      Really perceived fear of crime? When I lived in South Africa, we found a dead person in the swimming pool and once there was such carnage outside the front door, the blood leaked under it, into my house (and not a little bit either). Go live there with the doors unlocked. The heck is wrong with you?

      hes a happy chappie but he has a huge weight on his shoulders and hes not at ease . Nobody is at ease in south Africa, and while the lefty bbc marxistglobalist liars continue to spread the lefty indoctrination in Europe and Africa, and its indoctrinating subversive lefty universitys are given full open reign to do what they like to indoctrinate our youth, encouraged by traitors in the conservstive government this shit will continue. To hide the balls- ups and their total ineptness, conservative government traitors and libtards blame everything on a fictional 'hard right wing' so called 'white supremists' when in actual fact its the lefty supremists fascists who are the problem . lefty fascists.The gullible people especially the libtards are setting themselves up for a future EXACTLY like what is happening here under socialist Marxist South Africa to happen in Europe as well. This is coming your way Europe and within the next 20 years.. The lying subversive lefty bbc want whitey OUT of the UK, facts!, and the marxist globalists, and their cultural Marxism are trying to destroy the white family and "multiculture " us to death in Europe, GENOCIDE , so its has no true identity, and they can manipulate and control you and finally "CASH IN". Pull your fucking finger out NORMAL PEOPLE use your brains and vote out these lefty lovin commie traitors and those in our conservative governments who are virtue signalling up to the left. The marxist golobalist left who don't belong in our countrys and shouldn't be there, just like the lefty LYING bbc! Throw them out! defeat them! and take our culture and identities and countrys back before its too late ONCE YOUR FREEDOM IS GONE ITS GONE . IF YOU DONT YOU ARE AS GOOD AS DEAD! @craigsymington5401 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Junkers in Tutus I can take you all over Africa and show you the consequences of the "whites leaving". Not pretty, and has been so for half a century. Why u think Africans flock to this place. We built SA together, black migrants from the North, European settlers. Yes, there were sorry MFs among them, wicked people, but my great grandfather and grandfather treated ANYONE who came to his medical practice, regardless of whether or how they could pay(even if Apartheid had them use separate facilities, they had them!. Maybe that's why my white ancestors weren't murdered in the 150+ years ago in SA! Same not true in Angola, DRC, Moz. etc. I worked in the townships after school, not carrying a gun but a bible. I'm leaving, btw. with my skills, family and goodwill, and not much more than the clothes on my back...
      Question Africans need to ask is who stands to benefit in the destabilisation of the region? think RED...

In the same way Children that were abused have trouble adapting to the world afterwards the majority of South-Africans have trouble recovering from being abused and robbed for centuries by colonial powers and the remaining vestiges of that white power.
      Of course it's easier to blame the victims than their well armed oppressors so i can understand why cowards such as yourself do what you do. Sucking up to the powerful is how you probably think you can get enough power to abuse others.

    • @MrPpd12

      the whites relinquished their power and this is what happened, are you even thinking?

    • @pietersteenkamp5241
      @pietersteenkamp5241 6 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      The whites kept their wealth and the vast majority of their economic power intact and that is part of why the country looks the way it does. The reality of course is that the overwhelming majority of the violence happens to the very people that still has no economic or much political power in the country while the middle class/white people are still by far the least likely group to be victims of crime; we can afford to hide and take precautions with all our 'stolen' ( state subsidy's) wealth.
      The problem on this comment section is that the large majority of those who feel compelled to make their opinions heard still stupidly believe in that ridiculous construct called race and try to see the world trough their narrow lens of presumed racial superiority instead of reading or thinking about the past.

    I live in Cape Town, and I think this video is a pretty accurate report. Well done Vice. What boggles my mind is: everyone (in the video) keeps admitting that the police force is in-adept, in-equipt, too small etc. to handle the crime. But then why isn't the police force being improved? Surely that makes sense. But then we mustn't just focus on the police force (or even other crime prevention initiatives), because those are merely trying to treat the symptoms of the real problem lying underneath: this country does have one of the highest "inequality" ratios in the world. And I'm not talking race. There's also very poor white people in South Africa (see White Slums in South Africa video). It's about wealth distribution. A small percentage of the population holds the most of the wealth, whilst the biggest percentage of the population doesn't have anything. And when you don't have anything, you start turning towards crime. It's a big challenge we're facing in this country, and increasing security forces alone isn't going to solve it. But we can solve it. By working together towards a better South Africa. I've been to other countries (in Europe and England and Asia), and I'm telling you: this is an amazing country. Don't quit it- or condemn it because of it's problems. But rather lets choose to become part of the solution.

      levettp Yep, so true... there is a old saying in political acedemia, which has proven to be true since the dawn of human civilazation. "When governments run out of money, they take their people to war." The SA government is flat broke, and has been since Zuma took the throne. He is just dividing the last vestages of the governments wealth between himself and his cronies, so that when the shit hits the fan he can retire somewhere nice. These people have absolutely no problem with setting the country on fire, and ofcoarse they will blame white people for everything, while they sneak away quietly. When the black population wake up, it will be too late and they will be stuck in perpetual civil war with a bunch of warlords fighting for control of the mines. This scenario has played out all over Africa, why wouldnt it happen here?

