    Amazing footage and Drone work!! Your editing it spot on, I feel like I am right there all over again!! I'm glad no one got skin burns taking the temp's on those rock openings and pipes. You covered ALOT of miles on those mtn. sides and also glad you didn't get hurt while hiking and filming at the same time! Great FUN!! Thank you for this meet-up it was definitely a GOOD one! 🌄 🌄 🌄

    I watched a documentary about Centralia once and they spoke of a resident that raised carrier homing pigeons. Those cages look like the type for that type of bird.

    Jay I loved Graffiti Highway and never get tired of your footage The Bluejay Drone does a fantastic job! I loved the natures carpet as well the Warehouse building was cool to see again. The cages were a bit disturbing. Not sue I wantvto know what they were used for as I'm an animal lover and a Cat Dad like you! We have an area here with an ongoing underground fire 🔥 near a nuclear waste area the EPA has finally agreed to move the waste. St. Louis had several facilities that manufactured heavy water both for the Manhattan Project and the H Bomb 💣. As you well know I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your videos friends and family! Continue to stay safe & I will see you in your next video. Oh yea so with your entourage of fellow explorers I've nick named them Jay and the Journeyman! And Women...lol 😆

    Pepperidge Farm remembers when it was just an abandoned section of highway without much spray paint on it.
    It was all the traffic and people being nuisances in general that got the place to where it is now. Like in a few of those final videos before it was buried the people riding offroad vehicles recklessly and such. Arguing with the authorities didn't help either.

    Natures carpet, and you should have picked up one of natures canes, {tree branch} to help you down that hill LOL. Had a great time, loved the drone footage. This is the only time I think graffiti was fitting, along this old highway. They should have left it alone, it's not like the trashy sort of graffiti you usually get. The cages were very iffy to me, not chicken cages, no roost, and pretty high classed caging area for chickens, maybe rabbits, pidgins, I hope. They were very unsettling. Great video, see you next time.

    We were just there August 2022. 5 people left 1 home, a church, and the municipal building. We drove as many streets as we could. You really have to imagine there was a town here. If you look carefully, you will finds some remnants of the town. A piece of sidewalk, stone walls, some fence here and there. The rest is imagination. Graffiti Highway is completely covered. And we were warned to stay away. If you got caught on the highway you will be fined 200-250.00. We were told the fire is gone from the town and moving towards Mt Carmel.

    Depends on substance. Water is 212 degrees oil is 572 degrees. Coal burns @4500 degrees... so if that's an old coal mine set aflame... That makes sense

  • @evarodriguezalequin5705
    @evarodriguezalequin5705 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ive seen videos of reports and news about this place when at first smoke started coming out from the ground many years ago. And how many residents had to leave the town after it was nice, beautiful and developed. Very sad. Could there be a possibility of this place having coal mines deep down the soil? And if this is true, did the government know about it? Just curious, since you showed how hot it is there.

    • @juliestockmeyer5871
      @juliestockmeyer5871 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eva Rodriguez Alequin There are coal shafts underneath the town and nearby, that caught fire. That’s why there are pockets open that are venting steam. The government, (as far as I know), ordered everyone out, but they can stay in their homes, until they die. Some folks just took a buyout from the government and fled to less hazardous areas of the world! Look up Centralia with Google and you’ll find out lots more information. God bless.

    Why that's Nature's Carpet Jay... and I'm sure it's probably not legal oh, but don't doubt those people out there trying to use shovels to uncover graffiti Highway... Remember mountains of material was moved in Pennsylvania in the past with picks and shovels by hand. 😉👍
    P.S.
    Funny thing, I click the like button and it said added to my liked videos but the tally count under the thumbs up didn't go up... And it didn't turn blue, a glitch on TH-cam I don't know... 🤔

    Nature's carpet!
    ...........
    I'm surprised that the owners of Graffiti Highway are now ok with hunting on the property. They didn't want people there before, now they'll have people shooting when"tourists" are still coming around to see the highway. How does that reduce their liability? 🤔

    I don't understand why they couldn't close or collapse off areas and choke out the fire or pump the mine full of water before it spread so much

    I'd love to see 20,000 people with shovels go up and dig it out, I miss it.

    Maybe the cages were used for rabbits. They look like rabbit cages to me. Intro drone shot shows a guy hilariously tripping over his foot .

    You know, in a way the Graffiti Highway was sort of a National Treasure. Too bad they covered it up. If that was to keep people from gathering there it obviously didn't work.

    Thought they were going to make a park out of graffiti highway ? It's a good thing you didn't fall on that hill or RJ would have had to take you to the emergency too ....
