Yeah…let’s get the Market value up for Big 12……with Houston and Cinn. , BYU and UCF ….then add a few others as money is solidified! This will help us determine our value and gain some school loyalty! We surely have a more level playing field! Recruiting will remain competitive! LSU and OU have had less success over the last few years in Houston than you think! UT and A&M…seems to get mediocre results for their great recruiting. The number of transfers available is almost as large as freshmen! With 95 limit…the talent is leveling out thru numerous programs!
The reason HOUSTON didn't get in in 2016 was The BIG-12's biggest requirement was to have a 🏟 seating 50,000. UofH 🏟 seats 40K. That's how TCU got in. This time, that Billionaire showed UofH got💰.
What does Boss T say about this process, funding? And dealing with the untrustworthy B12 Commissioner?… UofH has the name of the Houston area City and thus market is 4 th largest in country., easily!… the percentage needs to have additional clauses and bonuses above the others in conference.

40% of the current schools ARE from Texas. The main reservation to adding Houston is the fact that Houston can now recruit in the other schools backyards. I'm sure they've determined that this also means the current schools can recruit a little more in Houston, so it's worth it.
I understand some of the resistence. e.g.....a 4 star recruit from Houston. "Hey kid, do you want to play in a Power 5 conference or are you going to settle for a Group of 5 school?"
It makes sense now. UT was the University that did not want additional Texas schools. There seems to be a low self esteem issue behind all that bravado. UT used to say "Don't mess with Texas!". Despite the 2 reasons above, they still had over 47,000 ppl in NRG which would have been a sellout at TDECU When Herman was here, fans showed how we can show up in support of our Cougars and that was with playing an AAC schedule. All Houston does is create competition for recruiting! I don't care how you guys want to shine the shinola. Don't know why people want to create the old SWC.
Yesss... Houston creates competition... because... Houston is a potential powerhouse team that will be very appealing to many athletes.... which means... your conference will have a stronger team... and thus.... be a stronger conference... but apparently, what you really want is a team that will create little competition... so your little team can do better... in a weaker conference. As far as recreating the SWC, that's a bit of stretch without UT, A&M, Arkansas, SMU and Rice. But there is such a thing as "traditional rivalries"... and bringing in Houston will spark back up much more salient rivalries than Texas Tech vs. WVU or Baylor vs. Iowa State or TCU vs Kansas. Fess up, you want what's best for your little team's prospects, not for the league's.
Are you thinking they will go to where? KU to the B1G? WVU to ACC & OSU/KSU to PAC 12? Not impossible, but VERY unlikely. Are you thinking they will all go to the PAC 12?
K state and WVU are going nowhere. The acc doesn't want WVU they add no value same with k state to the PAC 12. Ku could maybe go to the big 10 but I think they'd rather have teams like Oregon, Washington, USC, or UCLA.
@@wvgolfnut1 That is an interesting theory. I could see why Kansas would think that they are most valuable, they are a basketball blue blood, but I'm not sure they're right. I could see why Baylor would think that they are the most valuable, they have good football, are the national champion in men's basketball and have a nation wide built in fan base. I'm not sure why WVU would be the most valuable team staying in the BIG XII. They have had some good football teams in the past. But so has OSU, KSU, TCU and even now my team is good, but I don't think I would have the gaul to say they're the most valuable. This sounds like your ego talking. I guess the thing that might clarify it is most valuable to whom? I think KU is the most valuable to the B1G, because they place value on AAU. (That would make ISU second most valuable to B1G) I could see WVU being most valuable to the ACC IF they want to add a local team and not expand into a new market. I suspect WVU would be one of the least valuable teams to the PAC 12.
WVU fans are starting to sound like Texas and Missouri fans. If the ACC wanted you, it would have happened a long time ago. It's Morgantown. Nobody but people from WV give a shit about it.
I’d love to have them back also, but it isn’t happening. They’re happy where they are. They’d like to be better on the field that’s true. Former UH student here that thinks SMU needs to be back playing with former Southwest Conference teams. SMU needs to be in the Big 12.