    • @levettp
      @levettp 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Bill Clinton Apart from economic collapse, there are political reasons that will fuel civil war as well. Whites have followed every legal political avenue to try and end discriminatory ANC legislation like BEE, AA and "land grabs". Then you also sit with the 27% unemployed that are fed up with failed ANC job creation plans. No person is as dangerous as the one who has nothing to lose! When SA economy collapses it will not be a Zimbabwe situation since they could return to rural areas where they scratched a living together for survival ... The majority of urban SA blacks have nowhere to go. It is sad to say but civil war is our only hope for positive change in SA!

    I'm from South Africa, specifically Johannesburg. The ANC is doing a poor job since its first 2 presidents, corruption and neglect go hand in hand when it come to our government. For crying out loud our president has a minimum of 40 corruption, rape and other allegations against him, he even once remarked that 'taking a shower will get rid of HIV/Aids. Rich or poor, black or white if you go into wrong area at wrong times or do not keep your guard up you will fall victim to some sort of crime, in Africa its not 'if' it is a matter of 'when'. If you watched the press during Nelson Mandela's funeral you will see how people protested for our president to step down and if you are a citizen you would laugh at our presidents speeches.

      +SlightlyVisible there were problems during the aparteid years but the country was stable, safe, and the economy was good, and the infrastructure was being improved and maintained. if you do some reading you will find that even Time magazine reported in the 1960's that black families were starting to get ahead, buy their own vehicles, and make a decent living. Apareid was not a good system, but I think had there been more time for a smooth transition to a government that is not completely corrupt, the country would have been much better off. I was born in South Africa and my family moved in the year 2000. There isn't a single person from family and friends that live there that I know, that hasn't been murdered, attacked, robbed, or raped. It's a real bad situation :(

    • @MelissaRudman
      @MelissaRudman 9 ปีที่แล้ว +83

      +legendarydavo I am a South African and I can assure you that is not true at aaaall. Only racist white South Africans want Apartheid back. Apartheid was absolutely horrific for people of colour and, even though the country is in a bit of a shit place, it is far better than the vast majority being dehumanized and treated the way they were.
      Also, South Africa has absolutely ridiculous economic inequality as a result of Apartheid, which unfortunately drives a lot of people living in poverty to commit crimes. Obviously I'm not justifying it, but if you lived here, you might have a better understanding. Also, as this documentary shows, our police force is pathetic as fuck and very corrupt.
      It's easy for white South Africans to sit back and say that the country is super fucked up now, while ignoring the fact that Apartheid was the most disgusting crime of all. White people were, and still are, incredibly advantaged from Apartheid, whereas people of colour are very much still disadvantaged.
      Trying to justify it is wrong, because that's like insinuating that being a developed country (or whatever you guys are saying, I'm not sure) is more important than treating people of colour as humans.

I was young enough to remember living in a violent free society under the apartheid government, no strikes, no joblessness, no crime etc. I have to immigrate to Australia soon, i cannot deal with the consistent strikes by the 70% jobless people, the absolutely useless government facilities, the bad crime, the corruption in government etc. Does that make me racist? I have 3 black friends that agree it would be better to immigrate as SA is going downhill. Blacks in South Africa were denied access to proper education, you were not, so you have the skills required to rebuild your business.
      Now, South Africa is suffering the consequences of their racism. A generation of ill-educated blacks in management positions and poorly socialized youth committing crimes.

      @lazer tag This is Cape Town. Most of those you think are ''blacks'' would kill you if you called them that, they hate blacks. They are cape coloureds. They are mixed race - mix of Dutch, Indonesian and black as well as bushman blood, dating back 350 years when it was a Dutch-owned settlement. They are disenfranchised now because all government is black i.e. 100% black, but under apartheid they were second class, under whites but above blacks. The way to know if someone is black or coloured is by his name - blacks have African surnames and often first names, coloureds have European - mostly Dutch - first and surnames, as well as by their accent, coloureds' first language is Afrikaans i.e. Dutch, blacks speak tribal African languages and/or English as a first language and hate the Afrikaans language. Also where they live in Cape Town is telling, if they are in Mitchellsplain they are coloured, if they live in Khayelitsha they are black.

