Larussa was a very good baseball manager, but then there is the rest of it. I'm a cardinal fan too. I don't blame this broadcaster for giving his side. Every story has two sides.

As a lifelong cardinals fan the larussa era was full of winning but I was never able to forget how much the guy touted tradition yet did everything he could to get rid of Ozzie Smith. Then, 16 years and two championship seasons later, he says he's not gonna represent stl in the hof. I mean you were here double the amount of time than Chicago or Oakland. Done with him.

You seem a little bitter. He can go into the Hall with whatever cap he wants. Btw Ozzie was a huge crybaby. The fact was his skills were badly diminished and Royce Clayton was a better shortstop at that time. Larussas job is to win. What was he supposed to do?

Ryan C Thank you. Smith also was part of the divided locker room that lead to Whitey Herzog quitting.

Les Grossman He chose your go in with no logo on his HOF plaque. That’s a show of respect to all the teams he managed. Grow up.

TLR was the best many the Cardinals have ever had. The Ozzie situation was unfortunate but necessary. Ozzie was done as a daily player. Tony had to make that tough call like all good leaders do.

The man always treated me with respect and fairness. If you did something wrong, he brought it to your attention when it happened and then it was done deal until the next time. One of the best baseball people I ever had the privilege to work with. Known him for many years and he is the same now as he was when he started managing in Chicago. The person that you see on TV doesn't show his true character. A great baseball man he is.

Lifetime Cardinal fan, as a manager, Tony L., was a very good manager, but from what I read about his players getting along with him, didn't care for him that much. I know Ozzie Smith and Scott Rolen weren't close to him

Anyone that thinks la russa doesn't know and or think that base ball is a one for one game is out of their minds. If anything, your team hits his 7 or 8 hitter, his guys would hit a top 4 hitter in in return he'd think that was fine. We've all seen him manage.
