Hi! I’m Chelsea, and I have a case of the chronic wanders! That means I have an obsession with all things travel and adventure, and I’m working on incorporating as much of that into my life as possible while I also manage several chronic illnesses. I do that by living full-time in my self-converted van (sometimes down by the river). But, I don't travel entirely solo - I have the company of my number one van cat, Jack.
I've had conditions called EDS and POTS for the past twelve years, and there was a time when I was so sick that I didn’t think I’d ever travel again. But, here I am. My story has been all over the place, and it’s taken me down some roads I never thought I would travel. Kind of like my sense of direction. But, I’ve learned a lot along the way about life, travel, adventure, and living authentically with chronic illness. And I wouldn’t change a dang thing. I’ve also picked up a TON of practical tips along the way. So come along on our adventures, and maybe pick up a few ideas about how you can live your most authentic life, too, whatever that means to you.

Would like to see another video from you and hear how things are going for you in 2022. It is such an admirable goal to take what you are learning as you deal with chronic illness and share it with others so they can learn from your experience. Gives us hope and a great example of living life on your own terms and creating something of life with the hand you are dealt. Certainly not easy. Absolutely worthwhile.

I'm so looking forward to more videos, especially about chronic illness and how it intersects with van life. I have POTS and Lyme and I'm planning how I can make van life a reality for me and my cat. Right now I'm thinking about a small class c rv

Thanks Chels, this will help our family too! The ones who sadly carry the genetic link. This was a wonderful beginning to your story. Told so accurately and freely. And well said. It made me think about your mom working on getting you to Mayo Clinic. How long it took but well worth the efforts and time. Which I believe is where you were finally diagnosed. That part was a relief, but you had to figure out how to live with it.
