Unfortunately I do not get the appeal of this project, hell the only songs that I really enjoy (they’re really sick) from MUST DIE! are U SHOULD KNOW, GRAVEBLOOM, and NEW YORK CITY. His other songs are either too unimpactful, weirdly mixed, or too harsh for me personally.
@@TheJittering …the only 3 songs you like are from Feral Fantasy? nothing from Crisis Vision, the entirety of the Never Say Die run?? thats kinda crazy i hope you come around to his stuff because he really is one of the best to do it in this scene
@@yyeahsure I used to be a huge fan of CRISIS VISION, but that project doesn’t really do anything for me anymore. I never understood the hype for Chaos, and any songs I used to enjoy from them have grown off me a great deal.
Definitely a contender for album of the year for me. Not a single track I didn't enjoy, have some favourites. Some of the most surprising tracks I've ever heard from him and some really nice polish. One of the most IDGAF records of this year and it beautifully shows.
Me too, pleased to hear those basses back, it sounds like those 2014 must die basses but with the production quality and ethos of modern must die which i thin is such a cool combo
Once Again is an unbelievable tune, just flex after flex ramping up how nutty the song can get the second drop double build into decently-heavy kick that turns out to be a fakeout for an even more insane kick is just unbelievably absurd lmfao
oh and fun fact, the happy hardcore ending was actually the last part of Frequency Knife at one point, if you look up the song on TH-cam some dubstep promotion channels have up the wrong version. pretty neat!
@7:21 they were from must die himself, he played some clips of a few tracks on instagram live about a week before the album released and See Through was one of them and he said they are his vocals
I hope MUST DIE! continues in this rawstyle/gabber direction, I've been hooked since DELETE IT ALL and I haven't looked back since check out all the artists from the now defunct label Apex Records (Vasto, Scarra, Cryex, etc) if it interests you more 😇
Wanna Rock is def my fav, love the Joey Valence & Brae sample, the flows on those drops are MEAN, and I love how the midsection is ballroom. I've already seen videos of people voguing to the middle drop and it's great haha
its very much a tossup between this and Syzy’s album for my current Bass Album Of The Year - both are fantastic and conceptual, and strong in ways the other isnt. This album is packed with ideas, is fast and tight, and is a love letter to the sounds and styles that inspire Must Die! all these years into his career, infused with the most futuristic sounds he’s ever made. the Syzy album is, in comparison, much more drawn out and focussed on the next evolution on Syzy’s sound, really fleshing out everything it can be. obviously Knock2 and hopefully Skrillex drop in the coming months and get in contention for the title. but right now, those two albums make me more than satisfied with the bass albums ive received this year - remember 5 years ago when it was rare to get an album in this scene, much less one that wasnt fine at best? shoutout Svdden Death, Eliminate, Mr Bill, Culprate, and the obligatory other names ive forgotten this year. a great year for albums :)
@@SagarPatel-cy1dv i need to give it another earnest shot, i liked it a lot but i was a bit burnt out from music when it dropped and it was a bit too EDM-y for me to love it aesthetically off jump (the builds on dino killer are great but you dont get that amount of cheese on either of the 2 albums i was talking about in the original comment). still though, great album, def way cooler than Simulation imo, and i hope it sticks its hooks in me more next time i go back to it :)
@ it reminded me a bit of quest for fire, which I think the album name Stealing Fire is a call out to, so as such, it has multiple genres - which may not be everyone’s cup of tea. It’s probably less dubstep heavy than some of his other album.. Scorching Earth is a such a brilliant house song. The dubstep to house flip in need / get, so good.
@@SagarPatel-cy1dv Scorched Earth is Hard Techno then it goes to trance in the second drop and the last Burial drop is future garage. This track is a masterpiece
Seeing must die live during black list a couple weeks ago was also insane, I think he played some of these tracks there so it’s cool to see them be in an album now
I do like hardstyle, but when we start hitting uptempo, it tends to throw me off… and while Lee makes it work, it’s not my favorites of his work, I have a bigger love for ‘Vampire Weapon: Crimson’, than ‘Midnight’. (Tho these bangers are still crazy, and with Frequency Knife being one of my top MUST DIE! songs (tho released as a single earlier), and I still REALLY like this Album!) Can’t wait to hear more from him (or maybe a future Remix album like he did for Crimson👀)
a hard 7 out of 10, it leans more towards an 8, some ideas i didn't get behind (not a fan of hardstyle and frequency knife is meh now), but dang the rest is top notch. selecta, see through and wanna rock (i disagree with you, the middle drop is insane) are the highlights. short and sweet, in terms of bass music, this is my number 1 for 2024
This album is not so good. Crisis Vision and Feral Fantasy were better. Feral Fantasy is not fantastic but it has its moment. In VW Midnight the hardstyle is way more "classic" than what Must die has done in the past like U Should Know, Delete It All, Underground, Metafractal. Like these songs had meldoy over the hardstyle drop and it gave it a very powerful delivery and originality while Once Again or 2 Ya Face sounds like random hardstyle and the overcompressed parts are really terrible, last drop of 2 ya face is absolute shit. The dubstep in this album is a sort of fight between UK dubstep and brostep and it does not sound original or fresh or good. The house cut See Through is weird with the sort of choral vocals from Wherever U Go, it doesnt fit the tone of the track and also the house drop is not doing anything. Same thing for the techno track, it's simple, not catchy at all. Virtual Riot's album is way, way, but like world aparts way better than VW Midnight and Stealing Fire is easily the best album of the year
that’s crazy fam, i listen to Virtual Riots album and thought it was alright. nothing stuck out to me. but on this MUST DIE album Selecta, Wanna Rock, Once Again, and One Eight Seven have all really peaked my interest. i am a big fan a both artists, been listening to both since at least 2013. but hey, to each their own
THIRD LP IN 4 YEARS! 🤯

Just finished watching, had the EXACT same reaction p much!
This album is making me want a full on MUST DIE! x Syzy collab.
If this wasn't posted before;
"XBLADE" in "2 Ya Face" is a new duo-project between MUST DIE! and Descender
this album was a pleasant surprise, i hear a lot of older must die! in here which made me really happy

once again is fucking nuts, best i've heard from must die in a while

I dont get this sound at all, was my least favorite on the ep. Glad you guys enjoy it so much tho.

Pretty dang good!
Must die cooked again
Selecta & One Eight Seven are my favorite tracks, absolute heaters. Must Die! is one of the Greats imo.
Goated
Before even listening to the review i have only listened to 4 tracks and my god the gabba and hard dance is heavy in this album haha
this album fucking BANGS.
MUST DIE! hardcore techno kicks have gotten sooo good throughout the 2020s imo, he’s almost perfected it tbh.
The light 👽👽👽 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bruh he's been in his bag these last few years
LET. HIM. COOK.
(might've burned the kitchen... but still.)
Must dies emotional remix is still a slapper
love me some raw in a dubstep album 😈
honestly.... would ve prefered a reaction's to culprate's new ep. this was alright better than that previous must die ep by a mile

You gotta listen to the new avance Album! there are some creepy bangers
New reactor here, how do you avoid copyright while reacting to music
Once Again
I felt like this one has either Dual Damage or The Straikerz vibes
This sounds so much like Skrillex yet most people who like this talk shit on Skrillex. I don't understand the hypocrisy.
react ep marshmello the r♾️ts pls

hell of a step up from Crimson imho. really sounds like he's just having fun and goofing around