    Imagine how great the world would be if white people just stayed in Europe and left the rest of the world alone. Whites wouldn't be complaining about how other races are migrating into their countries and the rest of the world wouldn't be complaining about how whites migrated into their land, murdered, enslaved and oppressed them. Everyone would have had the opportunity to carve out their own futures based on their own cultures in relative peace resulting in entire civilisations and cultures alive today. Imagine North and South America unaffected by the Spanish, Portuguese or the British, or an Oceania that's only populated the the Aborigines, Maori... etc, or an Africa where the ancient cities and civilisations were allowed to prosper. It just sucks that the first civilisation that attained the technology to unite the world decided they wanted to take it all for themselves instead, and didn't care who they killed or tortured in the process... as long as they didn't look like them.

    • @Smoke1
      @Smoke1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      *****
      First off, places like China were far more civilised than Europe, they had invented things like gun powder, paper, paper money, printing, the compass, silk, porcelain, iron, steel smelting and a ton of other stuff we use today.
      And then we have the Arab Muslims, they invented the clock, camera, universities, surgical instruments, and let's not forget algebra. Also, why do you think the number system we use today is called Arabic numerals?
      Next we have the Africans, before the Europeans showed up Africa actually had huge cities in vast kingdoms. In fact around the 13th century the Kingdom of Ghana was as big as Western Europe and and traded in gold, salt and copper. It is said that the kingdom had a collection of powerful local rulers controlled by one king or emperor. Ghana was highly advanced and prosperous and it is said that the Ghanaian ruler had an army of 200,000 men - and that's just one kingdom.
      Oh, and let's not forget that modern music (including rock) is a black invention.
      You need to learn your history son - you have the world at the tip of your fingers - no excuses for ignorance.

    • @jimjones7051
      @jimjones7051 8 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      Smoke- The common misconception is that the Arabs invented Algebra which is a lie. The Greeks invented Algebra and Geometry. The Arabs simply got their hands on it and copied it after the fall of the Greek city states. And the Camera? You know that was an 19th century invention by a European inventor.
      You might want to learn to use the internet instead of making things up!

    • @Smoke1
      @Smoke1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jim Jones
      Actually when it comes to Algebra, it is disputed whether the credit belongs to the Greek Diophantus or the Arab al-Khwarizmi. Most modern historians believe it was al-Khwarizmi because he was the one who founded the discipline of al-jabr, which is the form we use today. Diophantus method used mostly special ad hoc methods to solve equations, which is not Algebra.
      With the camera, I'm not even gonna argue with you - anyone who thinks that the camera was invented in the 19th century clearly knows nothing on the subject. Remember, the camera and photography are two different things.
      Maybe you should take your own advice and use the internet.

      Africa is not a single country, just because you have tribes in one place living as hunter gatherers it doesn't mean everyone in the continent are hunter gatherers - that's like saying all whites live in old wooden houses with no electricity and water because there are whites in Russia living like that.
      About your ignorant crap about everywhere black being a shit hole, I suggest you look up Uniondale, New York - average income $76,000, Mitchellville, Maryland Average income $120,000, View Park-Windsor Hills, California - $160,000, and there's a ton more black affluent neighbourhoods, too many to mention.

When a culture doesn't believe that education is not important, there will be crime. Living in another area isn't the solution. Change the culture and the crime level goes down.

That means creating jobs on our own, building our infrastructure on our own, medication, food, education. and we have china to copy all from it! but all we do is to blame everything on white people. btw we should see colonization as something positive and learn form it. Birmingham? those places have low murders they are only considered dangerous for overall crime "Theft, burglary ect" When it comes to "DANGER/MURDERS" Baltimore, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington D.C , Camden Nj, Cleveland,

    "The concern for safety amongst south africa's elite doesn't come close to those living in poor underdeveloped communities, where 80% of the crime in the country actually occurs. Phillip guards a neighbourhood that saw only 4 murders last year. He lives in an area with over a 160 murders. Where he works, private companies profit from the perceived fear of crime."
    Wow, you completely missed the mark, didn't you guys? Only four murders in a neighbourhood? That's extremely serious. There's no perceived fear. Only real fear. If these fortifications and private security were not in place. Then this ''rich'' community would be RAIDED by the people from the slums. Like it was an English village being raided by the vikings. There would be nothing left, man. Everyone would be murdered and everything would have been looted.
