Great EP. I'd never heard any Marcix before this and it rlly took me by surprise on first listen lol. Just glad stuff like this is dropping, this kind of creativity is what dubstep needs more of!
Exactly! I also hadn’t heard any Marcix but maybe one song, and I was blown away by this creativity and experimentalism. Not to mention the genre fusion
i’m not sure if all of these tracks are even meant to have a coherent and memorable melody to them. i think of it more as an experience than a song in that traditional sense. despite that they’ve still been stuck in my head the past few days lol
I gotta admit, most new dubstep/bass releases this year just haven’t been my thing for some reason. It’s been a bit disheartening considering I love listening to new releases and have gotten a ton of enjoyment out of listening to new tunes in the past. This ep, on the other hand, was the first new bass release I loved front-to-back in quite a bit - and that’s why it feels like such a big breath of fresh air for me. Maybe it’s the melodies, the sounds, the off-the-wall flows and that bit of nostalgia it brings back. I don’t know, but Marcix killed it, and I’m definitely a fan of the style 👍
hey man, i would really love to see you cover Code:Pandorum once again some time. its my absolute favourite bass music producer and he is gonna release his new album on november 22nd.
Oh, btw their name is pronounced “mar-kicks”, which I believe they themselves stated at some point but I don’t remember for certain. (Maybe you correct this later in the review, I’m watching it rn)
Idk I’ve felt like this ep was very cluttered sounding and it’s very melodic riddim esc on a lot of it. And it feels like 2020 on most songs or like old 2010 Virtual Riot. Nothing that grabs me sadly…

also adore the "Oi!" on Hyperactive and the bass face on Midnight Justice lol, you looked astounded at the attitude of those songs 😂
throwback to the feels you get from the 2010s but with the sharpness from marcix touch

Probably my favorite disciple/rt release for the past year and a half or so, Marcix is just that guy.

This sort of complextro with neo dubstep kind of style is really well done here. Big fan of his work!
Sounds like dubstep 3

and people have been telling that this is the downfall of Disciple before that EP dropped...
