Thanks for this insightful and nuanced conversation. I'm a big fan of Bentley Hart but, even being an aspiring Vaishnava, was unaware of Mr. Schweig's work. Shame on me! Will look more into his books, Haribol!

Very absorbing content overall , but for me the most meaningful moments of this dialogue were from approximately 1:01:17 thru to 1:04:00 and again from 1:28:50 thru to 1:32:45 . The former was where Dr. Schweig counsels on the ultimate and overriding value of the souls disposition towards love in its most encompassing purity , both contemplative and expressive . Doctrinal , theological and metaphysical insight or erudition , being of an essentially epistemic nature, is thus of subordinate value in edification . The latter excerpt was where Dr Bentley Hart elucidates plausibly on the nature of the hypostatic union ( Christ's divine/human reality ) and how this relates to our own spiritual latencies . Very enlightening . Thanks for putting this on TH-cam .

This is a great episode, and a conversation I've been particularly thirsty for. I like how prof Schweig establishes the individuation, and distinctions, and that despite the interconnected similarities, that these traditions each have a unique character, not equivocatable to one-another, before struggling (quite appropriately) to discuss similarities, and similar contrasts. I think this conversation was were I really became interested in DBHart's ideas.
Both David and Graham have been the target of my brash challenges, but both demonstrated the maturity to win my respect, and these conversations (among other) were where they earned by interest and intellectual respect:) Thank You TheologyUnleashed:)

He actually had a decent microphone. I think the issue was a software one. I should have asked him to use Chrome. He was using safari.

Grahams description of the Mayavadi at 1:22 reminds me of todays TikTok new age pseudo-spirituality ‘everything is God maaaaan’

      Yeah, it's something like that

Well there is something to that. The main event of Christianity is the Incarnation, God becoming his creation.
