  • This is a review video, we were not paid. This is Jon and the girls first time filming and editing a video so give them a round of applause!
This is the Vanpower Urban Glide Ultra. It is very smooth and comfortable to ride. In playing with the pedal assist I had a 60+ mile range on several different terrains. I rode it on asphalt and dirt/gravel roads in the mountains; took it off road in weeds, loose gravel, deep shifting silt dirt, in water puddles, and mud. Gearing down and a regular cadence to your pedaling allows the motor to take you out of some really tricky materials without ever putting your feet down or breaking a sweat. Riding on the flat was very easy, headwinds and steep hills I only needed to gear down a bit to push through without any actual effort. The seat post has a spring that minimizes discomfort and the front shocks were equally kind to my wrists and elbows.
The one disadvantage of this bike is that you never have to pedal very hard. If there was an adjuster that took Pedal Assist 1 down by about half this would be an ideal bike for someone wanting to go long distances but still get a good workout.
The bike is not difficult to ride with the power assist turned off as long as you really work to find the right gear. I took it on grass and up some small hills with the power off and it balanced well without too much effort.
I vote a 9/10 on this bike. Super fun and comfortable.

Instead of an electric bike I bought a Honda Ruckus 49cc moped. In my state you don't need a motorcycle license and there's no registration or insurance so you just buy it and ride it wherever you want except freeways. I already put 7000 miles on it and it's been totally reliable and super easy and cheap to maintain. Top speed is 45mph and I get over 100mpg. No need to let the bike sit and charge for several hours like yours. Just add another gal of gas and go for another 100+ miles.
