Great advice. I purchased a new place a year and half ago. I am super picky and know what I like. I knew going it was going to take me time to complete my vision for my place and that is completely fine. I had no intentions upon rushing out to purchase a whole bunch of crap I knew I didn't want just to fill my space. I am doing things in stages so I can either save my money for what it is I do want and or make final design decisions based upon clear focus. I find friends can sometimes be super annoying like why don't you get this or that. I am like its okay. It's my home. I live here and I work at my pace. Do what you want at your house.

I agree with everything you spoke about in the beginning and although your house can speak to you about furniture placement your house cannot speak to you about your "Design Style". Most people don't know their Design Style. They end up wasting time and money. Boho, Traditional, Farmhouse, Mediterranean, Industrial?? There are many Design Styles to choose from. Sometimes you can allow the outside style of the house to determine the inside style, but if you don't like that style, then what? It's very important to first know your "Design Style". Wonderful Job. 👍

Just finished our first home reno as in we moved in 2 days ago. OMG we have almost the same kitchen! I was really starting to doubt choosing black cabinets though I think it's because I haven't decorated it yet. Our differences:
- flat front cabinet doors instead of Shaker style. No pulls either bc I figured that'll be trickier for a toddler to open.
- skinnier subway tiles (5x25 cm) in a L pattern vs a V pattern like yours.
- no upper cabinets on the right, just 2 oak shelves to bring in the wood from the original floors, doors, and trims throughout my 1930s house.
- black appliances so they are "hidden" against the black cabinets.
- no island nor breakfast nook because there's not enough space in home after moving to Europe 😆 I have a black banquette next to the window with an oak table.

I use a product called glue away to remove stickers and sticky film from jars by Homeline I purchased at .99 cents only store they are not located everywhere. I'm enjoying your beautiful home tour and those wall sconces in your bedroom I love.