Joseph does an outstanding job covering UH. Go Coogs!
Million dollar question. With UH UCF Cincinnati and BYU is the b12 still a power 5?
According to the voting members Presidents of the NCAA it is until further notice. Now would be a good time to win a playoff game or Natty to demonstrate its continuing viability as a P5. Because the board can meet and vote very quickly. And what the board has granted it can also take away.
Will bog 12 go down to group of 5?
Boise can join in agreeing to get rid of the blue turf
The reason HOUSTON didn't get in in 2016 was The BIG-12's biggest requirement was to have a 🏟 seating 50,000. UofH 🏟 seats 40K. That's how TCU got in. This time, that Billionaire showed UofH got💰.
TCU can't do 50k unless they do standing room only. I believe official seating capacity is around 44-45k.
Houston is now the university UT wishes it was.
Houston: who have beaten the mighty juggernauts like Prairie View, Grambling, UConn and Rice over the past few years. Give me a break.
Luck doing Bowlshitsby's job.
Next move after the dust settles should be the removal of ol’ Bob!
What are the odds ut and ou stay
Zero
What does Boss T say about this process, funding? And dealing with the untrustworthy B12 Commissioner?… UofH has the name of the Houston area City and thus market is 4 th largest in country., easily!… the percentage needs to have additional clauses and bonuses above the others in conference.
Not going to happen. Prove you can compete and be a good member before making such demands. And remember, UH was the last invite considered this time. Wouldn’t take much to pass them by either. But I’m glad they did invite UH and I’m sure it’ll work out. But don’t act entitled, you’re about to be a P5 program for the very first time, don’t muck it up with crazy talk like that.
Obviously they avoided saying “Cougs House!” In front of Bowlsby
🤣😂 It's going to be funny when they say it in front of BYU fans!
Cougs is Washington State. Coogs is Houston.
The Big 12 needs Texas schools. Why would the other Texas schools not want Houston? It benefits everyone for recruiting purposes
Now they say "Horns down hurts my feelings.😥 It's disrespectful. Make them stop mommy! 😫 Make it a penalty." UT got woke in Austin. Crybabies. They threw a fit when the rest of the Big 12 invited TCU. Now we know why. TCU has been kicking their azz!! 🍑🦵🏻🏈 Bring it Houston!!💪🏻
The fear is that UH becomes the new UT. I don't care that much because I'm 1000 miles away, but if you're TCU, BU or TT I can see the worry. But you do what you've got to do.
@@aCycloneSteve there should never be another Texas in this conference again. And the Big 12 isn’t able to replace Oklahoma or Texas. I’m just glad we’re getting 4 schools that are fun and exciting that’ll be competitive and make the conference fun again
BIG XVI
Houston will beat Rice....
lmao i hope so
Look for Dana the Disaster to be getting the boot before long, I don't see WVU voting yes on Houston knowing Holderson will be their coach. He was given a top 10 team, and he ran it in the ground, then left. I will not watch Houston if he's on the sidelines
They would never cut off their nose out of spite. They would lose all credibility as a school if they were that petty.
Houston and every other Big 12 team needs all the eyeballs and TV sets on them they can get so that the next Big 12 TV contract is as high as possible. If you don't like Dana Holgerson, turn the game on and go mow the lawn so your viewership shows up in the Nielson ratings. Help the Big 12 out.
You mean Dana did to Houston what he did to WVU? Big shocker there.
The vote Friday or whenever is essentially a done deal. These sort of things get pre-sold and pre-approved in the light of public scrutiny.
Read my post, I said if Houston is on tv, with Holderson on the sideline, I won't watch. Love watching Big 12 games, won't watch that sorry excuse for a coach.
Fans
Dont
Show
For
Houston
They didnt show up against Tech and you can see NRG from campus.
