i think this is such a great example of hypocrisy and double standards. When they think it's Shakespeare, it's beautiful and so fancy and when they find out it's Taylor Swift it's "that's so bad", "she's so bad", "who would say/sing that", "lol let's look at Taylor Swift private jet memes on our phone" because they have a bias to dislike her already. But honestly, I feel like they might not have really given evermore, folklore, or her other songs a proper listen. One of the reasons TS is so endearing is that sometimes her lyrics flail. "1950s gymnasium" "Hey kids spelling is fun" ""tattood golden retriever" lol. Even her prnounciation isnt always clear like "thousand donuts" and "lonely starbucks lover". But I think that shows her authenticity. How she writes and performs from her heart. Its rawness is charming.
