  • An absolutely beautiful song driven by the infamous acoustic fingerstyle riff. A great song to improve your fingerstyle and get the feel of picking with several fingers from the right hand... Hope you guys enjoy. Keep practicing!

The thing I'm still trying to figure out is...what EXACTLY is the technique for the pinch harmonics? I can't ever seem to get them to sound like more than a muted pluck of the strings. Thanks for any help. Great job on this!

Aah yes. It is tricky. The main idea is to lightly graze the string with the thumb directly after picking it. Altering its vibration. I'm guessing your picking technique has been correct it is just the placement of the right hand. Try doing it directly over the edges of your pickups.

@@MGM261 someone else has once described it to me as basically plucking the string at the same time as gently touching it right above the Fret that you wish to hit and then releasing it. But the timing has to be essentially perfect or else it doesn't come off right. Would you concur?

Yes but that is a for a Natural harmonic. Created with the left hand. Where as a pinch harmonic (aka artifical harmonic) is created with the right hand.

@@MGM261 okay then, maybe I'm not entirely clear on what I'm trying to do then. Since I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to call it, I'm talking about the parts right when you were coming out of the solo back into the last chorus for example. Give me a moment. I will reference of timeframe in your video

Natural harmonics are easiest at the 7th & 12th frets.

COOL BUT HOW DO YOU GET THAT AWESOME REVERB????

Thanks! I added it in post production editing. After I recorded the acoustic with my mic into my DAW (free recording software called Reaper). I used BIAS FX2 to add a compressor and reverb.