1. Ppl in Houston are still paranoid about covid as it's become very bad in Houston lately.
2. Fans are not excited about Dana Holgorsen or Clayton Tune and for good reason, they're both boring af.
3. Despite the 2 reasons above, they still had over 47,000 ppl in NRG which would have been a sellout at TDECU
When Herman was here, fans showed how we can show up in support of our Cougars and that was with playing an AAC schedule. Moving up to the Big12 with more Texas rivals and brand names, expect those attendance numbers to skyrocket
@@DirtySouthScout KState fans showed up when we had Ron Prince even through we were "not excited" about him. Iowa State fans filled a Jack Trice for DECADES while their football team sucked hard. And trust me, the weather in Houston is ALWAYS better than in Ames.
A huge chunk of those fans at NGR were Tech fans, not Houston fans. Dont pretend those 43K (announced attendance, not actual live bodies in the stadium) folks were Houston fans. Based on noise alone, it was close to 50/50.
Bad attendance isnt a COVID thing. Announced attendance in 2019 for Huston home games averaged 26K. Thats pathetic when you have 46K students. Most Big12 schools have stadiums that are twice the size of the student body. Houston will be the ONLY school with a stadium SMALLER than the student body and you still cant fill it up.
Sleeping Giant!!
This is the first comment.
😂 Hard accomplishment to achieve in John's videos!
@@SJVA damn 🤣
Memphis would be a better fit, rather than Houston. Build a bridge to WVU.
WVU Kansas, OK state and Kansas State will be leaving after the grant of rights ends.
@@wvgolfnut1 are they going to form their own conference?
Thats pretty close to the dumbest statement Ive seen recently
From what I've read, Memphis may have some work to do in terms of academics and facilities. All achievable but will take time and money
@@wvgolfnut1 and where are they going? lol keep dreaming. Make the B12 a viable conference. Stand on your own for once!
UCF can sleep. SMU
houston will become the bama of the big 12
Big talk, no let’s see it. There are still some very strong teams in this league. So you’ll have the chance to prove it. Anyway, welcome glad you’re here!
OSU 52-UH 14
@@MrDavidfarris david, Im a Nebraska fan...I was just kidding bout bama's level..but houston does have a shot to be good, recruiting and tv market wise.
WVU, Kansas, OK state and Kansas State will be leaving after the grant of rights ends. Look for another round of expansion in 2025
Are you thinking they will go to where?
KU to the B1G? WVU to ACC & OSU/KSU to PAC 12?
Not impossible, but VERY unlikely.
Are you thinking they will all go to the PAC 12?
K state and WVU are going nowhere. The acc doesn't want WVU they add no value same with k state to the PAC 12. Ku could maybe go to the big 10 but I think they'd rather have teams like Oregon, Washington, USC, or UCLA.
WVU is the most valuable team that's staying in the big 12
(That would make ISU second most valuable to B1G)
I could see WVU being most valuable to the ACC IF they want to add a local team and not expand into a new market.
I suspect WVU would be one of the least valuable teams to the PAC 12.
WVU fans are starting to sound like Texas and Missouri fans. If the ACC wanted you, it would have happened a long time ago. It's Morgantown. Nobody but people from WV give a shit about it.
Ugh
The little 8 are desperate.
@@machtschnell7452 And?
Do Not want Houston Nebraska instead
Nebraska would be a better team than they are now after a few years of recruiting in Big 12 country. Love to have them back.
I’d love to have them back also, but it isn’t happening. They’re happy where they are. They’d like to be better on the field that’s true. But cashing those $56 million checks is habit forming, and not happening in this league anytime soon. I’d venture to say if there were a chance of the Cornhuskers returning OU wouldn’t leave. The love/hate between those two schools is legendary. The Sooners would’ve waited with baited breath for that because those two are awesome for each other, they make greatness together and did for decades!
@@MrDavidfarris Agreed, no way Nebraska comes back. That's why they will keep losing. And cashing checks.
Some really strange comments, Nebraska leave the BIG 10, yeah let’s take a 25 million pay cut.
Houston is going to have to change their name since there will be 2 Cougars now. How about the Houston Oilers? throw it back
How about BYU changing to SAINTS!
