehearsed in the parade float warehouse twice, then performed it, and repeated the whole thing with different choirs the next day. To see Derrick conduct basically all of town square in the singing of Silent Night still brings tears of joy to my face. I was in the St. Thomas Boys Choir for four years. I've sung in Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, St. Patrick's, and with the Vienna Boys Choir. My years in the Cast Choir rank very high in my life's experiences. All of that being said, Dr.Sinclair rushed most of the numbers...too bad. When we did them a bit slower, they had a much bigger impact.
You sound like you must be very talented & certainly have some expertise on this show. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. When we went to see it this year with Ming Na Wen, I enjoyed it. It's really all about the story. ;)

I'm so glad to hear that your parents were able to watch the video. That's why I always try to take video & share it. The candlelight processional is always fun to attend. I would video more of them if I could afford the dining package reservations so that I can get good seats. ;)
I'm going to be here on Dec 9th this year and I'm so excited. I do have a Question- do you have to wear the performance wear through the park before the performance or can you change into it at practice.

What’s the process to become involved?
Kurt has done this a number of times over the years. He was grand Marshall of this year’s (2018) Disney Christmas parade, too. I believe he’s so loyal to Disney because Walt himself was kind to him as a child actor, and was instrumental in playing a role in his incredibly successful film career.

my school is going this year (in 15 days) i’ve never been more excited!! my choir teacher spoke so greatly about it and it made me even more excited to be able to preform
I attended his performance on Dec. 11 at 8:00. It was fantastic! He really got into the choir's performance and was very attentive to them. Kurt Russell ---- he still has it!
He is very talented. I hope that they bring him back next year & put him on the schedule early enough that we can get dining reservations for the show.

What time was this performance? My daughter performed at the 6:45 & 8:15 show. Hoping to find her on here, but I am not seeing her.

Wonderful show, but I don’t know why they took the best part out- the part about Jesus having affected the life of man more than all the armies, navies, parliaments, kings etc.. What a massive disappointment.
It would certainly be nice if they would stick to the original. This show always kicks off the holiday season for our family. It's a church of sorts for us. We will miss it this year.
Have they since reinstated that all -important part of the Story??
@@bobbicraig No - One Solitary Life has been excluded for this year as well. I believe Disneyland also removed that about several years ago
