Thanks for the review, I'm in the same boat as you, trying to find meat hauler backpack under $300 and have just use little day packs my whole life so trying to figure out how big of a pack I need in addition the little things that make big differences. Again thanks for the review
Great review. How would you compare this pack to the Badlands 2200? I’m trying to decide on this one for $175 or the 2200 for $238. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have the 2013 edition of the Cabela’s Alaskan Instinct external frame. Basically a monster 85 liter with side wing bags bucket design. Pack comes off and lash deer cart to it. Best external frame pack out there.
Yeah looks like I am. So last week I packed my elk out with it. Per the usual it did ok. Still hate the little snap buckles, but where the meat goes they where smart enough to put real buckles and they lock. Last pack had some gear, but not fully loaded in the pack part. I will say, if you over load the pack, with your meat, it will pull you back, but is doable. Now that it is broke in, it is doing pretty good. But packing the meat out, it did well.
Watched all 3 videos 4 years later. Thanks buddy!
Ha, thanks for watching none the less and hope it was helpful

I have come to like this pack, recommend it for that price
Great review. I personally love the annoying little buckles... I got them figured out. Thanks for the video
Good bud glad they are working for you.
I just got one today, not sure how to adjust the torso. Also I am in sure if a hind quarter from a elk in it
You don't put it IN it - You strap it to the frame & pit bag over....... Torso has Velcro & a strap behind everything that you have to reach for !!

I only hunted for 15 mins lol nice
Okay, so with your experience of this pack, what $200 pack would score an 8 or above? Thanks for the video!
I would have to say I haven’t found a $200 pack better than this yet

I think you are the only one to do a review on this pack. I'm looking for someone who is physically carrying some meat in it with their gear as well.
