Some people would have never wanted you to know about Kimathi...They wanted his legacy to die with him but Alas, his charismatic and astute leadership qualities had crossed over the continent where it could not be stopped. He should have met another young versatile man by the name Mboya. But young visionaries that threaten the world order are extinguished very fast to kill any uprising of different fair idiologies. People like Thomas Sankara ,Tom Mboya, Dedan Kimathi are never allowed to live on sadly.Amazing young Men this greate continent missed.

@@suleimansantur248Stop lying. It is the homeguards from Kikuyuland who had an interest in suppressing the legacy of Mau Mau. In any case, that part of the struggle was basically a fight between Kikuyu Mau Mau's and Kikuyu homeguards fighting under the leadership of colonialists. Stop dragging Odinga into Kikuyu feuds. And Mau Mau didn't liberate any part of Kenya. They were completely suppressed by Kikuyu homeguards and their colonial handlers so thoroughly, such that the State of Emergency was lifted in 1957. Mau Mau was completely ineffective by 1957. Independence came in 1963. Wacha uongo zako.

That's romantic thinking. The majority of Kikuyus were particularly uncomfortable with Mau Mau. It was a choice between a rock and a hard place for most ordinary Kikuyus. Either side with Mau Mau and face the wrath of homeguards and their colonial masters or stand against Mau Mau and face them. The majority stood against Mau Mau, and Mau Mau lost both politically and militarily.

You don't know what you are talking about. One of the main grounds for an early split between Kenyatta and Odinga was the shabby manner in which Mau Mau and other landless Kikuyus were being treated in post-colonial Kenya. Mau Mau was defeated militarily mainly through the contribution of Kikuyu homeguards. That phase of freedom struggle was converted into a Kikuyu vs Kikuyu intra-tribal war, a tribal civil war of a kind.

To make matters worse, the African colonial government went on re educating Kenyans about the history. They changed everything and the collaborators stole everything from our country. It’s not yet Uhuru…. A reason they allowed muzungu to have military bases to help secure them power. We will change history, wether they like it or not.

You might begin to appreciate what I am stating when you realize that Mau Mau remained a proscribed (banned) organization until 2003. Stop blaming the colonialists. Even if he was buried in a mass grave, mkoloni would have been the right agent kuonyesha but the question is: why are Kenyan presidents unwilling to follow the Kimathi issue?? Kenyatta fought the same mkoloni and should have been the first to bring the remains home. Then came the son. Kibaki is known to have done many good things but he, too should have spearheaded, completed and concluded the long-waited for Kimathi project. SHAME ON OUR LEADERS
