Weed was extremely illegal at the time of filming. The majority of the drug trade in Johannesburg is controlled by gangs of illegal immigrants majority of the time Nigerian who run several crime operations around the area. It might seem comical to you but here south africa people get killed for trespassing or fiddling with these plantations in the middle of nowhere
