    hahaha the way you watched it and asked it not to fall 🤣I've done that soo many times. And the moment you turn your back to it for one second is when it does fall.

      Yes!! 😂😂 exactly how I broke my marble queen leaf. Turned away for one second and boom, 4 poles come crashing down 🙈

    Love your moss pole collection. I have found having a favorite plant of the day easier than claiming all time favorites! I can’t pick just one!

    For those who understand, Melissa revealed to all how to grow big leaves. This is quite some work. But this is the way.

    My sister woke up with an extra cat in her house this morning. It was the neighbors cat who came into stay last night. My sister didn’t know she was in there and closed the door last night. No fights. Her cats know her.

    You can add moss right to the end then cable tie the poles together without overlapping, that’s what I do when I extend to 180cms. I use a 180cm garden stake that what you don’t lose any pole. Great video also. ❤

    I bought 2 Spendids a month ago and can’t wait to put them on a pole. I’m just waiting for them to get a little bit bigger, but hopefully soon!

    Love the video. You make chopping and extending look easy, even though you get a little uneasy at first. Great job! I would love to buy one of your plants,once you get to that point. Keep doing what you do. You are an exceptional planti parent.

    Excellent video Doctor Melissa. You should start putting PE after your name for Plantologist Extraordinaire, you’ve certainly earned that distinction. Most people know that GPS is an acronym for Global Positioning System but in your case it stands for General Plant Surgeon so you could be Melissa PE GPS. I think that is a perfect fit. Please say hello to Jack in the Beanstalk for me. Thanks for the video.

    Girl, you don't know how much you've grown on me (no pun😂). I'm a new subscriber, but I have seen some of your videos. It's amazing how much in common we have. I love your collection. Sooo beautiful!! I have about 170 plants. I know how crazy and emotional you can get with your plants. I usually cry because of how happy and thankful I am to have all of my plants!!😂😂 But I have to really control my emotions when I have to chop them. We feel that way because they are also our babies. Especially when we've grown them from very little. I'm not trying to be dramatic😂😂. It's just my truth! Your videos are super relatable and enjoyable. You do such a great job!! I look forward to watching more videos.❤️🪴

      @plantsbymelissa  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! 🤗 I'm happy to have you here and it makes me so happy that you find them relatable and enjoyable 🥹 170 is a great number!! I'm probably a good 225 now at least lol and it's a lot especially because I tend to over care sometimes 🙈 but definitely agree they are our babies and it's been the best growing them out from such little plants. Sometimes I want to shrink some down again and watch them regrow lol.

    Woohoo!! Well done Melissa 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 This is exciting!!!! And although you hate making the wire moss poles it's sooooooo therapeutic and lovely watching them being made up so thank you 🤭 I've never had to chop and extend a pole YET but I think I may have to extend my first pole this summer (Dec/Jan) so am getting excited. Watching you getting your zip ties while praying she doesn't fall made me anxious but also chuckle....phew! Oh and seeing Chai with the moss bag was so adorable. I'm more of a dog person myself but my daughter is def a cat person so I'll be showing her that later on hehe. Splendid growing!!😉🥰

    I would 10000% buy some cuttings if you decide to sell them! I also love the idea of grafting tape for the moss poles! I think it looks so much sleeker, especially if you are using a clear pole! PLUS, I think it aids in moisture retention around the nodes.

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yess!! Exactly! It’s what helped my verrucosum finally grow. It wasn’t rooting into the wire pole so once I put it on a thiccly one with wrap it started attaching quickly!

    Would cling wrap also work to help root connect just wondering I almost want to try to grow a large plant but still definitely still new to plants and they intimidate me lol they are so magnificent!!!!

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol it’s a lot to learn and you don’t know until you try! My first poles I made were so bad 😂🙈 but they’re worth it! You really have to want to grow larger leaves. As soon as one starts maturing then you’re hooked, you’ll want to do more and more 😂 cling wrap will work, might have to use some tape too so it doesn’t come apart!

  • @janecotelos2240
    @janecotelos2240 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love your videos! I learn so much. You have to be pretty brave to chop! If you sell your plants how would a person go about buying? I love all you do, ther plants, your cats, your home is beautiful! You remind me of a young me lol!

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much 🥹 It gets easier the more you do it but for a pole I haven't chopped yet it takes me a minute to actually chop the vine 😂 I've been wanting to create my own website but I'll definitely have to figure all of that out. I would have the ones I wanted to sell listed on there. I don't think I want to do an Etsy shop but we'll see! I'll definitely let everyone know :)

    Why are you calling the plant “she”? How dare you misgender a plant without first considering its pronouns 😂 maybe its a they them or even fluid
