I, for one, would LOVE to see UT scheduled to play @UH considering how much they have not wanted to do that over the last several years. I'm guessing the reception they'd get would be less than warm, lol.

Boise can't join the Big 12 their stadium doesn't meet Big 12 requirements hell I would rather have Tulsa than Boise Tulsa plays in the same cream puff conference that Cincinnati plays in Cincinnati is overrated they're going to go right back to big bottom feeders they had a couple of good seasons but they're running over

@@jdwilmoth5968 Boise State is expanding their stadium to 50,000 by 2028 though……
Also Boise State very much wants to/ needs to get out of the MWC, because the MWC is renagging on their contract and trying to reduce their allocations by nearly 50%. When Boise State chose to stay with the MWC instead of going to the Big East (that would have inevitably landed them in the AAC) the MWC agreed to give them a special contract that gave the program $5 million more than any other MWC school. The MWC is now trying to equalize all contracts as of 2019, which violates their agreement and was the entire reason they stayed in the conference in the first place.
Unfortunately while this program obviously should be in the PAC12 they will never meet the PAC12 post doctoral/research and international ranking requirements so they need to get into the B12

    • @brian2440
      @brian2440 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Boise State has clearly been a ready P5 program for decades. They literally haven’t had a losing season since 1996 (2nd best in the country) and since 2000 they hold the 2nd best record of all teams. In 21 years they have 15 conference titles, and even years they haven’t been necessarily good they are still competitive. This past year they went 7-5 but beat 2 Top 20 teams and nearly beat a Top 10 team in the B12 runner up.
Also if the B12 adds them soon the B12 could get significant revenue from their ridiculous OOC schedules with upcoming games against Oregon, USC, UCLA, Washington, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Louisville, NC State, UNC, FSU (they also have OOC games against Oklahoma State, UCF, Cincinnati, Baylor, BYU and UH). This is a team that’s not afraid to travel or schedule really anyone
Nobody in the B12 really has these marquee matchups. Granted BSU really needs to fix a lot of holes in their team and coaching staff.

@@jdwilmoth5968 Did you forget that Cincinnati won 5 conference titles in the Big East?
A conference that included West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Pitt, Rutgers, USF, Louisville, Temple and UConn.
Their past season actually tied their best season ever when in 2009 they went 12-0 and finished #3 in the country.
Granted they didn’t deserve this rank over TCU or Boise State (like it’s not even close; TCU had 3 Top 20 wins by 107-45 w/ the #1 defense in the country and Boise State slaughtered the #7 PAC champ by 18, had back to back undefeated seasons and #1 offense in the country). But the BCS gave Cincinnati more credence because of the perceived value of that team even though it wasn’t statistically accurate.
More convincingly was the common opponents with BSU:
Cincinnati vs Miami: 37-24; Boise State vs Miami 48-0
Cincinnati vs Fresno State 28-20; Boise State vs Fresno State: 52-24.

What baffles me, is the comment "we can't go to Orlando and lose again, take whatever money you want." Is this in defense of the power that the Big 12 conference gains in adding these teams or is it an insult to lose to UCF? One could argue it's more impactful to go to lose in Vandy, Mississippi State or any one of the bottom of the barrel SEC teams than a UCF team that's been on the national stage and relevant within the past 5 years

What a great move of Cincy, Houston, and UCF as well as BYU, which will totally offset loss of UT and Oklahoma, the very best available (much better than Syracuse, BC). Could turn Big 12 into the recruiting powers of B1G and SEC now that they'll have access to the Florida market, Ohio, Mountain region, and Southeast Texas/LA. Also will bury the other 5 conferences in metro populations and truly national followings. BYU's national following could be comparable to USC's. UCF's 70K students and massive alumni base is insane. Poor UT and OklaU will get humbled by arrogant SEC powerhouses the way Penn State was back when it joined the Big 10; irony is Texas having to face A&M again regularly. Pac12 blew it by not adding BYU, B1G by not grabbing UH or Cincy or UCF.

But from what I'm hearing the short horns are having second thoughts about going to the Southeast conference they may decide to stick around in the Big 12 since Oklahoma's leaving they might have a chance to actually win a conference championship

UCF humiliated a vaunted Baylor team almost a decade ago in BCS Fiesta Bowl, so near parity already. It was the UT's of the Power 5 conferences battling to block BYU, Cincy, UH, and UCF from challenging them with the recruiting power and revenue a Power 5 membership brings.
